Year 1 - The Philosopher's Stone (Hogwarts)
For two weeks, Harry read <History of Magic> and Hestia studied with her nose buried in the potion book. She made notes and jotted down questions on a spare piece of parchment to ask Snape when the school started.
At September 1st, they went to the King's Cross Station.
"Platform 9 and 3/4... Have any ideas how to get there?"
"No."
As they rolled their trolley to platform 9, they saw a big family with a owl cage.
"Let's ask them."
Rolling their trolley closer to them, Harry asked the lady how to get on to the platform.
"You two must be first years. It's our Ron's first year as well. You just need to go through the pillars between platform 9 and 10. Best to break into a run if you get scared."
Harry breathed in deeply, and gave Hestia a nod. They ran toward the wall, and there stood a red steam engine with the words, 'Hogwarts Express' on it.
20 minutes later, the train started with a loud, shrill whistle.
Hestia and Harry were sitting together when a red haired boy opened the door of the compartment. She recognized him as the boy they met on the platform.
"Do you mind? Everywhere else is full."
"Not at all."
The boy sat down in front of Harry.
"I'm Ron Weasley by the way."
"Hestia and Harry Potter."
Ron's eyes became large.
"Woah! Do you really have the scar? Does it hurt?"
Harry showed him his scar and told him that it didn't hurt. Hestia unconciously put her hand to the back of her neck where her own scar was.
After a while the door opened again and three boys came in.
"So it's true what they say on the train. The Potters came to Hogwarts."
"Hello, Draco"
Five boys looked at her, then the blonde spoke.
"I should have guessed that you were a Potter, Hestia."
"Do you know him?" Harry asked, surprised.
"I met him at Madam Malkin's Robes."
Draco introduced himself and the other two boys. Ron tried to hide his snicker into a cough after hearing Draco's name, but didn't quite manage it.
"Think my name's funny, do you? No need to ask who you are. Red hair, and a handed down robe. You must be a Weasley."
He then turned to Hestia and Harry.
"You should know that in the wizarding world, some families are better than others. You don't want to hang out with the wrong sorts. I can help you there."
Harry frowned and turned down his offer, but he was surprised when Hestia took Draco's hand. Draco offered to introduce her to others so Hestia stood up and beckoned. With a hissing sound, a huge snake slithered out and wrapped itself around her waist. Crabbe and Goyle slowly backed against a wall and Draco turned pale. And Ron... he was freaking out like mad.
"He doesn't bite... Unless I tell him to."
Draco pulled himself together and led her to another compartment where children from other pure-blood families were sitting together. He sat on a seat and made her sit beside him. A girl frowned and glared at Hestia.
"Who's that girl, Draco? Who is she sitting next to you?"
"She is Hestia Potter, and I'm the only one she knows, Pansy"
Pansy Parkinson pouted and continued to glare at her. Ignazio (the snake), which felt its mistress's tension, came out and hissed at Parkinson threateningly which made her turn her gaze at once. It looked at Hestia with twinkling eyes which was clearly saying,
'I did something good, right? Praise me!'
Hestia laughed softly and stroked its head.
[Well done, Ignazio. Thank you]
She hissed quietly in parseltongue so that only Ignazio could hear.
Soon, the train came to a stop and they all filed out. They crossed the lake and followed Professor McGonagall to the Great Hall. Then the Sorting began with,
"Abott, Hannah!"
-HUFFLEPUFF!!
The Sorting went on and on. After a while, Professor McGonagall called out,
"Potter, Harry!"
The hall buzzed with excitement as Harry put on the Hat.
Few moments later, the Sorting Hat put him in Gryffindor.
"Potter, Hestia!"
Hestia closed her eyes as the Hat was put on her head. A husky voice gave a small gasp.
-You've got a gift that is both a blessing and a curse. The ability to remember everything you saw or heard... I can see that you've been through much harder time than your brother. Definately not Hufflepuff, since you planned the revenge thoroughly. Hmm... I know, SLYTHERIN!
Applause came fro the Slytherin table but everyone else gasped. Harry looked at her in disbelief, but she just gave him a smile, and went to her table.
The Sorting ended after a while and Dumbledore stood up.
"I'd like to say a few words before we begin. Nitwit, blubber, oddment, tweak. Thank you!"
With that, the feast began.
