Preference #6: They Cry

Harry: It was the day after Cedric Diggory's horrible, tragic death and you hadn't seen Harry all day. To say you were worried about your raven haired boyfriend would be an ultimate understatement.

"Ron," You ran up to the redhead as soon as you spotted him among the sea of students in the corridor between classes, "Have you seen Harry today?"

"He's probably still in his room," Ron sighed, "I tried to get him to come to class but he refused to listen."

"I'm worried about him." You admitted aloud.

"So are we," He said referring to himself and Hermione, "But maybe you could go and see him? He might open up to you."

"I can give it a go," You agreed, "Thanks, Ron." Ron just gave you a smile before you made your way to the Gryffindor boys' dormitory, not caring that you still had classes today.

"Harry?" You softly called out as you pushed the door open, your heart breaking when you found him sat on his bed, knees pulled to his chest and tears rolling down his red face. He looked up for a second but as soon as he saw you, he broke, sobs racking his body while he squeezed his eyes shut, fresh tears streaming down his face. You wasted no time and rushed over, sitting next to him and pulling him into your arms. Harry wrapped his arms around you tightly and cried into your neck. You felt your own tears threatening to spill as you threaded your fingers through his knotted black hair.

"He's back," Harry sobbed, "Voldemort's back and he killed Cedric and I'm so scared that he's going to kill someone else, like you."

"Hey," You softly began, gently lifting his head so you could look at him, "I'm not going anywhere, okay? I promise."

"I love you."

"I love you, too." You smiled weakly, pressing a kiss to his forehead.

Ron: It was just after the Battle Of Hogwarts, after Fred had died and you couldn't bare to be away from Ron at a time like this so you'd gone home with him and the rest of the Weasleys, as did Harry and Hermione. Apart from the few tears he shed when he first found out Fred died, Ron hadn't cried. He hadn't really spoken, either, he was just very quiet and that worried you. You didn't want him to bottle it all up.

It wasn't until the two of you were alone that he let go. You'd only just got home and you both went to his room, where he sat on his bed and just broke. His tears filled his eyes and for once, he didn't try to hold them back, he let them fall as a sob left his body, followed by another, and another, and so on. Feeling that familiar lump form in your own throat, you walked over to your boyfriend and sat on his lap, straddling him and wrapping your arms around his neck. Ron wrapped his arms around you waist, clutching onto you for dear life, holding you so tight as if he were afraid that if he let go, he'd lose you, too. You bit your lip, trying hard not to lose it yourself as Ron buried his face in your neck and you felt his hot tears dampen your skin while he shoulders shook.

"He's gone, I can't believe he's gone." Ron sobbed.

"I know, baby, I know, shh," You cooed, running your fingers through his messy red hair. After a few minutes, you pulled away slightly and lifted Ron's head, cupping his face, your heart breaking even further when you saw his red, puffy, tearstained face.

"Listen to me, you're going to be okay. I know it hurts now, but it will get better, I promise. And I love you, okay? Don't you forget that." You said, gently wiping his tears away with your thumb.

"I know, I love you, too." He mumbled before softly kissing your lips.

Hermione: Everyone knows how smart Hermione Granger is. She's always top of the class and she's very proud of that, so when she found herself struggling with one particular assignment in DADA, it took quite the toll on her. You were both shocked and concerned when you found her in the library one day, on the verge of a breakdown.

"Hey," You chirped as you sat down next to her but the cheerful smile on your face fell as soon as you saw the tears threatening to spill from her big, brown eyes, "What's wrong?"

"I don't know what's wrong with me," She whimpered, "I can't do this, I don't understand it."

"Hey, it's okay," You put your hand over hers but she pulled it away.

"No, it's not! I've never not understood anything in school before, how am I supposed to get the best marks when I don't even know what I'm doing?!" She let a couple tears escape as she got more and more upset.

"'Mione, calm down, okay?" You took her hand and this time she let you, "You're the smartest witch in our year, being a little less than perfect at one subject isn't the end of the world. And I'll help you, okay? I'll stay up all night if I have to, until you understand this."

"Thank you, Y/N." She sniffled, wiping her eyes as you just smiled and leaned in to kiss her cheek.

Ginny: Ginny Weasley was one of the strongest people you knew. She rarely let things get to her, but sometimes she couldn't help it, like one day when she was having a particularly bad day anyway, and Draco Malfoy just went and made it worse. You didn't find out what had happened until you walked into the Gryffindor common room and found your girlfriend sat by the fireplace, in tears.

"Gin?" You frowned in concern as you went and sat down next to her, "What's wrong? What happened?"

"Draco Malfoy happened."

"What's he done?" You asked, already feeling angry at Malfoy for putting your girlfriend in this mood.

"He just started saying horrible things, insulting my family and calling us poor and gross and scruffy and then he said I'll... I'll never be good enough for you." She let out a sob as she finished explaining.

"That asshole," You muttered under your breath, trying to contain your anger towards the blonde wizard as you wrapped your arm around Ginny, "You know that's not true, right? You're definitely good enough for me, in fact, you're probably too good for me."

"I don't think that's true." Ginny snorted.

"Well, I do." You told her.

"I love you, Y/N."

"I love you, too, Gin." You smiled, pecking her lips.

Draco: Draco hadn't been himself lately. He'd been distant and quiet and you were starting to get worried. One day, you hadn't seen Draco all morning and heard someone saying they saw him go into Myrtle's bathroom so that's where you headed. When you got there, you swear you physically felt your heart crack inside your chest when you found Draco stood in front of the sinks, crying his eyes out.

"Draco," You gasped, causing him to spin round to look at you.

"Y/N," He choked out through a sob as you walked over and wrapped your arms around his neck. Draco completely broke then, burying his head in your neck as he began sobbing.

"Shh, it's okay, baby boy," You whispered, gently playing with his white-blonde hair.

"No, it's not," He wailed, "I don't want to do it, I don't want to be this person but he's going to kill me if I don't."

You just held him tighter and continued to shush him, whispering sweet nothings in his ear. You didn't know what he was talking about, but all you cared about was comforting him at the moment. Besides, you'd find out soon enough.
