Jobberknolls (Severus x Harry)
A/N: Harry is in his 6th year, so he's 16. Pretty much all the names I put in here are students in their 6th year or teachers.
Harry Bianchi definitely wasn't normal. He stayed away from everyone, enjoyed Astronomy, and was great at DADA. He was a Ravenclaw, but stuck to studying alone. He ignored most offers of friendship and wasn't afraid to defend himself.
Severus wasn't a stalker or something, he was just observant. That's all. No, he did not have a crush on Bianchi and he did not want to be friends, Bianchi was just intriguing.
The Slytherin was roused from his thoughts when his blond friend, Lucius, nudged him.
"You're staring again. You should just go talk to him!" He whispered quietly, making sure to not catch the attention of the Ravenclaw a few tables away from them.
"No, he probably hates me already."
"You haven't even talked to him!"
"Have you seen the way he talks to others? He avoids everyone, it would be best to not bother him." Lucius stood up and confidently strode over to the table.
"Hello, Harry." He said, sitting down. Severus groaned and followed him.
"Malfoy, Snape. What do you want?" He didn't close the book. Lucius poked his hand.
"Close the book for a minute." Bianchi glared, but complied.
"What?"
"We were just curious about what you're reading."
"I am reading about magical bird eggs."
"Why?" Harry sighed.
"I found eggs in the forest and was wondering what they are."
"Can we see?" Lucius asked, grinning like a child. Bianchi crossed his arms.
"Why do you want to see them?"
"We're just curious, honest." Severus replied quietly.
"You'd better not report me to Dumb-As-A-Door for having magical creatures in the castle." Lucius snorted in amusement. He carefully took three eggs out from his satchel and set them on the table. They were all quite small and the color of robin eggs. Lucius examined them with caution.
"Do you know what they are?" Severus questioned.
"I believe that they are Jobberknolls. Jobberknolls are small, blue birds. They are silent until their death, where they scream every sound they've ever heard in reverse. Their feathers are used in Truth Serums and Memory Potions." Malfoy's brows rose.
"That's kind of weird. What do you plan on doing when they hatch?"
"Taking care of them until they can fly. When they are able to fly, I will let them go in the forest."
"And if we tell?" Harry shot both of them a dangerous look.
"I will find more, raise them, hide them in both of your dorms when they're about to die, and then you will have to suffer through the shrieks and screams." Lucius whistled.
"We weren't planning on telling anyway."
"Good." Harry stood up, put his book back, and walked out of the library. Lucius smirked.
"That went well." Severus scoffed.
---------------------------------------------
Harry was sprawled across his bed, the three eggs on a special heated pillow next to him.
Why did Malfoy and Snape want to talk? They've barely spoken to him before, so why now? What did they really want? 'Not everyone has an ulterior motive in mind, Harry.' He thought to himself. Harry now hoped that they would just leave him alone, he didn't like these conflicting emotions.
Harry put the eggs in his trunk with a heat lamp and went to sleep, tomorrow would be a better day.
----------------------------------------------
A week later...
Harry frowned as a note fell on the table. Several other students from the Ravenclaw table noticed, they sent him curious looks. The emerald eyed student opened it.
How are the eggs?
S and L
Harry took a piece of parchment out and wrote a quick note.
I think that they'll hatch soon, one of them started moving this morning.
H
Harry sent it back with a spell and waited for their response. It came about a minute later.
Can we watch them hatch? We could make notes on them or something.
S and L
Harry scribbled his note down, people were watching him.
Fine. I'll be by the lake. 4 o'clock sharp.
H
He sent it to the Slytherin table.
Are we allowed to bring a few people? Just Regulus and Bellatrix.
S and L
Whatever, I don't care. Just don't be late.
H
---------------------------------------------
Harry sat by the lake, it shimmered in the sun light beautifully. Three blue eggs were laid in front of him on a pillow.
The Slytherins arrived at 4 o'clock, Harry appreciated the punctuality.
"Harry! Have you been waiting long?" Malfoy sat down next to him.
"No." Bellatrix skipped down to where they sat and plopped herself down in front of Harry, making sure to not sit on the eggs.
"Your surname matches your skin tone. I'm guessing that your father was Italian and that your mother was Irish?" Harry frowned.
"We're here to observe the eggs, not me." Bellatrix giggled at his cool reply.
"You were right! He's adorable!" Lucius rolled his eyes.
