Friday night quidditch

Pinterest idea I found. I made this before I made the book into a Drarry book, so unfortunately no Drarry yet.

Sneaking out had never been a problem for Harry. With his invisibility cloak, and his quiet footsteps from sneaking around in the Dursley's home, Harry had never been found when he didn't want to be.

Sneaking out to the quidditch pitch on Fridays was not hard. Sometimes Harry would go without his cloak. There were next to no professors checking the halls, so it was the perfect night to have quiditch games.

Usually there would be large groups of giggling students also heading out to the pitch. All four houses came out and played on fridays, which caused there to be huge amount of people.

One fun part of these Friday night games was that there was no dress code so almost everyone just wore their PJs. It was always cool to see people out of their official uniforms.

Malfoy had come every Friday too, and it extremely amusing watching him attempt to stay on his broom with his silk PJs. Yet every Friday he would return waiting those same silk PJs. Actually he was getting fairly good at flying with his slippery red plaid pants.

When everyone was there and ready, people would decide who were the team captains. Anytime Harry was voted as team captain, he would decline. He didn't need anymore attention then he already got. Often times there were two hufflepuff captains since they made the teams fair.

"Can't we play without the first years?" Malfoy complained. There was a glimmer in his eyes, it was fairly obvious he didn't mean what he said.

"Can't you get different Pajamas?" A first year asked cheekily. Malfoy trying to hide his smile didn't bother come up with a reply.

There were a few bets going around like usual. A few on which player will fall off first, a couple on who would catch the snitch and the most popular bet; if Malfoy would slip off his broom because of his silk PJs this time or not.
It hadn't happened yet, but lots of people were waiting for it. Even a few Slytherins.

Mounting their brooms, the positions were decided. Harry was seeker as usual. Ron was a chaser today, along with Malfoy. Hermione was the medic like usual. Somehow the hufflepuff captains managed to put all the students there on the field. Jordan of course was speaker, who else would?

Wood was basically the brain of this operation. He was the one who organized the Friday night quidditch. Lock picking was one of his talents. That was how he got the brooms for everybody.

"On your mark," wood called, "get set." There was completely silence as everyone waited in anticipation. "GO!" With that, a large amount of brooms quickly took off, and the game started.

Taking off was probably the hardest part due to excessive broom bumping and the amount of people. The older kids would always wait for the younger ones so they were less likely to get hurt. Once they were up, the game wouldn't stop unless the snitch was caught, everyone was exhausted or someone was injured.

Everybody always had a blast. Malfoy would complain about everything, but it was obvious he was having the time of his life. The younger kids would either play tag, or try to get the quaffle. There was also a rule that you weren't allowed to hit anyone below third year, with a bludger. This allowed the younger kids to just have fun and not have to worry. The younger kids were also allowed to stop whenever they wanted.

Neville was the other seeker today, and he was actually getting way better. Ever since he'd gained a bit more confidence, and gotten his own wand instead of his father's, he'd gotten better at just about everything. Well except Herbology. He probably couldn't any get better at that if he tried. Who knows though, he might surprise everyone again. Like when puberty hit him like a truck.

Harry had spotted the snitch three times so far, but it was too early to grab it. If he grabbed it, then the game would be over. That's why he never grabbed it in the beginning of the game, it would mean they barely played. Neville too had ignored the snitch twice. He saw what Harry was doing.

Malfoy passed by with the quaffle. He nearly slipped off his broom, but then he got a better grip and he returned to the game. He scored and flew back to Harry and Neville who looked slightly sad.

"What's gotten your knickers in a twist?" Malfoy asked with a grin.

Neville spoke up, "thought this would be the time you finally slipped off your broom with those pants. Then I could finally say 'I told you so'."

Malfoy smirked teasingly and flew away. Malfoy was noticeably nicer when the teachers weren't around. Especially Snape. Harry had realized long ago that Malfoy was only rude when Professor Snape, or an extremely biased pureblood was around.

Soon everyone became tired and Harry decided it was about time to end the game. When Harry spotted the snitch, he attempted to get it. Somehow Neville had gotten to it first. So they all began to clean up the pitch and remove all evidence they were even there in the first place. It made things far easier for Wood if everyone helped.

Food was brought out by the house elves. When they found out about Friday night quiditch they had wanted to help somehow. So now they got a bunch of fruit and desserts after every game. They had a lot of watermelon today.

People were rather exhausted. Today was Slytherin's turn to host the sleepovers. Quietly everyone snook back in, going towards the dungeons where mattresses were already laid out for them to sleep. With all the giggling and stumbling, it was a miracle no teachers ever caught them, even if the painting did help and warn them if a teacher was coming.

When in the slytherin rooms, they started playing games like exploding snap, truth or dare, and trying out Fred and George's latest inventions. They did this until they fell asleep of exhaustion. It was always a fun tradition for everyone to join in.

Back on a higher floor Minerva headed up to Albus' office.

"Ah Minerva! Nice to see you," Dumbledore spoke when she came in. "How was Friday night quidditch?"

"Good. No one got injured, and there was enough food. Unity of the houses seems a little closer than usual. Although, Albus we should make this an official thing. They may get the idea that they can sneak around whenever they want."

"Minerva, if we did that, then it would ruin the whole purpose for them. They enjoy breaking rules and this is a good way for them to do it. Either way, the school has been a much better place ever since this was introduced."

Minerva sighed, and headed back to an empty Gryffindor. There was no use in arguing with Dumbledore.

"Alright Albus. I'll be leaving now if you don't mind," she huffed.

Albus looked up at her with a twinkle in his eye. "Did Malfoy fall of his broom this game Minerva?"

Minerva shook her head.

"Alright, goodnight Minerva."

When she had left, Albus promptly turned to a painting. "Could you do me a favor?" The person in the painting agreed. "Please tell Snape he owes me three sickles."
