Camping
"Hello, you have reached Hermione Weasley's voice mail. Unfortunately, I am unable to come to the phone now. Please leave a message after the beep." Harry sighed and put down the phone. He was worried. It was the third day in a row that Hermione hadn't answered the phone, and it was the same case with Ron, too. Everyone was getting nervous, especially Molly, who had called Ron at least ten times an hour for the last day. She must have sent five owls for each telephone call, too, and none have returned. The whole Weasley family was getting nervous.
"No luck?" Ginny asked him, looking up from the Quidditch magazine she was reading. Harry shook his head and sighed.
"I'm really worried. Not only about Hermione and Ron, but about little Rose and Hugo," Harry sighed for a third time and ran his hand through his untidy hair. "Do you think we should go to their house and see what's up? I mean, it's not like them to not answer the phone. Are they even home?"
Ginny hesitated. "I'd say you're being too much like Mum and worrying for not reason, but I have to say you're right." She also sighed. "I'm also nervous. You don't think it has anything to do with-" she hesitated again, her eyes darting to look at Harry's forehead.
Harry felt his scar and shook his head. "It hasn't prickled in ages. Voldemort can't be back. He's dead, I know."
Ginny rolled her eyes. "That's not what I meant, Harry. I meant maybe it has something to do with Doctor Mire."
Harry looked at Ginny with bewilderment. "Doctor-who?"
"Doctor Mire," Ginny repeated, and looked absolutely surprised that Harry didn't know who that was. "Do you never read the Daily Prophet? There is a dark wizard rising in France. Calls himself Doctor Mire. He's about our age- went to Beauxbatons, though. He's causing all sort of trouble in Paris these days." She frowned. "I thought you'd know about this, being an Auror."
"If you haven't noticed, I've been on vacation. Plus, I've been a bit busy. Anyway," Harry answered thoughtfully. "I don't think that's it. I'm going over to Ron's house, ok? I'll check it out."
"Careful, Harry," Ginny smiled a bit sadly and kissed him on the cheek. "In case it does."
"You are the one starting to sound like your mum," Harry grinned and kissed Ginny back. "Don't let the kids get worried."
Harry closed his eyes and thought hard about the house and Disapparated.
He Apparated right next to their house.
His heart sank looking at it. There were absolutely no lights on, and it looked deserted from the outside. Still, he took out a pair of keys and opened the front door.
It was all very tidy and clean, and not how a house would look after being attacked by Dark wizards. Still, Harry treaded carefully.
On the kitchen counter was a piece of paper. "Lumos," Harry mumbled, unwilling to turn on the lights. To his surprise, it was a note written in Hermione's careful handwriting.
To-Do
Finish packing for the camping trip. {x}
Don't let Ron forget to charge the phones.
Tell the Weasleys and Harry where we're going.
It was at that moment when the door flew open.
"Honestly, Ron!" Hermione's shrill voice hit Harry's ear and he grinned. "How stupid could you be! Forgetting to charge the phones, and then getting us hopelessly lost in those woods. We've been gone for three days, and we couldn't even Apparate with the little ones. And of course, you also had the brilliant idea to leave the wands in the car-"
"Gosh, Hermione," Ron mumbled as he climbed down the stairs. "You're sounding like Mum."
Harry smiled and came out from the kitchen. "So that's where you've been," he smirked.
Ron halted in his tracks and Hermione appeared behind him. "Harry?" she asked, confused. "What are you doing here? Not that we don't want you," she added hastily.
Harry kept smiling despite himself. He was so relieved that they were ok. He gestured towards their uncharged phones and the owls waiting at the windows with the letters. "Let's just say we've all been a little nervous. Especially Mrs. Weasley."
Ron and Hermione looked out to the window wide-eyed, and it took them a while to drink in the sight of seeing all those owls with letters and their children running after the owls.
"Oh, no." Ron groaned. "Mum is going to kill me."
Hermione looked at Ron with a strange expression on her face. "After me," she finally said, and firmly kissed Ron.
Harry went back home with the good news.
*cries.*
Please don't read this. It's awful! Hermione_Weasley_
