September 1st

Danny woke up on September 1st snuggled up with Elsa in his arms. He looked to see her still deeply asleep and nuzzled her hair, her scent was something he had grown addicted to. He yawned, hugging her a bit tighter, making her groan softly and sleepily at the gesture. Though he wanted nothing more than to just lay there with his beloved wife tucked to him, his brain, so used to keeping schedules, reminded him of the date and what needed to be done.

Damn it.

So he decided to make Elsa as miserable as him by picking her up and taking her to shower...

"DANNY!!"

Half an hour later, after much teasing from him and friendly fire from Elsa, they were ready to deal with the day. He headed for Harry's room, finding the boy with only his legs on the bed, ass up in the air, and snoring away on his carpet. Danny shook his head, old memories of when he was a much more active sleeper coming to mind. He wondered if Lily was the same or if she took after Jazz more.

He grabbed his son, "Come on. We need to go to King Cross for the traditional trip!"

Harry moaned like a ghoul as Danny marched him to the bathroom. Just like with Elsa, the boy woke up sputtering with the rain shower drowning him. He screamed, "DAD!"

Danny left him in the bathroom, "Hurry up and get ready. Have you packed your bags?"

Harry glowered at him, "I did. Now please get out,"

Danny chuckled as he left. He then checked Harry's bag, making sure that his school robes were front and center for easy access for when he needed to change on the train. He also made sure that the leather shoulder harness that also served as his wand holster was placed on the bed. He had trained Harry how to easily access his wand while making it look like he wasn't carrying anything. The school robe's design have capes around the shoulders that would work at concealing his shoulder harness.

Harry's uniform wasn't a full length robe as it ended around his calves with slits up the sides for easier wider movement. Danny was immensely glad that Severus insisted on adding pants underneath the robes for boys. He didn't know why but the man was very passionate about that addition to the school robe. The inside lining have a one time magic on it, changing color once sorted into one of the four Houses of Hogwarts. The waist was cinched by the buttons on the back, giving the robe extra form instead of the older formless style. The sleeves were fitted to the wrists. The collar was high and closed, the color waiting to be decided.

Over that was the cape. The sleeves on the cape were the hanging sort, the deep hood attached to the collar of the cape. The cape did not close all the way on the front. The open front style was held in place by the sleeves. The folds fell all the way to the calves, joining the length of the inner robe. Like the robe, the inner lining of the cape will soon be colored upon sorting. The school's badge on the front over the left breast, right over the heart. On the back of the cape was where the House's badge would be added upon sorting, making it looked like they were wearing a banner of their House on their back.

Elsa had added some embroidery on his shoulders, adding structure to it. The beginning of the slits also have their respective embroideries, black and subtle so as not to distract from the school appointed robes. She had already read on the rule books and there was nothing against such subtle addition. It was also imbued with some fey protection spells, so that Harry can at least be kept safe even without them by his side.

Harry rushed to breakfast and Danny had to remind him that choking will not send him to the King Cross any faster. If anything, he will probably wake up in the graveyard and attend Hogwarts as a ghost. That served to slow the boy down some. Danny looked at Luna who kept a careful smile on her lips but her eyes were vacant and she was pushing her food around. Danny sighed. They have been preparing her for the day that Harry will have to go to Hogwarts, promising her that she will join him next year.

But understanding with the mind doesn't always translate to accepting with the heart.

He shared a look with Elsa and she nodded; they'll brace for when she finally cry.

Harry was buzzing by the time they were ready to go through the fireplace, "Come on! I'll miss the train!"

Danny rolled his eyes, "No you won't,"

He clawed the air, making sure that they were in a secluded place with no camera, before stepping through. Danny will never stop enjoying ripping space to get where he needed. If he ripped the space while in the Infinite Realm, he could easily rip through time as well. However, for time travelling, he would have to be careful to not change anything. But if things happened regardless of his effort, then it was meant to happen.

At least, that was what Clockwork said.

Danny had seen Gandalf's little Time Turner. He can feel barely a smidge of Clockwork's power on the thing. As powerful as it may be in the hand of humans, it was nothing compared to the endless void of power that Clockwork commanded. The invention was more like lip stain; there but not. Still, he had to give respect where respect was due. Whoever invented the Time Turner was either favored by Clockwork or it was Clockwork's own mischief. Yeah. Danny knew his mentor well. Clockwork might be all about preserving time but he was still a ghost. He have his moments of trouble making too.

