Jessica's POV

I walked down the corridor with my best friend Katie Bell, we where talking about who we wanted to go to the ball with, "So Jessica, I know who you want to go to the ball with," Katie said, winking ant me. I blushed, "Well he will never ask me and besides were friends, thats all we will ever be." I sighed, as we continued to walk down the corridor.

At that moment Cedric walked up to us, "Hey Jessica mind if I have a quick word?" He asked, looking over at Katie who was blushing madly, I laughed.

"Sure, I'll be back in a sec Katie." I said, walking a little way down the corridor with him.

"Jess I just wanted to ask if-"

George's POV

I was walking to herbology class when I saw Jessica and Katie talking quickly and looking very excited. I walked over to them to see what was so exciting.

"Hey guy what are you looking so excited about?" I asked, raising an eyebrow, Katie giggled wile Jessica laughed. Her laugh was the best thing to hear, it could always cheer me up when I'm sad.

"Cedric asked Jessica to the yule ball! And she said yes!" Katie exclaimed, Jessica laughed nervously and scratched her upper right arm.

"Oh thats, that's umm great." I said, of course I did't really mean it but I wanted it to seem like I was happy for Jessica but secretly I wanted to rip Cedric's pretty little head off.

"Yea well bye guys I got to go to class, see ya later." I said, and hurried off to class without a response.

Jessica's POV

It was about two hours before the ball, Katie hasn't told me who she was going with and I hadn't spoken to George since I told him I was going with Cedric. Katie walked into the Gryffindor common room with a huge smile on her face.

"What's the smile for?" I asked, she stood in font of me with her hands on her hips. 

"I would expect you to be getting ready!" She exclaimed, making wild hand gestures as she spoke, "Your going with possibly the best looking boy in the school and your just sat here like a potato!" By this point she was almost yelling.

"Well he's not as good looking as George." I muttered, Katie raised her eyebrow at me.

"What was that?" She asked, smirking widely. I coughed, "Nothing." I replied trying to hid my blush. 

"Right well lets get ready." She said, but before I could protest she had already pulled me off the sofa and up to our dormitory.

Katie and I walked out of the Gryffindor common room two hours later.  I was wearing a short red dress with black heels so that it made me taller. My dirty blonde hair was curled slightly and my makeup made my blue eyes stand out more than they already did. 

As we entered the great hall I spotted Fred and George. Fred look like he was comforting George. Both of the twins looked up as we entered Fred waved to me, seeing as the twins and I are really good friends, I waved back smiling. George and I made eye contacted, his mouth was slightly open as he stared at us. 

Cedric walked over, "Hey Jessica, do you wanner dance?" He asked, offering me his hand. I nodded, smiling, "I would be honoured." I laughed at how formal he was being. We walked onto the dance floor. I felt a pair of eyes on me, I turned to see George staring at me.

As Cedric and I danced I glanced over at George. He was dancing with Katie. So thats who she was going with. She knows that I like George! Why would she do this? I thought to myself. 

For the rest of the evening I tried to put George and Katie out of my mind. I had a great time with Cedric. We danced and joked around. 

"Thanks for agreeing with me to go to the ball, Jessica." He said, I laughed, "Thats alright, what are friends for? Anyway I know who you really want to go with." I said, smirking as he blushed.

"Yea, Cho." He replied, I gave him a slight push towards where she was standing. "Go get her, tiger." I said, he chuckled. 

"Thanks, your my best friend, you know that right." He said, hugging me before walking off. 

As I turned around to talk to my other friends, I saw Katie kiss George. Like no a small peck on the cheek. A proper kiss on the lips! I wanted to go over there and say something but thought better of it, so instead I walked out of the great hall and sat on the big marble stair case.

As I left I saw George glance at me but I ignored it. I sat on the stairs a few tears trickling down my face, someone put an arm around me.

"Hey, are you alright?" The person asked. I knew it was George, I shrugged off his arm from my shoulders. "Why do you care? Just go back to snogging Katie." I snapped, not looking up at him. 

"Of course I care! Why wouldn't I? I have been in love with you for a year!" He exclaimed, I sat there shocked. 

"Y-you love m-me?" I stuttered, finely looking up at him. He nodded, "Then why did you kiss Katie?" I asked, he sighed.

"Once she told me that Cedric asked you to the ball I was really upset. Katie said that we could try and make you jealous, it was all her her idea." He replied, he took a deep breath and I could see tears slowly falling down his face.

"But you like Cedric." He said quietly. I stared at him, then I burst out into laughter. George looked at me in confusion, "Whats so funny?" He asked.

"George, I don't like Cedric and Cedric doesn't like me!" I spluttered through laughter. He looked stunned, "But he asked you to the ball." He said, I laughed again. "Yea, he asked me as a friend!"  I replied, still laughing.

His face split into a wide grin, then he lent forward and kissed me. Pressing his soft warm lips into mine. Our lips moved in synchronisation as my hands found their way to his neck and his to my waist. After a couple of minutes I pulled away.

"I have wanted to do that for ages." He grinned down at me, I smiled, "Me too." I replied, leaning in for another kiss.

 That was my friend, I was weighting it and she published it to annoy me. Again I am sorry for her behaviour! 😡
