You had gone for a walk in the forest surrounding the castle, but you didn't pay enough attention to the dangers that were hidden amongst the tees. Many creatures lived happily there but they didn't all appreciate witches and wizards exploring the area and some of them made that known to you. You tried your best to fight off what was trying to attack you, but you weren't the best with your wand, nor were you a capable fighter. It seemed like the end but Godric had seen you stupidly heading off into the forest and followed, knowing how terrible it could go.

Godric saved your life but was far from unscathed by the altercation. You had to assist him back to the castle and tried to help him patch himself up, as you owed him at least that much.

"You shouldn't have put yourself in danger for me," you frowned, washing off the blood and dirt around his wounds with a damp washcloth. "You could have been killed."

He let out a laugh, trying to hide the wince of pain from you touching his wounds. "I would do anything for you."

You shot him a look. Although you and Godric were courting, you hated the fact that he put you ahead of himself, even when it was a terrible idea.

"And I appreciate that, Godric. I love you but it will be very hard to love you so much if you were killed by your own stupidity by running into the forest after me and fighting every creature that lives there."

Godric shrugged his shoulders. "Sometimes all you need is twenty seconds of insane courage or twenty seconds of embarrassing bravery."

You rung out the washcloth again before grabbing the cloth that you were using as a bandage to help protect his wound from infection.

"I admire your courage and bravery, kind sir, but I do not want them to be your downfall, which they certainly will become if you do not care for your safety more than my own," you berated. "Please do not let yourself be blinded by your heart."

He moved a hand up to cup your cheek so that he could pull you closer to him in a gentle and loving kiss.

"I shall always put your safety ahead of my own, it is what you do for the one you love. I shall always be there to protect you."