"Stop pestering him, the eggs are hatching soon." The female Black, sighed and moves away from the eggs. Harry gave Lucius a grateful look and took his journal out.
---------------------------------------------
Severus watched Bianchi with a longing look in his eyes. This was developing in to a crush, not good. Harry jotted down notes in his little diary, his handwriting was neat and precise.
Regulus smirked at Snape and mouthed 'love' at him. Severus felt his cheeks redden, hoping that Harry wouldn't look at him.
---------------------------------------------
Harry smiled as the largest egg began to crack. The tiny crack grew and grew until it broke open, a little blue bird sat inside it. The bird moved around a bit, probably searching for its mother. Bellatrix cooed.
"It's so small!" The second cracked, another tiny chick appeared. Harry waited for the third, but nothing happened. He wrote a few sentences down.
"Maybe it's a dud." Lucius suggested, shrugging.
"It's not. I've been casting spells and recording their progress, that one has been growing normally. It's just a bit slow." He replied, suddenly feeling defensive over the creatures.
"Aw, little Bianchi is turning into a mother! The maternal instincts are kicking in!" Harry scowled.
---------------------------------------------
They had been there for three hours.
"We should probably go, it's getting late." Regulus said, glancing up at the darkening sky.
"You can go." Harry said, not wanting to leave his place. Bellatrix, Lucius, and Regulus stood. Bellatrix ruffled Bianchi's hair playfully.
"Good luck, I hope that this one lives. I respect your choice to become a mother." The emerald eyed student allowed this, not caring much any more. He watched as Snape moved closer.
"Do you think it will hatch?" The Slytherin inquired.
"Yes, this one is just slow. I believe in it."
"You really are talking like a mother."
"Well I am a mother now. These are my children and I shall raise them until they are old enough to leave the nest. I will also document their growth, I might even publish my notes."
"Then where's the father? I mean someone has to hunt for you." Bianchi shrugged.
"I'll find one soon enough." Severus hummed.
"I could be the father. You just take care of them in your dorm and I'll bring insects and whatever they need." Harry laughed. It was a very pleasant laugh. The laugh made Severus grin like a fool.
"I guess that could work. Let's shake on it." Harry held out his hand with a kind smile. Severus accepted it and they shook, now both were grinning.
"It's moving!" Severus said in excitement, pointing to the last egg. Harry wrote at a furious pace and made a sketch of them.
"They're all alive! Our children!" Harry's face was that of a man who was just told that he'd won the lottery.
---------------------------------------------
Two weeks later
Harry sat on his bed, a birdcage next to him. All threw of them sat there, perched on a bar. They had already been fed, Severus stayed true to his promise and brought them insects. It was probably only another week until they could leave, Harry would miss them.
His dorm mates were used to the birds now, the headmaster still hasn't been informed of the creatures in his castle.
"Bianchi, Dumbledore wants to see you. He wants you to bring your pets too." One of the Ravenclaws said, Harry cursed. Someone had ratted him out.
Someone was going to pay.
---------------------------------------------
Two of the birds sat on his shoulders, one was nestled in his hair. Dumbledore seemed surprised.
"So, who are these little birdies?" Harry sighed and crossed his arms.
"I haven't found names yet. I've decided to not name them because I fear I will get attached if I do."
"Why wouldn't you want to get attached? You can't just get rid of them." Harry's mouth opened and closed, he said nothing. He was confused now. "What you did was honorable and they all seem to like you. You may keep them as your familiars."
"Do you want something?" Harry questioned, still suspicious. Dumbledore chuckled.
"No my boy, of course not!"
"Who told?"
"No one. I was suspicious of the notes and decided to watch you, just in case the Slytherins wished harm upon you. You may leave now." Harry stood, pausing by the door.
"Not all Slytherins wish harm upon others. I find myself growing fond of a few."
"Really? Who?" Dumbledore seemed genuinely surprised again.
"Lucius Malfoy, Regulus Black, Bellatrix Black, and Severus Snape. Snape has been helping me find insects for them." Dumbledore laughed cheerfully.
"You are a parent now, child!" Harry rolled his eyes and walked out. Stupid headmaster with his goddamn twinkling eyes and happy demeanor.
---------------------------------------------
Harry was pulled into a corridor on his way back to the Ravenclaw common rooms. He pointed his wand at whoever it was, a hex on the tip of his tongue.
"Calm down, it's just me!" Severus whisper-shouted.
