TGOF pt. 2

Fair warning, I don't have the Goblet of Fire as an available source since I don't have the books. As mentioned before the books are kinda banned in my household, so I'm going off memory and a bit of Wiki Fandom, but I don't trust Wiki much.

Therefore the events of the book are not accurate, at all, like at any sort of closeness. So do forgive that most of this is incorrect. (Should have mentioned this in pt. 1, oops.)

Eva watched as Cedric put his name in the cup. Eva could bet it would be him, he seemed to be the only one in his year that had the qualities needed which were mostly just smart and brave.

She watched as students from Drumstrange and Beauxbatons placed their names in the cup, all hoping it would be them. She even watched as younger students got thrown back as they tried to fool the age line. Eva scoffed as the day of the choosing, the Weasley twins approached the age line.

Hermione explained to them that it wouldn't work. They insisted that because it was so dimwitted it would work. It had not and they got into a scuffle as old versions of themselves.

-----------------------

"Ladies and Gentlemen, it is the time!" Dumbledore announced.

He walked up to the cup and soon enough a burnt piece of parchment flew out and into his hand. "Viktor Krum!"

His class congratulated him as he stood up with a big smile. Even the other two schools clapped for him before another parchment was spat out.

"Fleur Delacour!"

While Fleur looked happy all the other girls were crying or glaring at her. Clearing they wanted to be the best and were sullen when not chosen.

"Cedric Diggory!"

Everyone congratulated him as he stood up with a massive smile. Eva thought his smile was rather charming, not that she was about to tell anyone that.

Suddenly the fire roared again and all the cheering stopped. One last piece of parchment flew out.

"Harry Potter,"

Our heads snapped to him as he sunk into his seat. Dumbledore's face twisted into a look of rage. It shocked everybody.

"DID YOU PUT YOUR NAME IN THE GOBLET HARRY?!" Dumbledore asked in an anything but calm manner.  Harry shook his head wildly.

Hermione and Eva looked equally shocked and frightened, but Ron looked jealous. A snide look crossed his face but no one noticed him.

"What's going on?" Eva asked Harry. "Did you?"

Once again he shook his head, she believed him but that didn't matter. He would have to participate if he wanted to keep his magic.

--------------

Hours later Harry walked back to the tower terrified for his life. He was about to participate in a potentially life-threatening event, against his will.

When he got back the common room seemed divided between supportive, jealous, and confused as to how this was happening. Ron was jealous, Hermione was confused, and Eva was just trying to be supportive of her best friend.

"Whatever it is I'm going to help you through this," Eva told him as he confessed his fear that night.

-----------------------------

As the days passed it was clear that Slytherin, mainly Draco, was trying to turn the rest of the school against him.

Slytherin was against him, of course, Gryffindor was mostly on his side, but Ravenclaw was divided, and Hufflepuff seemed obligated to support their own champion. The other two schools were also hell-bent on supporting their own champion so they mostly just ignored the boy.

They had quickly learned the first task would be on November 24t. Until then Harry, Hermione, Eva, and sometimes Ron would try to find what it is as well as learn how to overcome the challenge.

It wasn't until a few weeks before the date, about two weeks to be exact, that Cedric approached Harry.

"I know what the first task is," Cedric told him in a hushed but worried tone.

Harry began to freak out. "What is it?"

"Dragons Harry, we have to face dragons!"

This obviously alarmed him. "What? How do you know?"

"I saw them, out in a clearing, with Charlie Weasley,"

The Weasley name confirmed the suspicion. Charlie loved dragons, they were his babies, and often talked about them like one would talk about their own children.

"Why are you telling me this?" Harry asked suddenly.

"It's not right that you have to compete, I just wanted to make it easier," Cedric told him before leaving.

"Thanks!" Harry called after him but got no reply.

---------------------

As soon as he told the others they began to hatch a plan. Harry couldn't rely on spells, as he wasn't exactly the most knowledgable and he can't use Expelliarmus on a dragon. Though the Expelliarmus thing was a weird joke Eva had made up when they were brainstorming.

But then they figured if he could get his hands on his broom, he just might have a chance.

He couldn't bring the broom with him so Accio would have to work. So they practiced as much as they could, hoping it would be enough when it came to it.

On the day of the event, Harry was taken in the early morning. For press and other boring things that Eva and the others wanted no part of.

They got ready in the stands of the Quidditch pitch, nervous for their best friend who probably wasn't prepared for the event, he had been struggling with Accio.

----------------------

Viktor Krum went first, having blast spells at the dragon to get around it.

Fleur went next, she tried to sneak around it but got burned in the process. Eva felt bad for her, she tended to like Fleur in ways that others didn't. Though that was because other girls were intimidated by her, Eva just saw her as a nice girl.

Cedric went next. doing a combo of both spells and sneaking past the dragon.

That meant Harry went last, and boy did he look afraid. He tried to hide it but Eva and co could see right past his eyes of determination.

At first, he focused on seeing if he could sneak past like the others, but when that didn't work he whipped out his want.

"Accio Broomstick!" And just like that it came flying to him, granted it took a moment but it did work. the crowd went silent with surprise and Harry used his seeker skills to the test. He easily got past the dragon and scooped up the end that it guarded.

Soon Eva and Co were able to get to Harry and congratulate him on his accomplishment against the dragon.

Although Harry was being modest when he told them he couldn't have done it without his help he did appreciate the congratulations from all of them. Because as Eva thought it, without pure inner will Harry would never be capable of anything he has done.
