The sorting ceremony had just finished as the students were chatting and laughing with their friends. Ashlyn was being acting jumpy but still relaxed at the same time and well the scar on her had had completely disappeared like it didn't exist. Surprising her friends as scars usually leave a mark and not disappear completely.

Dum-as-a-door was going about how Voldy shorts was back and that Harry fought him.

Ethan kemp's sneaking glances at Ashlyn as she talked to her best friend, Daphne Greengrass.

"I can see you stare." Said Ashlyn as she turned to look at Ethan a small blush spread on his face as he took her hand and kissed the ring that rested on her finger.

Truth be told he was always scared that she might leave him he knew he didn't deserve her Fred Weasel was right about that he really didn't.

He remembered the heart broken look she had given him when she found out that he had lied to her he had lied to her about his father and her finding out who her father was only due to stupid Dumble who went out and made the a big seen in their 5th year and told everyone who he was. He remembered the look Harry had sent him he loved his sister more than anything in the world the act that he played acting like he hated her and all snakes in front of everyone was part of the plan to get dumbldore off their backs and make him think that his plan worked.

He remembered her yelling at him, he remembered telling her that he was scared he remembered how she hadn't talked to him in weeks acting like he was this thing that caused her pain he remembered feeling crushed he knew he shouldn't have fallen in love with her but he had.
Their friends had locked them in his dorm for an entire day till they hadn't talked it out or in Leo's words "We'll open this door tomorrow at 11am be decent!"

She hadn't even looked at him he had started with an I'm sorry she looked blankly at him. Then he remembered yelling at her, him getting angry at everything and everyone.

"I'm not my father!"

"I know that." Was her reply in a soft whisper.

"Then why the heck are you ignoring me and not taking to me like it's all my fucking fault! Because you go around acting like we're all in love and you trust me with your life if you have to! Then you go and straight up ignoring me like it's all my faul.,"

"You want to know why I'm ignoring you? We'll I'm mad no scratch that I'm furious! And I'm aloud to be I really really mad at what your father did I'm mad at you for not telling me that he's your fucking father! It would have hurt a lot less if it came form you and not an asshole who's trying to ruin mine and my brothers life!"

Ethan didn't say anything Ash wasn't crying that's was one of the things he loved about her she didn't cry very often she he had seen her cry a couple of times after 3rd year had begun only because of the nightmares she had gotten.

"I was scared al right! I was scared that you would hate me I was scared that you would leave me that you wouldn't want to be my friend! I was scared that you would start seeing me as a monster that that you would leave me like every one does. I.."
Ethan was shaking and well crying he also generally didn't cry but he was .

"Ethan." She whispered softly and cupped his face in her hands and wiped some of his tears away with her thump. As he leaned slightly into her touch.

"I would never hate you for what your father did. What he did that's on him not on you. You aren't a monster Ethan, never were never will be. No matter what happens I'll never leave you. You wanna know why?"

Then a bang rang across the great hall and a flash of light shutting everyone up.

Ashlyn's eyes widened when she looked at he the people that fell down in a heap of the floor.
