Chapter 5
[Hey guys! This will be my last chapter update before I need to start taking EOCs, finals, and an AP test. Also I plan on taking summer classes to get a head start so I might not be that active in the summer either. But do know that I will try my best to update!]
⚡️Harry's POV⚡️
Harry couldn't help but snort and mentally agree at Percy's statement. He swore it was as though the universe had a personal vendetta against him, and judging by the expression on Percy's face, it had one against Percy, too.
"It appears as though I didn't quite know what exactly it is I was getting into when I invited you here, did I?" All heads turned to face Professor Dumbledore, who seemed to have recovered and was currently standing by the set of doors that he had been previously lying against.
"Professor Dumbledore," Hermione inquired, "what exactly is it that just happened? I appear to be unable to recall coming across anything like this in my readings."
"I would expect as much, Hermione. For what just occurred hasn't happened in centuries, in fact had I not have been alive for so long, I myself would not know what has happened. Lucky for us however, I was able to learn about this before all books holding such accounts were either destroyed or locked up in the archives of the Ministry of Magic," Dumbledore answered as he moved towards Ron and Hermione to heal their injuries.
"So you know what that weird explosion thingy was? And this has happened before so it's not just something that the universe decided to do because it hates us, right?" Percy asked with a look of relieve on his face.
"Indeed," he replied as he moved on towards Harry, who was silently relieved that he had stopped ignoring, at least for the time being. Dumbledore winced at the damage, and put his hand on Harry's shoulder to steer him towards the set of doors. "However I believe it would be most beneficial if we explain to everyone else as well. And Harry needs more than just a simple spell to fix him," Dumbledore continued as he opened the doors and moved Harry towards the direction of the kitchen, the others following close behind.
They could hear the sound of voices growing louder as they started to get closer, and upon opening entering the kitchen they were able to make out of a few snippets of the many conversations taking place.
"...know we can trust him?"
"...highly doubt...recruiting...age 15!"
"...Harry...safe?"
"The probability...knowing...grandson...very low!"
Dumbledore cleared his throat to announce their presence and all noise ceased impossible fast. Dozens of eyes stared at the new arrivals.
"Uhhh...hi?" Percy said and rubbed his hand awkwardly against the back of his neck. "So...um...I'm Percy and...uh...I'm Voldemort's grandson, I guess?" Eyes continued to stare. "Dam this is awkward," he muttered under his breath, cheeks reddening at the attention.
Harry snorted and he could practically feel his liking of the guy increase by about five percent each second he spent with him. Apparently people hadn't seen how horrible he looked until he made a sound. Suddenly everyone was moving and speaking at once, starting with Mrs. Weasley, who rushed forward.
"My goodness Harry! Sit down, sit down and let me get you some food." She said as she led him to a chair and made him sit down before quickly hurting off back to the kitchen.
While sitting Harry noticed how half the Order appeared to have come towards him to help him while the other half seemed to have gone immediately to Dumbledore, who was right next to an uncomfortable Percy, to know what had happened.
Ferula. Episkey. Tergio. Brackium Emendo.
Harry felt himself relax at the feeling of pain leaving him but wince at the odd and unusual feeling of bones mending in such a small amount of time. Once he was fully healed and bloodstain free, he quickly surveyed on who and was not there. Sirius, Mr. Weasley, and Moody were all with Dumbledore, while Tonks and Professor Lupin were healing him.
"Where's Fred and George?" Harry asked Lupin.
Lupin frowned, "I believe they said that they were going to Diagonal Alley to get some supplies for something. I'm afraid they neglected to provide anymore information other than that. Why do you ask?"
"Oh it's nothing I was just curious," Harry replied. A bowl hit the table he was sitting at with a small thump.
"Eat up dear, you look famished," Mrs Weasley said before going back to the kitchen to get other bowls for everyone else.
He felt a little bit of drool starting to be form as he looked in. Small but many chunks of a delicious smelling meat, surrounded by a steamy, thick broth and a few vegetables stared up at him. Eagerly, he grabbed at the wooden spoon left in the bowl and started to eat.
The others must have been hungry as well because the second everyone was sitting and had a bowl, each person's respective bowl of stew got attacked by its owner's spoon in a need to calm the hunger that filled their stomachs. Once everyone was done all eyes turned to Dumbledore.
Percy opened his mouth and started to speak, "So Mr. Double Door—". "It's pronounced DUMBLEdore, young man," Dumbledore interrupted not unkindly. Percy's blushed in embarrassment and Harry felt pity for him at the realization that he'd probably been more embarrassed this one day then Harry himself had been in an entire week.
"Right, sorry Mr. Dumbledore. So, um, you said that you knew what what had happened between me and Harry with the whole handshake thing? And since we're all her can you finally tell us what was it?" he asked.
Harry leaned a bit forward in his seat towards Dumbledore's direction in anticipation as he waited for him to finally address the question that had been on all of their minds.
Dumbledore smiled, "It appears to me, that you and Harry are what is called half-souls." And Harry couldn't help but feel his eye tick as he mentally facepalmed at the way Dumbledore has said answered their questions with a single sentence that he made seem as though it held all the answers to the universe.