They managed to flag down a taxi and made their way to King's Cross Station. Danny pulled out the train ticket; Hogwarts Express, Hogsmeade Station, Platform 9 ¾. Harry barely bat at eyelash at the name of the ticket. He had been through weird portals often enough to understand that nothing was as it seemed. Sometimes to advance, one must go backward.

As they headed for the pillar hiding the entrance to the platform, Luna pointed at the trio of family looking at a ticket, their bushy haired daughter staring at the pillar in confusion, a furious staff grumbling about the yearly prank passing them by, "I think they need our help. I remember the couple from Diagon Alley,"

Danny nodded at her before approaching the couple, "Excuse me!" Once he garnered their attention, he asked, "Need help to get to the 'special' platform?" He glanced meaningfully at the ticket in their daughter's hand.

The wife lets out a sigh of relief, "Oh, it's you! Yes! Yes, we could use a help. How do we even...?"

He smiled at the ticket before apologizing, "Unfortunately only your daughter can get through. Say you goodbye here," He nodded at the wide eyed girl staring at his son.

The husband sighed, "Figured. I mean, we are muggles..." He shared at sad look with his wife before calling on his witch daughter, "Hermione!"

Danny returned to his own family and sent them through before waiting for the other family to bid their goodbye. There were the expected tears and promises to write. Personally, Danny wanted the not so distant smartphones to keep he and his family connected. Truly, one do not know what they have until they lose it. He can create one that ran on ecto-particles but the problem was magic. Despite now being able to use it, thanks to Elsa and Harry, he still have problem mastering it.

The girl, whose name he learned to be Hermione Granger, returned to his side with red eyes. He smiled gently at them and nodded at the worried couple, "She'll be safe!"

Hopefully that she will stay safe with his son attending Hogwarts. He knew enough about Chosen Ones that life tended to kick them off the ledge and then jump onto their back as trampoline before kicking them once down. Upon passing through the barrier, he helped her with her things, receiving a shy "thank you" from her as she climbed into the train. He then turned to attend to his son who was helplessly consoling the now crying Luna.

On the other side, the famous steam engine train was magnificent to look at and from the lack of coal scenting the smoke, it was wholly run by magical fuel. Danny was tempted to look at the engine room but decided against it. He could buy the book at the small stall selling trivia items on the famed train to learn more instead. But he doubted that they would go in depth with the engine. After all, the Hogwarts Express was the first train that was built on a wholly magical railway that stretched all over Europe. The kind of manpower and paperwork that the people involved had to work with must be torture for the one that have to sign everything. Especially since everything had to be done under the strict order of hush-hush. Pain was everything.

Danny would know. Just thinking about it would lead to him shedding a single tear down his cheek.

Luna mournfully sighed as she joined his side, "He's going,"

Elsa patted her shoulder, "Yes. But you will join him next year,"

Luna nodded, "I guess...can I visit Ginny this year?"

Danny hummed, "You are welcomed to ask Molly or Arthur. As long as you don't stray far from them,"

They watched as their blond charge skipped towards the elder Weasley couple that was sending off their own brood, Ginny pouting as much as Luna, except her eyes were full of envy towards her older brothers. He overheard her asking Molly if she can't just attend Hogwarts early, only for the witch to gently disappoint her. But she was quickly distracted by Luna upon joining them.

Danny watched as Harry made his way to the window nearest to them and looked out. He grinned at them, his incisors sharper than his peers as Danny's blood in the magical adoption ritual affected his appearance and magic a little. The damned scar didn't look as angry as it once was but the cursed feel was subdued even further after their ritual. Harry's hair also took on a more deep ebony color in comparison to his deep brown-black shade of before. Danny was also relieved that unlike with James, Harry did not need glasses. Though his eyes adopted almost similar coloring to Danny's in his human form, except more green than blue. The blue flecks were luminous when in certain lighting. Added with his slightly pointed ears, a courtesy of Elsa, Harry have a very fey feel to his appearance.

