Snow Days Bonus Scene: 1

...

This bonus scene is the mentioned scene of when Walker jumps into the Black Lake during winter!

...

I had zero patience left.

The bloody idiotic girl standing in front of me either didn't seem to understand that Hufflepuffs actually had breaking points like normal people or she just didn't care. It wouldn't surprise me with the first, what with all the down-talking us badgers had.

"Walker," the girl, who's name I surprisingly didn't know and still don't know, sneered, "I didn't know you could do anything without Weasley to fight for you."

I scoffed, "You think I'd need a man to stand up for myself? Think again, you so-called 'lion'. You didn't dare to do this one-on-one, where there would be no one to stop us," I gestured around at the crowd that was hovering in a circle, watching excitedly, "but you seem fine doing it with dozens of others to watch, since they could take sides and keep someone from winning. You were going to talk me down, weren't you? Makes others help you win? Is that it?"

Her face turned red and the glare she sent our watching peers could've made plants wither, "Really? If you're so tough why don't we play truth or dare?"

"Fantastic," I turned in a circle with my arms spread, gesturing for the watching witches and wizards to join in, "Who's first?"

Someone stepped forward and pointed at a Slytherin bundled up in green and silver, "Truth or dare?"

"Truth," the Slytherin responded instantly.

I heard some of the Ravenclaws whispering that, if it had just been eagles, there would've been lots of veritaserum involved so there would be no lying. I laughed, a fake but convincible laugh, when the Slytherin was forced to admit their most embarrassing moment.

The game continued on in an uneventful way. Most picked truth and the few that picked dares didn't have anything grand to do. I was waited for someone to end the charade and pick the girl standing across from me with crossed arms.

My wish was granted when a Gryffindor called out to the girl, "Truth or dare!"

"Dare," her lips curved into a smug smile as she met my gaze. She radiated a challenge that I knew I would readily accept because I would not let these people see me back down, showing the stereotypical Hufflepuff.

The Gryffindor smirked, "I dare you to kiss a randomly selected person in this crowd."

"Deal," the girl pulled out her wand, "Should I? Or do you wish to do it?"

The Gryffindor gestured for her to do it so she held out her wand, set on her open palm, and whispered a spell that made it spin and rise up into the air. Everyone watched it as it continued to spin, slowing down at times but speeding up again when it seemed to change its mind. It slowed for the final time on a boy who's expression turned furious the moment the wand stopped to point at him.

"Oi, that's my sister!" he hissed and the crowd erupted into laughter.

"Oh, come on, dear brother," the girl snapped and walked over to him, rising onto her toes to press a kiss to his cheek, "Not that bad, right?"

He shoved her away, "Disgusting."

Everyone roared with laughter and the girl was pushed back to the center of the circle and she spun dramatically, arms out and hair fluttering behind her, and she stopped facing me. She tilted her head, "Walker, truth... or dare?"

"Dare."

The roar got impossibly louder at my answer and the girl's face turned surprised for a brief moment but she regained her composure and cupped her hands around her mouth, turning to the crowd for help, "What should it be?"

Many responses came back varying from downright illegal things to harmless fun. One caught the attention of the girl, though, because she pointed at a Ravenclaw fourth year and asked him to repeat it. He raised his voice and responded, "Have her jump into the Black Lake!"

"Thrilling," the girl responded with a grin, approaching me and taking me by the arm. She lifted my arm and shouted over the din that everyone else was causing, "Will Walker accept though?"

"Obviously!" I yelled, meeting the gazes of many people challengingly. I was going to do it, I had to do it.

Our peers surged forward, sweeping the girl and I out towards the shore of the lake. The water was clear and the sky could be seen easily reflected in it. The water was probably absolutely freezing but so what? That's why heating charms existed, I would just use one afterwards.

The girl paused on the edge of the water and turned back to the waiting witches and wizards, "Should we raise the stakes?"

A chorus of yes responded and I joined in as well because what was a little more danger, right? It's not like I would die from this dare.

"All right! Walker, I'll levitate you into the air, out over the water, and you have to swim back! Sound good?" the girl lifted her eyebrows at me, asking if I would back out or not.

"Let's do it!"

I didn't hear the exact response to my three words because she was already lifting me into the air with her wand. I quickly threw off my coat and scarf because those would just weigh me down and I spotted someone catching them.

The clear water was underneath me fully within seconds and the people on the shore were going wild. I saw her making a gesture asking if I was ready to be dropped and I pointed down, telling her to do it.

I was plunged into the freezing water and, before I knew it, the cold started to work its way around me. It numbed my limbs quickly but I kicked towards the surfacing, my face breaking through the icy water. My teeth were chattering and my lips were most definitely blue but I ignored the biting cold and started towards the shore... except, it seemed farther than it had when I'd dropped into the water.

Then, it hit me.

That prat! She'd sent me backwards while letting me fall. She'd made the dare even harder without my consent. I knew I could cast a spell and get myself out but I had already started it and I wouldn't back out now.

The cold said otherwise, though.

My limbs felt like lead and I was starting to slow down, the people pressed together on the shore seemed fuzzy and further away than they should've.

I tried to fight off my pain but I couldn't win against my body's natural response to shut down in the face of this much hurt. My vision turned black and spotty and I felt myself slip under.

...

"You idiot," I heard someone snap sort of jokingly when my eyes first fluttered open to blinding white.

The someone, a familiar red-haired someone, was glaring down at me and I blinked until he cam into focus, "Weasley?"

"Duh, you bloody freaking - "

"Weasley!" I heard Madam Pomfrey snap from somewhere else in the Hospital Wing.

"You bloody freaking idiot," he finished.

"How long've I been here?" I asked, lifting my right hand to inspect my fingers. They seemed fine, but I couldn't really feel them.

"Couple days. You got hypothermia and a bunch of other crap, according to Madam Pomfrey."

"Oh, great... do you have notes?"

"Of course I do, but you don't get them yet."

"How rude," I huffed, "I need those."

He sighed, "I'll come back tomorrow, after you've eaten and Madam Pomfrey has done her fifty more check-ups on you."

"Fine, I'm holding that to you though," I copied his sigh then, when he turned to leave,  I whispered, "Please do come back soon, Charlie."

He paused and he glanced back at me with a softened gaze, "Of course," he smiled, "Don't worry, I won't abandon you to deal with this misery alone."

"You're a lifesaver Weasley."

"No problem," he turned and called my name before he left, making me look up again, "Don't you dare send for Bill just to pester him into making me show up earlier!"

"I won't, I won't!" I protested, "How dare you assume that!"

"I know you, Walker," he smiled again and left, just as Madam Promfrey bustled over with a large tray of potions, food, and water.
