(y/h)= your house

You walked down the dark grounds of Hogwarts towards the forbidden forest. Everyone says that its got loads of "scary" beast in there but your go inside the forest most nights, the "scariest" beast in there are the giant spiders but you have learned to make friends with them. You marched into the forest, you had your backpack on and it was full of different foods for the beast.

As you approached a near by  tree, you rummaged in my bag until you had a box filled with wood lice, grabbing a handful you walked slowly over to the tree. You outstretched your hand to reveal the wood lice, a few Bowtruckles emerged and took the wood lice away to eat. One of the smaller Bowtruckles crawled up your arm and sat on your shoulder.

"You alright, Jubbly?" You asked, the stickman. He nodded and continued to eat a wood louse. You don't really have many friends, you're different from the other people in (y/h). You prefer the company of beast's. 

You continued on my way farther into the forrest. As you walked you passed more creatures, stopping to feed them and talk to the ones who could. 

About five minutes later you walked into the middle of the forest, you heard rustling up ahead, Jubbly made a squeak and hid in the collar of your shirt. You chuckled and looked up to be met with a pair of black majestic eyes. You slowly took of your backpack and opened it to take out some meet. 

Slowly, very slowly the beast came out of the shadows and into the moon light to be revealed as a Thestral. You felt Jubbly shacking next to your neck. 

"Its okay Jubbly, its just a Thestral, she won't hurt us." You whispered to Jubbly. You turned to the Thestral, "Hey, hey its okay, we won't hurt you, I won't let anyone hurt you, okay?" You said, in a soft voice to try and comfort the amazing creature. You throw the pice of meat, the Thestral caught it in her mouth and walked slowly towards you.

Newts POV

The grounds were dark, stars twinkled up above me as I strode towards the forbidden forest. Note book in hand I am determined to see something new, maybe a giant spider or hippogriff, though I doubt there will be any in the forest. But despite my doubts I walked towards the forest and away from the castle.

As I walked farther into the forest I heard hoofs on the ground and I spun round to find Aris, a centaur of who I had befriended. 

"Oh hello Aris, how are you?" I asked, craning my neck slightly so I could looking Aris's face. He had long, mattered hair which was the colour black, his eyes where a brilliant purple. 

"Hello Mr. Scamander, I am well, have you seen the stars tonight?" He replied, his voice was low but also soft. 

"I am glad to hear, yes the stars are very nice tonight." I said, looking up ant the stary night sky. "Have you seen any rare creatures around to night?" I asked, looking away from the sky.

"Well I have seen a group of- something comes this way" He answered, dreamily still staring at the sky. I sighed, centaur's can be so distracted.

"What were they?" I asked. 

Aris looked down at me and said ,in still a dreamy tone, "I don't recall." I sighed and ran a hand through my hair.

"Can you at least tell me where they went?" I asked, slightly irritated, "I can." Aris answered, staring at me. I huffed in annoyance. 

"Well...Are you going to tell me?" I said, trying not to shout at the centaur. Aris looked at me, "Yes I might as well." He paused, and then said quite plainly, "They went that way." He finished pointing to his left.

"Right, thank you Aris, I'll see you around." I replied, walking quickly towards where Aris had pointed. 

As I left I felt Aris's eyes on me, "Good bye, Mr. Scamander." He said, in his dreamy voice and with that I heard him gallop away through the forest.

I walked for what seemed like ten minutes when I spotted a small clearing up ahead. As I drew closer I was met with a very odd scene. A girl with (y/h/c) hair, beautiful (y/e/c) eyes and wearing robes from (y/h). She was gently stroking and feeding something. And on her shoulder sat a small Bowtruckle.

"What are you doing?" 

(y/n)s POV

You fed the Thestral's, there were quite a lot of them now, all milling the edges of the clearing in which you stood. Jubbly liked the Thestral's, he could see them like you can. 

A rustling startled the Thestral you were feeding. 