Elsa stood by the window of his compartment, "Made sure you eat healthy. Just because I'm not there to remind you to eat your greens doesn't mean that I wouldn't know. It will show when you come home for the holidays. Also, remember to call Headmaster Dumbledore by his proper title and name. No Grandpa Gandalf there. The same with Prof. McGonagall. No Prof. Minnie for you,"

Harry whined, "I know~! You told me how many times now?"

Elsa sniffed, "You might forget and slip,"

Harry pouted, "I promise I won't!"

Danny chuckled, "Listen to your Mum, Harry,"

Harry gave him a betrayed look, "Not you too!"

He then added, "Make sure you keep the rules in your mind. Just because we Khaos have penchant of breaking it," Elsa gave him a look at that, "Doesn't exempt us from consequences. The least you should know is what rule you're breaking as you're breaking them. Got to cover all the grounds, you know?"

The Weasley Twins looked out their window, "Could have use that advice last year, Uncle Danny!"

"Hear, hear!"

Molly huffed at him, "Don't go giving them ideas!"

Danny looked at her, "They could just as well steal a toilet seat and mail it home, you know?"

One of the twins crowed, "Now that's a good idea!"

Molly glared at them like Satan, "No! You do that and I'll march myself to Hogwarts!"

Danny have no idea how the twins could still give her the run around with her temper like that. No wonder they were sorted into Gryffindor. He had half believed them to be Slytherin with all the sabotaging they have been doing on the rest of their family and whoever made the mistake of visiting them without prior notice of pranks and traps and bags of feathers. Between the two of them, they put the 'sly' in Slytherin.

But no. They trolled the rest of Hogwarts by falling in line with the rest of their Griffin loving family.

As more students arrived and filed in onto the train, Harry slipped back inside, ears steaming from Elsa's 'loving' lecture. Danny sighed, wrapping his arm around Elsa and placing one on Luna's head. She was much shorter than Harry, who's height seemingly racing to chase Danny's. But Danny doubted that the boy will be a tall as him. Even with all the milk he has been drinking and all the proper nutrients, he won't be taking over Danny's height any time soon.

Harry still have a lot of James Potter in him.

He grunted as they train started moving. Luna started sobbing quietly once more, though she waved at Harry as the train took the boy away. This will be the first time they will be separated after she started living with them. Elsa patted her shoulders, "You'll see him again,"

Luna sobbed, fresh tears falling from wide silvery eyes, "I know b-but..."

Danny patted her head, "Come on. The train's gone. We should head back,"

The trip back was with a more subdued mood. Danny sighed, wondering how the trip would be like for Harry. They were always together as a family, after all. The only place he ever went to without them was to the Weasley for play dates and socializing. This will be the first time that he will be anywhere unsupervised for full length of time...

Danny hummed, "Here's hoping he didn't turn anyone into toads,"

~

Harry didn't turn anyone into toads...fortunately. But he was wondering whose toad was it that was trying to climb up his pant leg. Ron was moaning about his corn beef sandwich, the ingredients that he disliked the most, and Harry was scribbling in his notebook. He had just returned from investigating the engine room, taking down notes of the things he saw there because Dad would be curios, when he found the toad.

He looked at Ron's sorry rat Scabber and knew that it wasn't his friend's. He then looked back down at the toad, "Who owns you?"

He grabbed the toad and balanced it on Scabber's back. The mangy rat was not appreciative of this but Harry was determined to have to toad ride the rat like a horse. He grinned, "I present to you Sir Croakington!"

Ron snorted at the sight and ripped off a bit of the paper wrapping on his sad sandwich, fashioning a hat for the toad to wear, "Now he's really a Sir!" He then frowned, "Where did he come from? Uh...it's a he, right?"

Harry looked at him, seriously answering, "Luna might know but she's not here," He then frowned, "How do we know the gender of a toad?"

Great. Now he's curious.

"Excuse me. Have anyone seen a toad?!"

The two looked up to see a short slightly chubby boy with dark blond hair peeking into their compartment. His soft brown eyes brightened at the sight of the 'knighted' toad, "Trevor!"

Harry hummed, "I think Sir Croakington is better,"

The newcomer blinked at him in confusion, "Sir...what?"

Ron huffed, "Just hand the poor bloke his toad, Harry!"