"What the hell are you doing?" Harry hissed, heart still racing.
"I heard that Dumbledore wanted you. Is everything alright?" Harry finally lowered his wand.
"Yes. He said I could keep them as my familiars." He could see Severus smile in the dim light.
"That's wonderful, we'd both miss our children." Harry smiled.
"I am starting to like them." Both of them leaned against a wall, Bianchi felt all three of them nestle into his messy hair.
"Your hair is literally a bird's nest." Harry giggled and nodded. A powerful feeling of joy washed over him, it was a wonderful feeling.
"Guess what, Severus?"
"What?" Harry closed his eyes.
"I'm glad that you're the father." It took a few seconds for both of them to process the sentence. The wizards started giggling and laughing madly, clutching at their stomachs.
They both ended up on the floor, gasping and wheezing for breath, their cheeks flushed.
"Well Harry, I'm glad that you're the mother." They both had another laughing fit, but calmed down quickly. Harry placed his hand on Severus's and laces their fingers together. The Slytherin's eyes widened.
He was holding Harry's hand.
Willingly.
At that moment, he decided to make a move. A big move.
Severus lent forward and pressed their lips together.
Harry's lips were soft and plump. Severus's weren't as soft or plump, but it was still a great kiss.
Harry pulled away, cheeks colored dark red.
"O-oh." He whispered softly. Snape seemed as shocked as Harry.
"I'm so sorry, I shouldn't have don-" Harry cut him off by covering his mouth with his hand.
"No, stop apologizing." He replied, a smile creeping onto his face.
"What am I supposed to do?" His voice was muffled from Harry's hand, but still able to comprehend.
"I don't know, I've never done this before." He removed his hand, they just stared at each other awkwardly.
"We should probably get back to our dorm rooms."
"Ok." Severus stood and helped Harry up. They brushed the dust off from their clothes.
Snape turned to leave, Harry pecked him on the cheek and ran off. He put a hand on his cheek and smiled goofily.
---------------------------------------------
Harry plopped down on his bed, his birds on his nose and forehead. Anthony Goldstein looked at him curiously.
"Why are you so happy? Did you just finish plotting someone's death?"
"No, Dumbledore is letting me keep them."
"Who?"
"The birds!"
"Oh, have any names?" Harry shook his head 'no'.
"Not yet. I'll name them soon. Goodnight."
"Bianchi, I've been in a dorm with you for six years and you've never said 'goodnight' to me before." Harry just smiled.
---------------------------------------------
Severus woke up early and tried to make his hair presentable for once. He was failing. It still looked greasy and had no volume. He creeped over to Lucius's bed and shook him awake.
"Lucius, I need help." He whispered, the blond's eyes opened.
"With what?"
"My hair, it never looks good." Lucius smiled and rolled out of bed.
"I've been waiting six years for you to ask."
They went on the bathroom, Lucius worked his literal magic.
In the end, Severus's hair didn't look greasy and had a bit more volume.
---------------------------------------------
Harry smiled as he ate, ignoring the looks he got from having three birds in his hair.
"Harry, you're creeping everyone out. Why are you smiling?" A random Ravenclaw asked.
"None of your goddamn business." He replied, keeping a happy voice.
---------------------------------------------
That afternoon
Harry laid in the grass, the sun making him feel warm and tingly.
Everything was fine. For a few minutes.
He sat up at the sound of shouting, seeing Severus, James Potter, Remus Lupin, Peter Pettergriew, and Sirius Black about 200 yards away. This was probably not good.
He stood and quickly walked over to them, noticing that wands were drawn.
"Potter, what the hell are you doing?" This drew everyone's attention.
"Nothing that concerns you, Bianchi!" He shouted back, Harry frowned. He walked over to where Severus stood.
"Severus, are you ok?" He asked quietly.
"Yeah, you should just go. I can handle them." Harry rolled his eyes.
"Like I'm going to leave you here to fight alone." Harry turned to face the group again. "Carry on, I shall fight with Severus. Four on one just doesn't seem fair to me." James grinned wolfishly.
"I see that you've got yourself a little boyfriend, hmm? Tell me, how is he in bed? I'm not totally against other men, especially if they're as pretty as Bianchi." Harry tensed.
"It'd be best if you just were quiet Potter. I'd hate having to send a damaged child back to Mummy and Daddy." He hissed, Black and Potter just laughed.
