What If Hermione was a Ravenclaw?
First What-If!
Requested by: UrNameHere001
I always thought Hermione would be a Ravenclaw anyways.
So, I'm not gonna do every single year at Hogwarts. Just 1st year and 5th year should be good. Really just the years which I've noticed have Ravenclaw in significantly. Especially in 5th year with the DA.
I know it's not a lot. But like, those are the two which mostly have Ravenclaw involved in them.
Here's how it's gonna go:
1st Year = Beginning, just a little start to the story as every Hogwarts student has
5th Year = All the DA, and Ministry enforced rules.

"Hermione Granger" Professor McGonagall called out.
Hermione nervously sat on the stool, and the sorting hat was placed on her head.
"Hmmmm, you have wit, pure intelligence I see. But with a mix of bravery, and determination. You would do good in Gryffindor, but perhaps not." The Sorting Hat thought, Hermione was still a nervous wreck.
'Perhaps, they find I'm not meant to be a witch?' Hermione thought hopefully. The sorting hat still hadn't made his decision, but he kept thinking.
"Uuuurrrrggggghhhhhh, why is this so difficult? Gryffindor, or Ravenclaw, Gryffindor or Ravenclaw? Ahh, I've made my decision dear one." The Sorting Hat adds.
"RAVENCLAW!!" He announces.
Hermione looked to see that all the Ravenclaws were cheering, and found slight comfort with them as she went by to sit with them. She caught a glimpse of Harry and Ron, while she had met them on the train, she felt in her place with all the other Ravenclaws.
/////-1st Year-\\\\\
Hermione was doing well, with her intellect. Unlike Harry and Ron who were made for trouble. She was getting top marks, answering every question with ease, even Ravenclaws' Head of House, Professor Flitwick was mildly impresses by the young girl's dedication to magic. She would make a very fine witch.
She mostly kept to herself, not talking to anyone unless spoken to. Even Snape had grown to a liking of the girl, which was rare considering Snape never liked anyone out of Slytherin. And one day Cho Chang decided to sit next to her during dinner, with her friend Marietta. Hermione was skeptical at first, but when Cho decided to chat with her, she complied.
Transfiguration, was some of the most easiest classes for Hermione, while she shared those classes with Gryffindor. And every single person would try and catch a glimpse of Harry Potter, the boy who lived. Hermione met him on the train, and knew he just wanted to be normal. Without all the endless fame.
She, Cho, and Marietta spoke with each other endlessly, and Hermione felt like she belonged. Because a Ravenclaw had wit, pure intelligence, it was natural that they had the highest marks.
But Draco, just loved taunting her.
"You think you're better than me? I'm a Pureblood, best type you could be. I'm not like you, you're a pathetic Mudblood." Malfoy spat.
"Why do you care Draco? Don't you have to brag about something to someone else?" Hermione retorts.
"Well, yeah I do. You're a Mudblood, and no one likes them, my father tells me that Mudbloods just can't qualify as wizards, or witches. It's simply impossible for those things, what are they called, oh yeah. You're a Mudblood, and no one likes you." Draco simply stated.
"You know, are all Purebloods like this? If so, I'm glad you can rarely find one." Hermione replies, choking back tears, and turned away and ran back to the Ravenclaw Common Room, where she put her back against the wall, her arms over her knees, and she put her head down, and cried.
Tears continued to fall from her eyes when Cho, and Marietta came in. When they saw her, they were absolutely concerned for their friend.
"Hermione? Hermione, what's wrong? What happened?" Cho asks with worry visible in her tone.
"M-Malfoy." Hermione makes out shakily.
"What about him? What did Draco do?" Marietta asks.
"H-He called me a Mudblood." Hermione finishes.
"HE DID WHAT!?" Cho screams.
"Cho, please. I don't want to cause any drama." Hermione says quietly.
"Hermione. If he called you that, it's most definitely not okay. You should be proud, you don't find that many witches Muggle-Born you know? Almost every Pureblood ends up in Slytherin anyway." Cho remarks.
"Still, I feel like we should make him pay for what he did!" Marietta argues.
"No, please. I don't want to create an enemy of mine in my first year." Hermione adds.
"Did you talk back to him?" Marietta questions.
"Of course I did! But I have a feeling he won't leave me alone." Hermione states, with tears welling up in her eyes again.
"How about we travel as a group? You know so that the bitch will know to keep his place, unless he wants his ass handed to him of course." Cho says with a wink.
