{Chapter 2 ~ Hogwarts Castle}
I arrived in Diagon Alley without a scratch, bump or bruise. I carried my broomstick, strolling along, when I suddenly saw the store name 'Eeylops Owl Emporium'. I stopped, it gave me a weird feeling like I'd seen or heard of the store name before. I frowned slightly and gasped in shock. Hedwig. The one word repeating in my head. I slowly approached the store until I jumped suddenly.
"Howdy mate! What can I do for ya today? Oh curses! Yar Harry Potta! I rememba ya buying me snowy owl. Owl's he doin'? Get it?" he burst out laughing.
A man about in his thirty's or forty's maybe.
"Uh, well, he, he's dead," I stammered, looking down at my feet.
"Oh, well what can I do for ya today?" he asked, a flicker of sadness in his voice.
"I don't really know, I guess I'll just look around," I said.
"Well come on in!" he replied happily and bounced over to the counter.
As I browsed around, I found another snowy owl with a number of grey spots on the tips of its feathers. It looked almost the same as Hedwig. I looked down at the name tag which said Hexwing. Could Hedwig have had a brother? I wondered. I decided to buy him and do some research.
"Excuse me, I'll have this owl Hexwing please," I said to the man at the counter.
"Sure thing! Ya know that's Hedwig's brotha right? Well that'll be a thousand galleons thanks. See ya 'round!" he smiled.
So it was true, Hedwig did have a brother, I thought. I payed him and walked out of the store.
One I arrived in Hogsmead, I kept walking until I found the store name 'The Hogs Head' and entered. It was all dark and dusty, just how I remember we left it when I secretly passed through the painting into Hogwarts Castle.
"Hello? Aberforth?" I called out.
"Harry Potter, the Boy Who Lived," a grouchy voice behind me called out.
"Aberfoth! How are you?" I asked happily.
"I'm alright doing for my old ages," he grunted.
"I was wondering if I could pass through the painting into Hogwarts again," I pointed to the picture.
"Be my guest," he sighed and walked around to the back of the store.
"Thanks," I called back.
I climbed through the painting and started walking. I began striding and suddenly stopped and sat down. This is where I was meant to meet Hermione and Ron. Five minutes later, I heard footsteps.
"Harry! Oh I've missed you so much!" Hermione hugged me violently.
"Me too! I'm glad you got my Patronus," I smiled remembering the old times.
"Let the man talk," a familiar voice said behind me.
"Ron! I'm so glad both of you are here because we've got an issue," I said as I finished hugging Ron.
"Did you get expelled? No, no, no, no, this is bad, very, very bad," Hermione started freaking out.
"No Hermione, I didn't get expelled, I-,"
"Thank goodness!" she breathed a sigh of relief.
"I found this," I said solemnly as I pulled the Elder Wand from my pocket.
"That, that's not supposed to be there. Where did you get it from?" Hermione gasped, her face stricken with shock.
"I found it on my beside table this morning," I said quietly.
"Maybe a house elf could've put it there or something," Ron said thoughtfully.
"Ron, I don't think a house elf would have put it there, it's more than likely a house elf would be scared of it because it's so powerful," Hermione said scolding Ron.
"I think we should continue on to Hogwarts," I gestured at the end of the painting.
"Let's go look in the library!" Hermione said excitedly who had started walking already.
"Okay then," I shrugged my shoulders and followed.
"The library, seriously?" Ron was groaning behind us.
"Ron, be quiet and keep walking," Hermione demanded.
As soon as I stepped out of the painting a big burst of light hit my eyes.
"Ugh, it's so bright!" Ron complained.
I felt a hand tugging on my arm and forcefully leading me somewhere.
"We...are going.......to...the....library...whether..........you......like.....it..or.......not," Hermione puffed.
"You don't have to drag me you know," Ron muttered.
I smiled, typical Ron, always upbeat.
~~~~~
Once we got to the library I automatically looked over to the restricted area.
"No, we are definitely not going going to the restricted area," Hermione said stubbornly.
"Fine," I said, but I was still looking for a chance to sneak away.
The chance came when Hermione was on the other side of the room with Ron. I quietly slipped away unnoticed and hid amongst the bookshelves until I knew both of them were taking completely no notice of me. My hand trailed across a row of books and then I stopped.
The author of the book was James Potter.
