Return pt. 1

James' POV

"If trapping me in a box is Sirius' way of pranking me, it's a little dull," James thought to himself.

But getting the lid off the box proved to be harder said than done. There seemed to be more than enough force keeping the lid closed tight. Nothing he did was working and James was starting to panic. He felt around for his want and found it near his head. After shimming it near his hand he grabbed it and pointed it at the roof.

"Bombarda," He whispered and watched as the roof of the box exploded as well as quite a lot of dirt.

He was presented with a deep hole in the ground. He looked around to see his dear Lily climbing out of a similar hole.

Now he thought about it, where were they? And where was Harry?

He found his answer when he was faced with headstones with his and Lily's names on them.

"Oh, dear..." Lily whispered as she approached the headstone.

The cemetery they stood in was empty, thankfully as it would be weird to see two dead people climb out of their graves. Though they didn't look very dead, James noted.

-----------------

They walked to the nearby town that was probably only a mile away. They looked for something that would tell them where they were, which they found quickly. There was a local newspaper, with the location and date written on the corner.

But 1998 didn't seem right. Then again the headline about a boy with the same name as his son didn't seem right either. Had it really been 17 years? It had to have been, they were the ones climbing out of graves.

"We have to see Harry," Lily exclaimed.

"But where?"

"Seeing as we're dead, Grimmauld,"

And with a spin, that's exactly where they were. They knocked on the door, instead of landing in the living room as they used to.

A boy, Harry, the same on the cover of the newspaper, opened the door with his wand raised.

"I'd rather not die again," James joked with his hands up.

Harry raised an eyebrow. "Again?"

Lily elbowed him sharply. But before she could say anything Harry spoke. "You're not the only dead person to come back in the last few hours,"

He let them into the house. Walburga's painting was still there, yelling profanities as usual.

A female voice yelled into the great hall. "WOULD YOU SHUT UP YOU OLD FUCKING HAG!?"

James and Lily glanced at each other.

"That would be Eva," Harry sighed. James racked his head for who 'Eva' could be. Wait for a second that's his goddaughter, Evangeline Lupin and she sure did have Remus' mouth.

Harry stopped them before they could get to the kitchen and told them to wait. He stepped through and started talking to who was on the other side.

"So my parents are alive," Harry laughed, it was a little maniacal.

The door was yanked open to reveal an excited Sirius and Remus. Eva and a toddler they, obviously, didn't know were right behind them. Sirius came and wrapped them in a massive hug.

"Looking good for a dead guy," Sirius laughed.

"Thanks, man!" James laughed and hugged Remus as well. "How have you been?"

"Well, also dead," Sirius admitted. James' and Lily's eyes widened.

"Oh, and you Remus?" Lily asked as she hugged Sirius.

"Er, I was dead too..." Remus admitted as well.

"So you two came back from the dead as well,"

They nodded.

"When was the war?" Sirius asked the teens.

"About 6 months ago, it's Halloween now, it was May 2nd,"

------------------------------

A few hours later they get a knock on the door. This time Eva grabs it.

"Dora?'

"Hey Eva, so one moment I'm running from Dolohov the next moment I wake up in the ground,"

"Take a number," James bluntly states. Remus and Lily elbow him making him wince.

"Uh, wasn't he dead?" Tonks asked. Eva nods and shows her parents as well as Lily.  "Oh, so this is the walking dead,"

"It appears so," Harry agreed.

"Teddy is here," Eva tells her, and Tonks' eyes light up.

Her hair turns yellow as she asks to see Teddy.

Eva nods as they walk into the kitchen. "He didn't really grasp that you died so tell him you've been on vacation or something,"

"He's also like 10 months old," Harry states.

Eva considered that. "Ok, that's true,"

"Anyway, can I see him?"

Harry nodded and left, he came back with a ten-month-old with blue hair. But there wasn't an ounce of recognition in his eyes when he saw Tonks.

