Okay, so as you all may or may not know, the widely popular 5th game in the persona series got its own anime adaptation recently.

I've played the persona 5 game numerous times, and it never gets old.

Keep in mind that this review of the anime adaptation is purely my opinion, and isn't meant to be rude.

Okay, let's get started!

So the persona 5 anime came out in the beginning of April this year.

I watched the first episode after it was released, and I was impressed, but a bit skeptical.

When I watched the first episode, I thought that the plot was advancing a bit quickly, but I understand why that's the case.

I played the game, and the game is a very long one. And usually anime series have 12 episodes. If the show does well, they make another season.

Because each episode is around 24 minutes long, it'll be hard to cramp all of the ginormous story of persona 5 into 12 episodes, that's why it feels a tad rushed.

Okay. So then a week later, episode two comes out.

Episode one was very well done(minus the slight rushed feel), and they animated the crosswalk scene with Arsene perfectly, and the pacing was decent.

But when episode two rolled along, I watched it, and... *sigh* ... oh boy.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to talk shit about the anime. This is my opinion.

The pacing was almost like they tried too hard to get a big amount of story into the episode.

In the game, after you and Ryuji accidentally stumble into the castle, his awakening is during the second visit(Correct me if I'm wrong XD).

And in the second episode, it feels like the story goes too fast.

I have been watching this on crunchyroll, and I was looking at the comments section after the episode was done. I wanted to know if I wasn't the only one who felt like this was way too rushed.

And all four comments said that they felt the pacing of the show was terrible.

Like I said, it's a big game. I get it.

They packed the rest of the first visit, including the MC's awakening, and all of the second visit(including Ryuji's awakening).

That's a lot.

But, all in all, the opening song and ending song are great, Ryuji is voiced by the guy who voices Dazai in Bungo stray dogs(♡), and the animation is spot on.

It's more like a comparison rant.

But I do recommend watching the show. Play the game first, you won't be disappointed.

The game is the original, and the anime is based off that, so play it XD.