"Oh look, Snape's little slut is getting all angry! Come here and we'll kiss it better." Black said mockingly, Harry put his wand away and walked to Black before Snape could stop him. Black laughed. "Merlin, he actually wants me to kiss it better! He really is a little slut!"
"I suppose I am." Harry replied, smirking. Black grinned and looped an arm around his waist, pulling Harry closer. Harry did his best not to flinch as their lips touched. It was nothing like Severus. Before Black could pull away, Harry clamped down on his bottom lip with his teeth and bit until he could taste blood.
Black howled in pain, but it wasn't over yet. Harry hit the wizard's ear as hard as he could with his fist, Sirius stumbled. Harry then kicked him in the gut, making Black fall onto his back.
Harry looked at the other three, who were in shock.
"Does anyone else want a kiss?" He growled. Silence, "Good." He walked away, eyes still blazing in anger.
---------------------------------------------
Harry was in an empty classroom, firing the strongest spells he knew at dummies.
"Bianchi? What are you doing?" Malfoy.
"Taking my anger out on something other than Sirius Black." Lucius carefully took his wand away.
"News spreads quickly." He said quietly, Harry smirked.
"So it does. How is Black doing?"
"He's in the hospital wing, your bite will leave a scar."
"Bastard deserves it." Harry sat next to the blond.
"So what happened? I've heard several stories."
"I saw that Severus was getting cornered by Potter and his friends, so I naturally stepped in. Potter thought that Severus and I were together, he asked how I was in bed. I threatened him, Black said that 'Snape's little slut' was getting angry and that he could kiss it better. I, already having a plan, put my wand away and kissed him. It was horrible. I bit his lip kinda hard, hit his ear, and kicked his stomach. He fell and I asked if anyone else wanted a kiss. Now I'm here." One of the birds landed on the blond's head.
"Let's just hope that you aren't expelled."
"I won't be, Dumbledore wouldn't dare. I have connections to the press, I can ruin Dumbledore if he steps out of line and he knows that."
"Harry, you're insane." Severus said, walking into the room.
"Correction: I'm slightly mad." Lucius snorted and gave Harry his wand back.
"I've got to go do my homework. Have fun with Dumbledore." Snape sat down next to him.
"You kissed Sirius Black." He said, scowling.
"Yes, but I also bit him and scared the shit out of everyone. Besides, your kisses are much better. Severus smiled.
"Prove it." Bianchi used his wand to close and lock the classroom door, finding a spot on the Slytherin's lap.
"How shall I do that?" Severus grinned.
"Just kiss me, but no biting." Harry chuckled.
----------------------------------------------
Harry laid on the floor next to Severus.
"Sev, what are we?"
"Wizards." Harry sighed.
"No, no. I mean our relationship. Are we just friends that kiss, are we friends with benefits, are we-"
"We're boyfriends, and we should be in our dorms." Bianchi and Snape got up.
"Bye, see you tomorrow." Harry kissed him once more and ran off. Severus felt a strange sense of deja vu.
---------------------------------------------
The next morning
Harry was led to the Slytherin's table by Severus. No one would bother him here, no one really wanted to bother him anyway.
All of the Slytherins were staring, some asked questions. Harry answered honestly, why lie now? He was called to Dumbledore's office after breakfast. Dumbledore would scold him, maybe take some points away, and let him leave.
----------------------------------------------
Harry entered the office, Potter, Black, Lupin, and Pettergriew sat there. He sat on the chair closest to the exit, just in case. Dumbledore stared at them all.
"I am mortified and disappointed in all of you." Harry scoffed quietly. "I would like Mr. Black, Mr. Potter, and Mr. Bianchi to tell your sides of the story. Mr. Black, you're first."
"My friends and me were just messing around with Snape. All we did was shout and throw a few hexes, nothing actually harmful. Then that crazy guy came up to us and started threatening us. I, of course, defended us. He just walked to me, kissed me, and you know the rest. He's insane and gay, expel him!" Harry rolled his eyes.
"Mr. Potter, your turn."
"I saw all that Sirius did, Bianchi is batty!" Harry took out his wand, everyone pointed theirs at him.
"So tense, I must ask all of you to calm down. I just wanted to show the Headmaster my memory. You have a pensive, correct?" Dumbledore nodded and pointed to it. Harry smiled and put the memory in the pensive. "Be my guest. You will notice that their stories are false." Dumbledore dipped his face in the pensive.
A/N: We all know what happened, so I'm skipping the memory.