Harry pursed his lips and picked the toad that refused to get off of Scabber's back, regardless of the rat's squeaking of protest, only for the toad to hop and landed on Ron's sandwich. Ron pulled a face of utter disgust, "I know I said I hate corn. But that is still miles better than toad sandwich!" Once the third boy grabbed his toad and put it in his robe's pocket, he sighed, "Now I have nothing to eat," At Harry's look, he scrunched his nose, "No, Harry. I'm not eating toad flavored sandwich even for your 'science'!"

Harry huffed, mumbling darkly, "Drat. You knew me too well. I'll have to erase you one day,"

Ron rolled his eyes, "Like your Mum will let you,"

Harry shrugged, "I don't know, Ron. I could always ask Puck to help spirit you away into Tir Na Nog?"

"Uhm..."

Ron blinked, "Oh, you're still here?"

The poor boy's face crumpled before he shyly ask, "That is...I got kicked out by the upper years..."

Harry patted the empty space besides him, "Then sit here. Can't have you walk up and down the corridor all the way to Scotland. Name's Harry Khaos. This gingerbread man here is my friend Ron Weasley. You?"

The boy's eyes lit up at the friendly greeting, "Neville...Longbottom. Neville Longbottom. And..." He patted his pocket of toad, "This is Trevor,"

Harry asked, "Is it an African Bullfrog? I heard that frog eat anything. Like snakes, even!"

Ron sighed, "Harry. It's a toad! It's in the name! He called it a toad! How can it suddenly be that eating machine of a frog?!" He looked at Neville, "Sorry about Harry. He's kooky but he's a good bloke,"

Harry pouted, "Aw...I was hoping he misunderstood the species and it is actually that eating machine of a frog," He glared at the Ron's sleepy brown rat, "I was thinking if Scabber will survive against it..."

Ron put a hand on his family's pet rat, "Seriously, what is it with you and torturing Scabber? You're nicer to the garden gnomes than you are to Scabber!"

Harry squinted suspicious eyes at the trembling rat, "He hides whenever my parents are near. I don't trust anything that hide from either Mum or Dad,"

Ron slumped and looked at Neville, "You're my friend now, Neville. I am not suffering Harry in Hogwarts alone," He looked back at Harry, "And Harry? Scabber's just a normal garden rat. And your Dad is bloody creepy on a normal day and downright terrifying at night! I told you I have nightmares the first time I met him!"

Harry kept his eyes on the now hiding rat, "Then why is he hiding from Mum? She's not scary,"

Ron blushed, "She's scarily beautiful, you mean. Anyway, leave my rat alone!" He swatted at the hand creeping toward the rat, "You're not using him for those crazy scientist rat experiments! And no! You're not pairing Scabber with a lady rat either! Why do you think he always run from you? You tried feeding him suspicious potions the last time I left you alone with him!"

Neville watched their interaction as Ron continued to hide his rat from the suspicious Harry. He settled down with a smile, seemingly content to be added to the duo's crazy routine. In the end, Ron hid Scabber in his bag and guarded it. Harry pulled out a chessboard but instead of the chess pieces, he pulled out red checkers. Neville perked up, "Oh, I know those!"

Harry smiled at him, "Wanna play?"

Ron warned Neville, "Harry cheats,"

Harry scrunched his nose, "No I don't! You're just bad at checkers!"

Ron smirked, "I still beat you in chess, though!"

Harry rolled his eyes, sniffing, "And you still won't play Khaos style chess,"

Ron grimaced, "Harry, just because they are ghosts playing as chess pieces, doesn't mean I enjoy watching the ones playing 'pawn' having their limbs cut off or beheaded...again!"

Neville happily played. Harry was sure that he was completely secluded at home prior to coming to Hogwarts. Harry asked him a few simple questions about his life. Turned out that Neville was secluded at him. His Grandmother was highly paranoid of people when it came to him. He grew up with no friends, leading to an abysmal social understanding. So Harry decided to take the boy under his wings.

Ron looked like Neville was making the greatest mistake in his life.

Rude.

At one point, a blond boy that looked somewhat familiar looked into their compartment and insulted Ron and Neville. Harry huffed, "Look, Home Alone. Just because we are not doing anything to shut you up doesn't mean you're safe. If you continue this road, I'll designate you as the Twins' personal guinea pig for their prank experiments. Trust me. They'll savor your pain like Dementors,"

The boy, named Draco Malfoy, shook his head in confusion at the insult, "Who's Home Alone?"
