Awaken the Queen

Danny opened a portal to a frozen dune in the middle of the ocean. Beyond, he can feel the barrier put up by the Other Lot to protect this place. Without Clockwork's aid, he won't even know where he was or who was inside. But when he decided to ask Jazz what sort of trait he should look for that would suit his need as both Harry's guardian and as himself, she gave him a list.

First; she must not be related to anyone in the Magical World but must also be Magical herself so that she can protect Harry should there be a need for it. The reason for this was because Jazz didn't want anyone to influence the way she or Danny raise Harry. Not from the magical society with their backward culture or the ordinary people who could sow prejudice like Petunia due to jealousy.

Second; she must be able to counter Danny's aura of death. This was important because she noticed that Harry grew feverish when spent too long near Danny, something that neither wanted. His health must come first so it was imperative that Danny found someone that could counter him.

Third; she must be brave and steadfast. A very important quality as Harry was bound to attract trouble as the Boy-Who-Lived. Her concern must be Harry at all time. She must not be swayed by money or fame. Basically, a truly motherly person and family woman. This was probably the hardest because very few woman could give that sort of dedication to a child that wasn't hers.

Fourth; Harry must like her.

Danny sighed as he sought the entrance the normal way. He can't just phase through as it could alert the guardians of this hallowed ground. When he asked Clockwork where he can find such a woman, because the second quality alone was nigh impossible for him though also the most important aspect for his 'wife' to have, Clockwork immediately informed him of one such person.

This person was jealously guarded by the Other Lot and frankly? Danny didn't blame them. After all, she was possibly the most powerful person on this side of the Veil. Not to mention, she was 'beloved by magic'. Even if Voldemort came back, not even the Killing Curse can harm her. The best person to have around Harry. Not to mention, she was also 'beloved by the Elements'. Even if there was natural disaster, she will be safe. But the problem was if she would extend that protection on Harry.

The kicker here was that she was 'beloved by Life and Memory'. She was immortal, like him. But unlike him, she was alive and part of this world. Nature itself will keep her alive, even if she desired for death. That alone caused him to feel for her. So, to preserve her sanity, she slept and 'lived in memories'.

Danny finally found the entrance and bowed his head, "Greetings, Lady Ahtohallan. I am here to greet you Beloved Daughter,"

He cannot hide anything from the Mother of Memories. Just like how he cannot hide anything in front of Father of Time. After all, Time and Memory walked hand in hand, parallel and mirroring each other perfectly. So he knew that he should be respectful but not submissive. Just as she have her chosen Champion, he was Clockwork's.

There was a voice, whispering as if a crowd was talking at the same time with the same words, "What is the Tormented Son doing here and why does he seek my Beloved Daughter?"

Tormented? Well, that was fitting. His life was messy and full of trials after trials. He was, indeed, tormented. He kept his head bowed, "I have a proposal to make,"

There was silence...and then;

"And interesting proposal. You may enter,"

Danny nodded his head, bobbing a little from his bow, "Thank you, Milady,"

He was only casual with Clockwork because Clockwork allowed it. It was also how Clockwork wanted their relationship to be. However, with Lady Ahtohallan, Danny knew that manners can go a long way. He wasn't the foolish and brash 14 years old hero wannabe anymore. He's an adult and things that can be overlooked as ignorance in his teenage years would not be brushed aside in his present age.

The path to the center of Ahtohallan was long and winding. It felt as if he was walking forever. He felt tempted to just fly but he felt that doing so would be considered rude and he'll just be spat to the entrance. He had to remind himself that he was doing this for his family. He kept in mind of Harry and Jazz. He hoped that Fright Knight will keep them safe should anyone invade the Shrieking Shack. He kept contact with Gandalf after all, making sure that the Headmaster keep his promise to keep Harry safe from the world outside.

Gandalf informed him about the damned Prophecy. Danny had demanded it when he felt the death aura in Harry's scar. He wanted to deal with it but magic was tricky. Ghost cannot be affected by magic but neither can magic be affected by ghostly power. In most cases, they cancel each other upon direct contact. The closest that magic and ecto-energy can interact was either through necromancy or through spiritual magic or soul magic. Both considered taboo magical art.

Perhaps this Beloved Daughter can do something about the scar?

