Chapter 17: Negativity
Will's P.O.V.
Sitting in this bed with a blurry vision you'd think I'm bired, right? Wrong. Right now, I feel rather useless since I can't step foot out of this room without suspecting I'll get slaughtered before I suspect a thing. The only way I can leave this room is when I have someone who Caroline trusts to guard me, and she only seems to trust Daphnea and Norasha. Another thing I've noticed is the fact everyone else is an obsidian-colored monster which is taller than two adult men. The only people who seem entirely human is Daphnea, Norasha, Aurora, Sepiar and Caroline but nobody else from what I've seen thus far. Unexpectedly, my vision I no longer pink and soon I see my eyesight come back. Incredible! I feel drool dripping on the side of my mouth and wioe it with my hand but when I look at it, I see it's not drool but a black substance which looks a lot like ink! How can this even be?! My hand grip onto my black hair and tug at it in frustration but I don't pull it too hard in order to avoid pain. "I'm back!" Caroline says loudly while swinging the door open unexpectedly.
I quickly cover my hand with the black stain by using the other hand to put on it. "We never really delt with blindness before but I'm getting the doctors to try find a cure right away." Carolin tells me and I appreciate her trying to help me, but... "Well, this will come as a surprise to you, but I'm not blind anymore." I tell Carolin and await her response. "What? How is that even possible?" Carolin asks me confused. "I don't know but it's back." Is what I say optimistically. "Well, I don't think it's something we can just ignore. Someone doesn't just randomly go blind and then it gets better after a minute or two. I'll still have those doctors try to make a cure for blindness." Carolin responds and she's right, going blind for that short a while and it immediately returning is just so odd. "Do you want to go anywhere?" Carolin asks me but I just silently shakes my head and then she leaves. The sky still looks like nighttime to me but it's always like that. Honestly, I feel like I'll never go home but I really want to stay here, it's just so hard for me to choose. I remove my hand to see the other hand is also stained from trying to cover that spot up. My wrists suddenly have crack-like markings show and my vision has a purple and pink tint, not making me go blind but I notice all around me are now pink and purple colors.
Carolin's P.O.V.
Sighing to myself I walk out through the halls and come across the large painting which always catches my eye, no matter how many times I've seen it. The god of darkness, Cerin. I've always admired his abilities since I was small and wondered what it would be like to meet him. The only downside of him to me is the fact his title reminds me of the evil inside of me, Darkness, of course. I have a feeling she wants to kill Will and the only way she can exist in reality is if she gains enough power to do so. The must be preparations for when she appears, I won't let her do anything to Will. He's been here in this unfamiliar world for months and I could teleport him back to his own world but I really don't. Perhaps I should ask what he thinks, though I bet it's going to be a yes. It would be incredibly selfish to just keep him here. My curiosity of The Illusionist suddenly grows and I have an idea, there's a book in my room filled with information of the gods. Speed-walking to my room which takes over a minute, I go to my bedside table and find a large book filled to the brim with information of those overpowered entities.
On page seventy-one, there he is, The Illusionist. Right now, I'm not curious of his origins though, I have a feeling there's something to remember of him and the word 'Origin' but I just can't bring myself to remember. My serpentine eyes look more and I find what I want to see most, his abilities. He has more abilities then just his eyes, but he's far too dependent on his illusions to the point he almost always forgets he even has other abilities and just makes people hallucinate. Those illusions may be a very powerful type of ability but that's no excuse to focus on that alone. Let's see here... Self-origin manipulation, the ability to control your own past... So that's why I was curious about the word 'Origin'. His second ability us called energy conversion, the power to absorb energy and focus it into a blast, it's powerful but I never heard of him using it's uses unfortunately. The third is shapeshifting, he can transform into anything he wants but people suspect it's an illusion. Last but not least of his abilities which aren't anything to do with mental capabilities, Holo manipulation... He can create holograms just by his imagination alone and show what he's thinking which I find would be useful
A sigh escapes my lips out of boredom. Soon, thoughts of Will's death plague my mind along with my castle being taken over. "No!" I tell myself since if I have negative thoughts, bad things are bound to happen if they're all I think about. I have to think positive! Another sigh escapes my lips which isn't boredom but just pure worry.
(Cerin is a reference to Razz in A god and his follower. Cerin is a name associated with darkness.)
(I'll explain the powers Will will inherit from the Illusionist since he seems to be fine with giving him his most powerful ability. Since this'll be the first time he uses the powers, the abilities will start off weak.
Origin-manipulation: The only thing he'll do with that is cause people to forget moments about him and even his existence .
Energy conversion: He'll only be able to absorb a small quantity of energy but won't be able to make blasts out of it.
Shapeshifting: He'll only be able to alter one part of his body at a time and also be able to change his clothes.
Hologram manipulation: He won't be able to make big or even medium sized holograms so he's pretty much just producing tiny lights.
