Part three of Never Make A List and Shout-out To My Ex...

Summary - Katelyn tries one more time to explain that she didn't cheat on Hermione and see if she shouldn't take the opportunity in Hawaii

A Day Later 

Katelyn's POV

"Mom, I'll be back!" I called as I threw on my hood. 

"All right, honey! Be careful!" my mom called back.

"I will!" I said then muttered, "try" 

I walked down the sidewalk as the rain started to come down in a soft mist. I looked up and saw the sun blocked by the gray clouds. It matched the way I was feeling. Ever since Hermione broke up with me I've felt like this. The only reason I get out of bed is because of Arthur, the boy my mom adopted. 

He's come into my room every morning to help me get ready for the day. Telling me everything will be ok...even if he knows it might not be. He was like me. An experiment that needed to be trained. 

Our DNA was fused with a dire wolf and one other animal. Mine was a dragon just like Draco's and Arthurs. I was a scarlet-colored dragon with black spikes, Draco had a dark green-colored dragon with pure white spikes, and Arthur was a cobalt-colored dragon. Freya's was a porcupine and Carters was a snapping-turtle. 

I walked towards the Southside of town and made my way to the Granger Household. The house was beautiful. I have only been here twice in the four months we were together. 

It was much better than mine but I never minded. I always liked my house, it was where I grew up. 

I walked up the driveway and knocked on the front door. I could hear laughing and talking on the other side, somewhere in the living room. After a couple of minutes, I saw Wendell, Hermione's father coming down the stairs. 

He got to the bottom and turned towards the door. When he saw me his face hardened. He walked to the door and unlocked it, opening it up. 

"What are you doing here?" he asked, harshly. 

"I want a chance to explain-" 

"So you can feel less guilty for cheating on my daughter?" he snapped, pushing me back. I stumbled slightly. 

"No, sir! I-" 

"Get off my damn property! You are not allowed near my daughter or my house again!" he said. 

"If you let me explain-!" 

"Explain what?! That you fell in love with another girl while dating my daughter?! We don't need to hear it! She's doing fine without you!" he growled angrily. 

I closed my eyes and a tear slipped down my cheek. I backed away from the door and into the driveway. "Dad?" Hermione asked as she appeared next to him. I opened my eyes to see her one more time. 

She was well...hot. She was wearing gray sweatpants, a white tank top, and her brown hair was in a bun. 

She stared at me in confusion, "what are you doing here?" her tone was laced with venom that I expected. 

"She wanted to explain so she could feel less guilty," her father said, clenching his hands into fists. 

I shook my head, "sorry for all the trouble I've caused" I said barely loud enough to hear over the wind. 

"Hermione? What's going on?" a girl asked as she came out. She was cute but she had nothing on Hermione. 

The girl had black hair, brown eyes that were almost black, and had a cheerleader's body. 

Hermione turned towards the black-haired girl and that's when I ran. I disappeared into the trees and ran back towards the Northside where Draco, Carter, Freya, and Arthur were waiting for me. 

My heart officially broke. 

I thought, maybe, I could explain what happened and I'd still have a chance but that all went out the window when that girl came out of the house. 

The rain came down harder and so did my tears. 

Two Hours Later  

I hugged my mom, "I love you" I whispered. 

"I love you too, sweetheart" she whispered back, "remember to call and it's only three months! You'll be back for Senior year" 

I pulled away with a smile, "you're right" I kissed her cheek. "Go get dad back, mom. You have to be blind not to see that you still love him...but if Harry doesn't want to listen about what I am then...don't worry about it" 

She smiled through her tears and nodded. Arthur hugged both of us. I picked him up after and we said our goodbyes to mom, Mr. and Mrs. Malfoy, and Mr. Carmen. They waved to us as we drove away in the company van. 

One Hour Later - Hermione's POV

I walked up to the Evans door and knocked on it. I personally liked my ex-girlfriend's house. It was beautiful. 

A second later the door opened and Lily Evans stood in the doorway. The wind was chilly causing a shiver to run down my spine. 

"Hermione...what can I help you with?" she asked. 

"I was wondering if Katelyn was here? She stopped by my house and my dad went nuts...I never actually got to speak to her" I replied. 

"Yes, she told me she was going over. I'm afraid she isn't here. She just left for a scholarship opportunity" 

"When will she be back?" 

Lily smiled sadly, "three months, dear. She was going over to your house to see if she could fix things to see if she should stay. I don't think she did" 

I looked down at the ground and shuffled my feet before looking back up, "why would she think I could make her stay?" I asked softly. 

"She loves you" Lily replied, "and honey...she never cheated on you. Draco and Carter accidentally wrote the friend they were going to sees name at the top of the paper. Those things were about you...just something to think about. You don't have to take my word for it but I thought you should know"

She patted my shoulder, "run along dear. You don't want to catch a cold" 

I nodded, "thank you"
