Year 1 : Philosopher's Stone - School Days

Hestia woke up at 5 o'clock the next day. She took a shower, brushed her teeth and washed her face. An hour passed when she came out with her hair perfectly dried with the magic hair dryer which was in the bathroom. Hestia pulled on a white shirt, a black skirt, black long socks which came up to her knees, and tried to put on her ties. She fiddled with it for a long time but it just refused to come out right. Sighing, she wore the vest without the tie and put on her robe. Tying the top half or her hair neatly with the ribbon Draco gave her, she got her wand.
A knock sounded, and when she opended the door, Draco came in.

"Let's go to breakfast together. By the way, where is your tie?"
"Here. I can't tie it straight."

He took the tie from her and tied it on around her neck neatly.

"There you go."
"Thanks."

They went to the Hall together and got what they wanted. Hestia chose cheese omlete with sausage and Draco chose pancakes. Both poured themselves a glass of milk too. While they were half way through the meal, the prefects came and handed them their timetables.

"Look. 9:00 ~ 11:00, Transfiguration. 11:00 ~ 1:00, Flying. Not a bad start, is it?"
"It would be better if we didn't share classes with Gryffindor."

Hestia smiled at Draco's complain. She was actually relieved that she could have same classes with Harry.

"We'll have to hurry up a bit. Professor McGonagall's classroom is a bit far from our dormitory."

They arrived at the classroom half an hour before 9 o'clock.
The class itself was not easy. They had to write down everything which was written down on the blackboard. After that, everyone was glad to leave the classroom.

Gryffindor and Slytherin students filed out to the green field in front of the castle's main building.

"Welcome to your first flying lesson. Now step up to the left side of your broom, hold your right hand over it, and say 'up!'"
"""Up!!!"""

Hestia, Harry and Draco's brooms immediately flew up to their hands, but they were the only ones who succeeded. However, after a few mishaps, they all got their brooms and mounted it.
They weresupposed to kick off at Madam Hooch's whistle, but Neville Longbottom, a Gryffindor, was so nervous that he rocketed upwards before the whistle was blown. He then fell to the ground, and was taken to the hospital wing by Madam Hooch, who told them to stay firmly on the ground.

"Look! It's the remebral that Longbottom's grandmother sent!"
"Give it here, Malfoy"

It was Harry, who stepped up to Draco.

"No. I'll place it where Longbottom can find later. How about the roof top?"

Draco mounted the broom and flew upwardds.

"What are you doing down there, Potter> Scared of heights?"

Harry glared at Draco, then mounted his broom. A girl who was standing next to him tried to hold him back.

"No way, Harry. You heard what Madam Hooch said. Besides, you don't even know how to fly."
"Yes he can, and quite well, too."

Everyone looked at Hestia, who was smiling.

"Go on, Harry, You know what to do. Follow your instincts."

So he kicked off from the ground and faced Draco.

"I said, give it here."
"Have it your way then," Draco said casually, and threw it with all his strength. Harry whipped passed him and went in to a dive.

"Got it!"

He slowly floated down with the remembrall in his hand, when Professor McGonagall hurried towards them, calling his name.

"Never, in all my days at Hogwarts..."
"It wasn't his fault, Professor."
"Be quiet Mr. Weasley"
"But Professor,"
"That's enough, Miss Patil. Mr. Potter, follow me."

Harry reluctantly followed her and looked back over his shoulders at Hestia, disappointed at the fact that she didn't do anything when he was in trouble. He was both surprised and a little bit angry at the fact that she was actually smiling. Hestia took her wand and wrote something in the air.

'Don't  Worry'

He was confused, but decided to  believe her, since she sometimes knew what other people were thinking about.
Meanwhile, the Slytherins were laughing and making jokes about Harry.

"DId you see his face when McGonagall came?"
"He must be in big trouble."

Draco was laughing along at first, but his laughter slowly drifted away when he saw Hestia's face. She was smiling, but as soon as Harry disappeared into the castle, her face hardened immediately. He was surprised at the sudden change, then realized that Harry was the only one left in her family.

"What's wrong Draco?"

It was Pansy Parkinson, who pulled him slightly away from Hestia.
He shook his head, then joined the other Slytherins. Deciding that he should talk to her after lunch.