The long winding icy path finally ended and Danny found himself inside a large hall with something in the middle. He remembered those Disney stories about Princess sleeping in a glass coffin or in a bed surrounded by roses. Glowing delicate white flowers, snowbells, grew all over the snow covered floor instead of briar of roses. He carefully made his way, making sure he did not step on any of the delicate blossoms, until he finally reach the icy white bed with someone sleeping inside.

He looked at the person and he felt something in his wept. It was a strange reaction. She was pale as a porcelain doll with pale freckles scattered across her cheeks and nose bridge. Her hair was platinum blond, icy white and gold. The slight dusting of red and her blood red lips told him that she was human and alive. Her ears was slightly tipped, like a delicate leaf. Her lashes were dark despite her pale colored hair, like honey.

He sat down, his power immediately creating his floating throne as he stared at her.

She was far from his type, appearance wise. He tended to lean more towards those with dark hair and dark skin. Perhaps even dark fashion, like Sam. There was a reason why he tended to be attracted to those like Paulina and Valerie when it came to appearance. They were vivacious and lively. But this wasn't about what he wanted. This was about giving a lonely little boy the mother he deserved.

Ahtohallan whispered, "This is my dearest, Elsa. She was born the eldest and Crown Princess of a now gone kingdom in Norway, Arendelle. A Queen for several years despite feeling herself distant from her own people, she was fair and just. Though outsiders call her cold, she have the warmest heart and the gentlest touch. Elsa would sooner hurt herself than hurting those around her. She did not realize that time stopped for her when she was in her early 20's when her power exploded and froze summer. But she was also humble. When she understood her role as my proxy, she relented her hold on the throne to her sister and continued to protect both people and spirit until society change and spirits no longer have a place in their society,"

Danny can respect that. She knew her role and she was accepting. Unlike him, he fought tooth and nail against his destiny as the Ghost King before realizing that it was either him or letting Pariah Dark reign. Something no one wanted. He then asked, "Can she hear me?"

"Speak, Tormented Son,"

Danny drew in deep breathes before looking at her. She was delicate looking like an enchanting snowflake. A true winter beauty. But can she be a fighter?

"There are more ways to fight than just fists. Between the strength of the body and the strength of the heart, I am sure you know which will prevail?"

Whoops. It seemed that he unintentionally insulted Lady Ahtohallan's chosen. She was right, though. Valerie can certainly give his 14 to 15 years old self a run for the money but she was weak minded. Though Jazz was bad with weapon, she was formidable in her own ability to feel for others. Her kind heart had helped him through his worse moments. She fought his demons for him when he felt like breaking.

Danny smiled, "Apologies. I understand,"

"Now, speak. Present to us your proposal,"

Danny's mouth twisted before sighing, "To understand the importance of my proposal, I need you to learn the story of Harold James Potter, or just Harry. My grandnephew. About a decade ago, a mad wizard decided to start a terrorist group that aimed to overthrow the non-magical government of Britain and enslave non-magical people. He believed that those of pureblood magical descent are chosen to lead and to rule over all others..."

Danny started explaining what he learned about Voldemort. He stressed out the horror the man visited on others, both the innocent and those that was against him. He then forced himself to speak of his niece's death and the murder of her family, including the attempt on little Harry's life. He then went in depth with the Prophecy and how Voldemort's choice damned Harry between being killed and becoming a murderer himself.

He clenched his teeth, "But that would be only if I allowed him to fight Voldemort alone. I am not worry about the coming fight, I am worried about now. Now, because Jazz is dying of cancer. She had done the life saving procedures twice now and she have grown too old to go through another. My presence is not helping her health. It seemed to deteriorate faster the more time I spend around her. Worse, Harry's own immunity was affected by my presence. I can't...I need your help," He looked at the sleeping Queen, "I need you,"

He can feel her power, her aura of life countering his. Normally, all these flowers would have withered and die, magic or not, but her aura was actually keeping them safe from him. The longer he sat in this room, he knew. Elsa was exactly what he needed to keep his family safe. In fact, he was addicted to her aura himself. Perhaps she could help strengthen the phoenix tears that Gandalf supplied them with and extend Jazz's life. Perhaps she could fix the cursed scar on Harry's head.

