We all know the headcanon that Luna is a seer, I wanted to do my own one-shot on it.

Luna always knew what she was. When she started having dreams when she was 5, about small things that would happen the next day her parents knew exactly what she was and what she could do. They explained to her that she could see the future, but she also soon learned she was an empath. She could also feel auras, as well as emotions. That was fine but when she turned 9 she could see other things, Nargles, creatures that swarmed others heads, influencing there actions and thoughts. Those troubled more attracted more Nargles.

But then she learned just how important seers are, anyone who knew, which wasn't many would nag her about her dreams, or about their emotions, or the emotions of others. It became tiresome, always answering questions she often didn't know the answer to. She decided no one could know. When she got to Hogwarts she kept all but the Nargles to herself. But then she seemed to understand just how much that it could effect her each day.

It was the great hall that bothered her the most, the constant Nargles, mostly by the Slytherins. It was Draco Malfoy who had the most she had ever seen. She could see a dense swarm whiz around his head and shoulders. She could figure out why, her dreams told her of course. Well glimpses of course, glimpses of his home life, the credulity of his father, the pressures of his mother. Then moving on to Neville, he had quite the amount as well, she could also figure out why quickly enough. His parents were part of most glimpses, the flashes of them not knowing who he is. As well as his grandmother, the woman who cared but with an iron fist.

Then there was the Golden Trio, Harry understandably had the most Nargles of the three, which increased rapidly in third year when Sirius Black first was loose. That didn't mean he didn't already have a ton, but the pressure to stay safe from everyone, trying to avoid the convict seemed to weight him down a bit too much at times. Then there was Hermione, the one with the next great amount, it was after she learned what that horrid name meant. Mudblood that is, the cruel name that Malfoy seemed to be obsessed with calling her. They seemed collect more near exam periods or when something not so normal with Harry would occur.

Lastly Ron, still with own dozen but not nearly the same as the other two. Luna thinks it's the pressure to be like Percy, not the fun loving twins that was indeed a bit more comparable to Ron. It was also probably the fact that it was clear his mother didn't favor him, or that everyone in the school seemed to know his families financial situation mostly because of Malfoy.

But of course Luna had her own Nargles. Well when she was little she didn't have any but after her mother died when she was young they seemed to like her more. And of course there was the opinions about her and her dad. She was whimsical, staring at Nargles all day, but she wasn't stupid. Luna knew very well about the name Loony, but she didn't mind. But the opinions on her dad did seem to bother her a bit more. They just saw him as a careless, extravagant, excitable man who didn't really know how to take care of himself or his daughter. But Luna couldn't have asked for a better father, the man who taught her how to be who she is today. If it wasn't for him she would be lost.

But like mentioned Nargles was only a part of it. The dreams were totally different. She could see parts of the future, but she could also see glimpses of the past, usually other's past experiences. That how she knew why Draco was so troubled, that's why she couldn't bring herself ever to be mad at him like all her friends were. It why she always let Hermione study without nagger her like all her other friends, always trying to get her to do something other than studying. She knew of Hermione's deep fear of not truly being a witch, of always being an outcast, it why she worked so hard to reach her exams. But then she was the first to know about Ginny and Harrys relationship, because she knew 6 months before they did. But what she didn't realize she would know would be how Dumbledore died, or that she knew about how Voldemort would be defeated 8 months in advance

But what she also knew is that any whisper about the truth could make it not happen, preventing Dumbledore's death could have been in turn prevent Voldemort's demise. So she kept it to herself, the good and the bad, all of it.
