Lillian X Cam

Cam's POV

The sun was just beginning to rise over the horizon, sweet rays softly highlighting the dew on the flowers before me. I pulled flowers from different areas on my cart, a peony for good health, a larkspur as beautiful spirit, a gardenia showing joy.

"Cam!" A sweet voice rang out.

Lilly; regal, celebrating, enthusiastic, ambitious.

Lillian; all of the above.

I look up from making my bouquet, the smile only she can summon spreading across my face. "Good morning." I murmur, keeping my eyes on my hands, setting them back to work.

"Hey Cam! Do you have any time to hang out today? I finished my chores early." The girl leaned against my counter, long brown hair falling in her face as she turned her head trying to catch my eyes.

I straightened, but tugged my cap down so she still couldn't catch them. "I suppose I could spare you some time."

A bright smile lit up her whole face, "Really? Yay!" She threw her arms around my neck, "Let's go!"

She spun around but I grabbed her wrist and stopped her, "Not so fast, let me finish up here."

"Sorry," She smiled sheepishly, "I got a little excited there."

Fine, maybe a Calla Lillie's regalness hadn't quite been captured by Lillian. That didn't mean she wasn't beautiful. I turn away as a blush flames at my thoughts and pray she doesn't see.

I finish up the bouquet I had started, then on a spur of the moment begin making a new one since Lillian was distracted by the other flowers. I pull pink and yellow tulips, slipping in a Sweet pea and a pink rose. I quickly rap it and tie it off, yes the colors seem slurred to me. I hadn't made such an uncoordinated bouquet in a long time, but color had not been what was on my mind.

Lillian turns to me, opening her mouth to say something but I cut her off, "Here. For you."

Lillian beamed at me, "Thank you so much! I love it! Are you ready to go? We can stop at my house so I can put these in water."

I nod, stuffing my hands in my pockets and following her down the steps. I walked a step behind her, still stuck in my thoughts.

What had possessed me to make a bouquet like that? I blush again thinking about it.

"Cam? Are you feeling alright?" Lillian had stopped and I bumped into her, she was looking at me, concern clear in her eyes.

"Yes, I'm fine." I say quickly, trying to walk past her but this time it is she who catches a wrist.

"Cam..." She says, turning me to face her. Her eyes search my face and she feels the racing pulse in my wrist. I silently curse her watchfulness, how could I explain that I wasn't sick without telling the truth. She reaches forward and feels my forehead frowning. I feel her cool soft hand as it brushes against my skin, I reach up, grabbing her wrist and keeping her hand there, cupping my face. I step closer and confusion clouds her eyes as I close the gap between us. I lean down and she blushes as I kiss her nose. I step back, hating myself for the smirk I adopt as I move away.

"I just remembered, I had better be going Lillian, I'll see you around." I turn away, leaving her frozen on the street.

One day, I'll tell her the meaning of the flowers I left in her hands.

The pink tulip, saying I care about you as the sweet pea holds it back whispering shyness, the pink rose singing notes of admiration.

The yellow tulip sitting on the side, unable to move on as it carries its message of being hopelessly in love with you.

Sha, I did another Lillian one without meaning too. This is really short but I didn't want to stray from the subject of the bouquet he had made.