Dumbledore emerged from the memory, eyes comically wide.
"I believe that both parties are at fault here. Mr. Black and Mr. James used such fowl language and Mr. Bianchi well... your defense was a bit extreme. Fifty points from each house. You may go back to class now." Harry smirked and left quickly.
---------------------------------------------
Lucius ran to the library table and sat down.
"What did Dumbledore want? Did he expel you?" Harry rolled his eyes.
"I wouldn't be here if he expelled me." Malfoy smirked.
"Well that's good. Severus would be horribly depressed if you left."
"Why?"
"Severus... likes you, you're more than a friend to him." Bianchi snorted.
"I sure hope that we're more than friends, we've been together for a few weeks now."
"And you didn't tell me?" He cried, Harry sighed.
"It didn't seem necessary and I didn't know if I could trust you yet." He watched as two of the birds flew around the library. Those two were named Luna and Oliver. The one that usually was nestled on Bianchi's hair was named Ernest.
"That was only a few weeks ago! I thought we were close friends way before that!"
"Well it takes me a while to fully trust someone. We're friends now, right?" Lucius smiled.
"Yes, of course we're friends!" Harry chuckled.
---------------------------------------------
"Bianchi? Are you here?" Remus whispered, looking around the forest.
"Yes, why?" Lupin jumped, the Ravenclaw had snuck up behind him.
"Merlin, you scared me. I wanted to apologize... for everything. I've told James and Sirius to stop bugging Snape, but they won't. I'm sorry for the rude things they said and I'm sorry that we dragged you into this." Bianchi let out a long sigh.
"I shan't blame you for you friends' actions, Lupin. Besides, I'm quite sure that Potter and Black won't bother Severus again."
"But the name calling, that was horrible! I don't know why I didn't stop them." Harry rolled his eyes.
"None of this is your fault, stop acting like it is." The Gryffindor looked up at the sky, trying to figure out who Bianchi really was.
"You confuse me." He said softly, Harry watched his familiars flutter around in the air.
"It's best that way, Lupin." Remus turned to look at the Ravenclaw, but he had disappeared.
---------------------------------------------
Harry transfigured a piece of cloth into a blanket and sat down. He was currently on the astronomy tower. The stars were beautiful, the sky clear.
"Not planning on jumping, right?" Harry rolled his eyes and patted the spot next to him.
"Why would I do that? I think that my life is alright at the moment. I have you, a few friends, a warm bed, what else could I possibly want?" Severus smiled and sat down.
"I don't know, a more attractive boyfriend?" Harry scowled.
"Sev, you are the most attractive person I know. You are beautiful and I wouldn't change a single thing about you." Snape picked up Harry's hand and kissed it.
"We don't know much about each other. I don't even know when your birthday is."
"July 31st. When is yours?"
"January 9th. Ask me a question now."
"What was your childhood like?"
"Not great. My mother died giving birth and I was left with my father."
"My grandmother raised me in Italy, my parents were both killed."
"Do you still live in Italy?" Harry nodded happily.
"Yes, I'm going to visit my grandmother soon. I haven't seen her in months." Severus smiled, the way Harry's eyes lit up when he talked about something he liked was beautiful.
"What's your biggest fear?" Severus was silent for a moment as he thought.
"Losing everyone that I love." Oh... Harry thought he was going to say something like spiders.
"I fear that no one will ever love me, I'll just die alone, filled with regret." Severus frowned.
"Well that is impossible, I already love you." Harry felt his eyes widen and cheeks flush.
"W-what?"
"I love you, so you can't die without feeling loved. Yes, I know that we haven't been together long. I just feel so happy when around you, you are the person that makes me fear losing my loved ones."
"Really? You actually love me?"
"Yes." Severus replied without hesitation. Harry grinned and pulled the Slytherin into a vice-like embrace.
"I love you too." He mumbled, still not letting go. Severus eventually pried him off with a smile.
"I think we should show our love to each other." He held Harry's chin, bringing him closer and closer until they were kissing.
"Great idea." Harry managed to get out. He pushed Severus on to his back, now straddling his waist.
A/N: And that, kids, was how Severus and Harry lost their virginity on the astronomy tower.
------------------End----------------------
A/N: hey, friends. Did you like it? I feel that it sounds unfinished, do you get that vibe too? I just don't know what else to add, sorry. It was around 4K words, so I guess that's cool. Give me your feedback and vote if you think it was alright.