"Oh, man..." Eva whispered sadly. "I'm really sorry,"

Although Tonks looked dejected she seemed understanding. "It's ok, but I'd like to hold him,"

With that, Harry handed his godson over. She cooed at her son who giggled happily.

Eva turned to the group. "It seems everyone but those who died on May 2nd are coming back the say they died,"

"And what about those on May 2nd?"

"Random it seems, Remus came back a month ago, but Tonks?" Harry said trying to put the puzzle together.

"This morning," Tonks said. "We should call Hermione,"

Eva looked pointed at her. "Who is at Hogwarts redoing her last year,"

"Right," Tonks sighed. "And where was I anyway?"

"Wizarding London's memorial for the fallen, but my parents were at Lupin Cottage," Eva explained.

"It was weird to see Remus' grave next to mine," Sirius shuttered.

"You want to know the real funny thing?" Harry asked and he received several nods.

"We turned Sirius into a firework due to his will,"

"Uh that was a joke," Sirius laughed having forgotten that.

"Yep, shot it off on his birthday that year," Remus sighed before hugging his husband. "But we're here now,"

James was on the floor in tears. "That is the most amazing thing I have ever heard!"

Even Lily let out a giggle. Tonks and Sirius were laughing as well. Eva was somewhere between not wanting to relive that moment and wanting to laugh, Remus was the same. They both gave into the laughter, it was certainly an odd moment. Molly had a fit when she learned what the rocket was made from.

----------------------------

A couple of hours later they were all in bed. Eva was in her room. Tonks was in another room with Teddy. Harry was in a second guest bedroom. Sirius and Remus were in Sirius' room. Lastly Lily and James were in Regulus' old room as no one wanted to sleep in the master bedroom.

It was about 2:45 am when a shout of terror echoed from Harry's room. Everyone shot up and bolted to the sound. Eva went into the room first and woke up Harry who looked around wildly.

"It was Cedric's death," He whispered as he sat up.

Lily and James watched carefully. They knew they weren't close enough to comfort him themselves.

"Tell me about it," Eva said softly. "All of it,"

They learned that by retelling what had happened they were able to get over their nightmares quicker.

"I remember celebrating the win with Cedric," Harry said after he nodded. "We had agreed to grab the cup at the same time but it took us to that graveyard,"

Lily and James looked at Sirius. "There was a triwizard tournament in their 4th year, Harry accidentally got chosen because a Death Eater tampered with the Goblet of Fire,"

"What happened next," Remus asked. Of course, he knew but this was part of the therapy.

Harry gulped before continuing. "Then Pettigrew showed up,"

Everyone in the room shuttered.

"He took us and led us to other death eaters," Harry told them. "He then started going on about how loyal he was, and how rewarded he would be, so he sliced my palm and took some blood. Then he poured it into the cauldron and whatever else was in that cauldron had brought back Voldemort,"

Lily and James were horrified, the others just saddened.

"He ordered the deatheaters to 'kill the spare' so they did, that's when Eva woke me up," Harry finished.

"Thank you for telling us," Tonks said softly, letting her hair turn a dusty blue, mirroring her remorse.

He laid back down and turned over. "Please leave,"

Eva patted his arm twice before following his wishes. They followed her out in silence. It was in the hall that Lily turned to Eva.

"Does he dream about that a lot?"

Eva shrugged. "Once a week usually, the others being other horrid memories,"

"Is there anything we could do?" James asked.

"Your guys' presence was more than enough tonight," She smiled. "The things we went through though, it's enough to put anyone into a mental hospital,"

Their mouths went dry. "What do you mean?"

"I tell you more tomorrow," She then turned to her parents.

"We are telling them everything,"

That left James and Lily to wonder what exactly everything was?

------------------------------

Hey guys, I'm going on vacation tomorrow. (Yay me!) Therefore there will be a pause in updates while I spend time with my family.

I will be writing but I won't be updating, 1. so I don't stress. 2. So I don't have to deal with the time change. 3. So I can create an inventory of chapters for all of you guys.

See you guys sometime next week!