She was feeding him with hope.

He dared to reach out and grab hold of one of her hands folded neatly and demurely over her flat belly, holding them gently but firmly in his own gauntlet covered hand and pressed his temple against her knuckles, "Please,"

"It is up to young Harry,"

Danny blinked and looked up, murky tears falling from his eyes as he found crystal clear blues like the endless sky catching his own phosphorus greens. He blushed green as he pulled back, letting go of her hand. Elsa blinked before slowly sitting up, every movement was dripping with grace. Once again, Danny felt blindsided by her appearance. Someone like her felt too...pretty to be real. Like someone used an Artificial Intelligence program to airbrush a blond beauty from Norway.

She sat politely before him on her bed, the very image of feminine beauty, before asking, "What do you like to ask of me exactly, Your Majesty?"

Danny mentally kicked his brain back online, "I need you to become my wife and mother to Harry,"

Damn it. He just blurted it out. Look, she was utterly baffled and bewildered. Her lashes blinked rapidly and he found himself thinking that they looked like butterfly wings or feather downs on her cheeks with how thick and long they were. She was blushing lightly and his male brain unhelpfully wondered if her whole body can blush too. He wrestled back for control.

God damn it, Dante! She's not the only pretty woman he's been around with! He should be better than this! He's not a teenage virgin boy on his first date! He's not even dating her, for Clockwork's gear!

Maybe he should go looking for company?

No. Damn it! He's proposing to her and he wanted to go looking for a different woman's company just because he can't handle the pressure? He should get himself under control before he lose this chance! Think of Harry! Think of Jazz! Think of your family!

Elsa finally gathered her wits and said, "That was a rather sudden proposal. I am unsure that you would find me a fitting partner. Can't I just be there as a Nanny? I have babysat my sisters and her children's children before,"

She's a Queen, once, and she wanted to take up a job as his Nanny?

What?

He immediately rejected that, "No,"

She frowned, "Why?"

He paused. Why indeed? He didn't really need to marry her, did he? She can come and be a female motherly figure to Harry, just like Jazz wanted. But...won't it be weird for her to still be around when he's older? Also, what if men come calling to try their chances with her?

No. He can't have that. For whatever reason, Danny decided that he didn't want to have to stay awake for Elsa to come back from a date or something like she was his daughter. Not that she was young enough to be his daughter. Rather, she should be older than him. She just looked young. Still, what if people thought that she was his sister? No. No, no. Danny didn't like the prospect of that at all.

Why?

He shoved that into a random closet in his brain to think about later when he wasn't trying to explain why she needed to be his wife and not his Nanny, "Because you are going to be around for a very long time. Long after he no longer needs a Nanny. That will be very awkward to explain to others,"

Elsa thought of it before nodding, "I see. Can't we just make up story that I am you sister or cousin-"

"No!"

Even worse! Danny didn't want to introduce her as his sister or his cousin! Why? Who cares why?! Just the thought of keeping up appearances as her brother or cousin made him want to hurl!

He stressed, "Harry needs a mother. Not an Aunt or a Nanny. A mother. Someone he can proudly present to his friends and strangers as his family. My sister insisted in this to help give him the confidence of a complete family. After all, he grew up with nothing. His Aunt made him feel less than a person. She kept him locked up in a small cupboard under the stairs and starved him half of the time. Giving him just enough that he will live so that her family will not be blamed for anything. Harry needs to experience what it was like to have a proper family and...he needs that security that he is just like any other children," He sighed, "I don't want him to ever feel like he wasn't worth of the love of a mother,"

Elsa watched him patiently presenting his case. After he fell silent, she silently contemplated on his proposal. Danny forced himself to be calm. He wasn't lying when he said what he said. Harry needed a family, a fully functioning family. If she accept, he will ask Harry if he wanted to be adopted by Danny. To make sure that he will receive his father's inheritance, Danny will allow Harry to keep his Potter surname. The only reason he didn't was because he didn't know if he could continue staying, what with his aura of death slowly killing his family. But if she accept this proposal, he could stick around longer if not forever.

Elsa closed her eyes and for a moment, he feared that she would reject his proposal. But then she smiled, "Becoming your wife or not will depend on Harry,"

Danny blinked, "Yes?"