"I'd love that, Cho. Thanks." Hermione says, and she and Cho hug each other.

The three girls continued to travel in groups, and Malfoy decided to show up, with Crabb and Goyle.
"Aww, lookie there. Two Ravenclaws are protecting a Mudblood." Crabb says with a little baby-talk.
Crabb approached the girls, with Goyle alongside him. Crabb opened his mouth to say something once more. Until Cho cut him off.
"I think you should keep all that shit you want to talk about Hermione amongst yourselves. Because while we're here. You keep your mouth shut, or I will permanently." Cho threatens.
Malfoy grew annoyed, "Fine. Crabb, Goyle. We need to go mock Potter." Malfoy mumbles.
The Slytherins leave. And Hermione realizes how lucky she is to have a friend like Cho. She decided, that she would treat Cho Chang, how she would treat her sister if she ever had one.
Then the year ended, news got out that Quirrell had died. Hermione was quite surprised, but she was in the same compartment as Cho, and Marietta. And then at that moment she knew, she found her friends which she would have throughout her wizarding journey.
/////-5th Year-\\\\\
Hermione sat with Cho, and Marietta on the Hogwarts express. They were talking about how the O.W.Ls were gonna be this year, and with all the new Ministry rules. But the topic they were all talking about was who the new Defense of the Dark Arts teacher would be.
When the train skidded to a stop, and the gates opened. Hermione, Cho, and Marietta exited the train, they caught a glimpse of Luna Lovegood, a fourth-year in their house. She was with Harry Potter, and his friend Ron, along with Ginny Weasley.
Hermione ignored the four, and kept up with Cho, and then the trio makes it into the Great Hall, but one thing Hermione noticed was that Professor Hagrid wasn't here. Who would teach Care of Magical Creatures now? She really needed to know, since she so badly wanted top marks on the O.W.L exams.
/////-Time Skip-\\\\\
Dumbledore rose from his seat, and the entire Great Hall went quiet, the four different house banners which had been covered in black at the end of last year were flowing bright with color, each representing the separate houses of Hogwarts. Since she was a prefect, she had more responsibilities than her friends. But this year, was gonna be crazy.
***VERY LONG TIMESKIP***
The first meeting of the Defense Against the Dark Arts club taking place in the room of requirements was taking place on October the 1st. Hermione, Cho, and Marietta were going. Along with multiple others from different houses.
The three make their way towards the Room of Requirements, and they enter to find a lot of others already in.
As others made their way, the meeting started, and Harry started teaching. It was a simple disarming spell, and Hermione could do it without saying a word. But she did place the charm on the piece of parchment with all the members names on them, and she charmed some Galleons for whenever a meeting was scheduled.
"And that's why she's in Ravenclaw." Zacharias Smith states.
"Well to be honest, the hat thought of putting me in Gryffindor at one point, but I'm in Ravenclaw." Hermione replies.
"Well," Harry speaks up, "The hat thought of putting me in Slytherin first, and I got put in Gryffindor."
"I mean, to me it means you have the qualities of the house you're in, and the one the hat considered putting you in, but your heart, your value belongs with the House you are in." Hermione says.
"Those, are some wise words, Hermione. No wonder you're the best in our year." Ron says, amazed.
Hermione smiled, and handed the last Galleon to Ron, who weighed it in his hand. With his red hair reflecting against the shiny, cool metal of the coin.
And the meetings of the DA continued for a while, Fred and George had made their great escape which was all anyone could talk about.
But through the midst of it all, betrayal occurred.
Harry was caught leaving the Room of Requirements by the toad, Umbridge. And Hermione used the charm she placed on the parchment with everyone's names on it.
And Harry had helped them see, Marietta released the secret of the DA.
"How could you Marietta!" Cho cries.
"Look, my mum might've lost her job if I hadn't said anything. I was trying to help her." Marietta argues.
"Marietta Edgecomb, if you'd have kept your mouth shut, everything would be fine! For your mum, and us! The DA meetings were the only way we could pass the Defense Against the Dark Arts O.W.L.s!" Hermione scolds.
"I-I" Marietta stutters.
Frustrated, Hermione whips around and storms away. Refusing to talk to anyone.
***
And that lead to the battle at the Ministry. But there, she nearly died. She was lucky to know that the Prophecy hadn't been found by Voldemort. She winced when she awoke in the Medical Wing, Cho had been visiting her frequently. While Marietta, Hermione just couldn't deal with her right now.
Maybe someday, maybe in their 6th year at Hogwarts.