"Shh, its okay, nothing will hurt you." You whispered to the Thestral. Then you heard someone speck. 

"What are you doing?" The voice asked, you could tell it wasn't a teacher but a student. You turned to face a boy with messy brown hair, Bright blue eyes and lots of freckles wearing Hufflepuff robs. You were slightly shocked seeing someone else in the forest at this time of night. 

"Why are you stroking air?" He asked, his voice was calm and soft but with a hint of curiosity. "Can you not see them?" You asked, turning back to the Thestral.

"No. See what?" He asked, I looked over at him, "The Thestral's." You replied. The boy looked suddenly alert. 

"No, no don't worry." You said quickly, trying to make sure he doesn't kick up a fuss, "They won't hurt you. Just stay quiet. They are standing all around us." You whispered, putting as much warmth and comfort into your voice as you could.

The boy relaxed at your words, then he spotted Jubbly, "Why do you have a Bowtruckle on your shoulder?" He asked, pointing at Jubbly who was still perched on top of your shoulder. 

"This is Jubbly, he is my friend." You replied, Jubbly walked from your left shoulder over onto your right. The boy walked forward, slowly. Jubbly bowed to the boy, he chuckled.

"He is a spectacular creature." The boy said, walking still closer. Once he was close enough Jubbly hopped onto the boy's shoulder and sat there looking quite contemned. 

"He seems to like you, he's a shy one, doesn't really like others." You said, watching the boy as he looked at Jubbly. 

"My name is Newt by the way." The boy said, sticking out his hand to shank yours, you took it, "I'm (y/n) Nice to meet you." You replied.

"Is what you were stroking really a Thestral?" Newt asked, looking at you strait in the eye. You nodded. "Yes, the are peaceful creature's. Possibly one of my favourite one's." You answered, Jubbly made a rude noise, "Except Jubbly of course." You continued. Jubbly had a satisfied grin in his little face.

"How can you see the Thestral's and I can't?" Newt asked, you sigh. You don't really like retelling this story.

"Well to see a Thestral you have to had seen death." You said, looking at the forest floor. Newt was silent for a moment, "Who did you see die? If you don't mind me asking." He asked, you shook your head. 

"No its fine, my Father died when I was young." You replied, looking up into Newt's brilliant blue eyes. 

"I'm sorry." He said, you smiled, "It's fine." You said, again Newt was silent until he asked, "What do the Thestral's look like?" You looked over and the nearest one who was slowly walking over. 

"Well, they are black, very skeletal like and look very fragile, they also have big wings that fold into their bodies. They give a lot of people the creeps because of the whole dead seeing thing." You answered, Newt looked in awe. You chuckled, "Its nice to finely meet someone with the same interest's as me." You said.

Newt looked around, "Here, give me your hand." You said, taking his hand you lead him towards a Thestral. At first the Thestral backed away, but you assured her that Newt wouldn't hurt her. You gently placed Newts hand onto the Thestral's head. 

"This is incredible." He whispered to you.

Once you had finished talking and looking at the Thestral's, well you looking at them and Newt trying to touch them, we headed back to the castle. 

You said goodbye to Jubbly who went back to his tree, and you headed back towards the castle. 

"Do you go to the forest often?" Newt asked, looking over at you as we walked back up the steep slopes of the grounds. 

"Yes, but not every night, most nights though. What about you?" You asked, looking over at Newt. 

"Not all the time but a lot when I want to study the creature's in the forest." He replied, as you entered the entrance hall. We both stopped at the marble stair case. 

"Well I had a great time tonight, thank you for showing me the Thestral's." Newt said, grinning widely. "The pleasure is mine. I had a lovely time with you too." You replied. 

"I would like to do this again." He stated, you laughed, "I would like that too, very much." You answered. Newt lent down and kissed your cheek. 

"See you tomorrow, (y/n)." He said, his grin getting wider. "Yea see you tomorrow, Newt." You replied. 

You both walked away thinking of each other.