She explained, "If I am to be his mother, a most honored position, then he must be the one decide and judge my worth. It is only after he accepted me for himself will I accept your proposal to marry you. I will not force a child as hurt as him to call me mother when I have not done anything to earn it. He must want me in his life through my effort as I am not the one who birthed him," Her blue gaze dimmed a little and he wondered if she had wanted a child of her own. She continued, "Because of this, I will follow you home and I will tell him what purpose of being there. I want him to decide on his own. This way, he will perhaps learned to read people and be good at judging another's sincerity," She ended with a smile.

Somehow, this just solidify it. He offered his hand, "Shall we shake on that?"

She looked at his hand and grasped the hard shells of his blinding white gauntlet, "We shall,"

Danny smirked, "Welcome to the Khaos family. Can I call you Elsa?"

Elsa smiled, "Of course. What should I call you?"

Danny grinned, flashing his fangs at her, "Danny. I go around with Dante Melinoe Khaos. But close friends and family call me Danny,"

He felt it when something clicked in place between them. He did not study the phenomena too closely as it did not feel threatening. However, he thinks that he can work with Elsa as his partner. He can feel a sort of kinship with her. He didn't really understand it but he trusted his instinct. He then helped guide her out of Ahtohallan, the great spirit oddly silent. The ever blowing blizzard outside had fallen quiet and Elsa looked up at the sky above. Danny blinked when the Aurora Borealis appeared upon her exit.

He can feel it.

This world loved her dearly.

By her feet, snowdrops bloomed as she walked, defying the climate that should have killed it. The ocean, formerly loud and roaring, fell silent and rocked peacefully as they lapped at the frozen shore. Even the wind felt calmer, the night almost serene as the stars twinkled like diamond in the sky. He watched as she breathed in and noticed the frozen droplets seemingly paused only to swirled away when she breathed out.

She was truly loved by the world and the elements.

Elsa looked away him, "And where do we go from here?"

Danny smiled at her before looking at the clock face that appeared in the air and turned back to her, "Through here,"

He offered his hand and she gracefully accepted his escort. Danny can't remember the last time a woman just accepted his act chivalry without making him feel like he was belittling them just because they're a woman. Hm...nope. Never. All of them treated his chivalry like shit until he stopped doing it. But for some reason, doing this for Elsa felt right. Maybe it was because of who he was and who she was. He was a Reigning King and she was a Queen Regent. Treating her like a Queen felt right.

Elsa accepted his escort and even thanked him!

That felt...good? Wow!

But now that she was standing near to him, Danny noticed that she was average in height compared to his 6 foot 9 inches. His wide shoulders also made her even tinier in comparison. It wasn't that he was embarrassed by his size. Rather, he was proud and worked hard to keep in shape. Especially since his enemies sometimes had brain damage and decided that certain days on so and so would be a great day to try and dethrone him. Staying in shape and finding new ways to get stronger without becoming like Pariah Dark was a necessary hobby.

Still, Elsa was tiny!

Why does that make him feel feral? Like he would commit genocide and the most heinous of crimes if anyone hurt a hair on her head?

Was it because he have a soft spot for tiny things? He was immediately protective of Harry and Jazz when he met them. But they were his family. It was to be expected. Maybe there was more to this 'Beloved Daughter' business than just Elsa being loved by the world and life itself. He will have to interrogate Clockwork.

They appeared on the lane leading up to the Shrieking Shack.

He watched as Elsa's face brightened at the sight of his home. He was a little nervous that all the dark coloring would be too much for her. She wasn't Goth after all. But Elsa only looked around in wonder. She smiled at the sight of the mountains and the trees around them. Danny immediately noticed when the bushes changed from withering because of him despite all of poor Pepper's effort to keep them alive to blooming, hale and healthy like they were cared for the Queen of Britain's personal army of gardeners.

As they moved to the door, the nature around his home came alive and thrived. Flowers even bloomed out of season and the creeping ivies revived from their pitiful skeletal shape. The dark and graying grasses seemed to go through a transformation right before his eyes. Even the trees looked more welcoming than haunting. A breeze blew as if welcoming Elsa to the Shrieking Shack.

He knew then that she will breathe life into his home.

The door opened, "Uncle Danny?"
