Chapter 2 (Sneak Peek)
"What is happening, Albus?" Minerva McGonagall asked after they checked up on Hermione Granger. "It's been nearly a week since she's opened her eyes!"
"According to Poppy, she's in a magical coma, Minerva," Albus replied calmly as they walked into the dining room. "But why? We do not know."
"We should have taken her to St. Mungo's!" Minerva told him for what seemed like the thousandth time.
"I believe I know what is happening."
The two professors turned around and saw Sirius Black standing in the doorway.
"The same thing happened to an old friend of mine's son," the Head of House Black stated as he sat down at the head of the table. "This is how my friend explained it to me: When a witch or wizard reaches their maturity, their magic strengthens-"
"We all know this Black," Severus Snape retorted.
Sirius rolled his eyes at Snape.
"As I was saying," Sirius began. "But when their magic strengthens, their bodies do as well. Now you see, there are some people that have powerful blood flowing through them. Even some Muggles. Their blood contains secrets that are best kept close."
"What are these secrets exactly?" Albus asked curiously.
Sirius glared hatefully at Albus.
"Secrets that are best kept from the world, much like Horcruxes," Sirius retorted, venom in his tone. They all missed Albus's flinch at the mention of Horcruxes. "Now when these secrets are revealed to the person, they meet their most important ancestors. My friend's son met his two most important ancestors. He didn't say who these two were but he did say he learned many things from them. Including the history of the world that has been kept from us."
"And these things are?" Albus asked, eyes narrowed.
"I don't know," Sirius replied. "He didn't say. But even if he did, I wouldn't tell you connard (bastard)."
???
"You have done well child," a female with long red hair said as she and Hermione walked into a mansion.
"Thank you Grand-mère (Grandmother)," Hermione replied as she sheathed her sword. "I am still not entirely sure how I have all of this, but I guess it's because of my subconsciousness. What do I do when I wake up?"
"You will do as you do every day," her grandmother replied. "This will be the last time you speak with me or Arno. You will soon wake up, Hermione, but there are still things you need to know. When you wake up, go to your wizard bank and ask to go to Vault 1789. There you will find clothes that should fit you. If not, I'm sure you could get them magically fitted."
Hermione nodded.
"Also, do separate from the cochon stupide (stupid pig) soon," the woman said. "A brilliant young lady such as yourself deserves someone smarter and more politically powerful. Not to mention handsome. For say, that Boldon fellow you told us about?"
"G-Grandmother!" Hermione exclaimed, her face red." Y-You know why I can't!"
"Then perhaps you should get the family ring I had made with the help of a man named Achille Malfoy," Arno said as he walked into the mansion. "It will protect you from all forms of mental attacks as well as protect you from some potions. I believe Love Potions are one of them."
"How are you telling me this?" Hermione asked as she looked between her ancestors. "I thought that this was all in my head?"
"Might as well Arno," the woman said. "This isn't exactly in your head, Hermione. You are in what you could call Limbo. A realm where the dead and the living can speak with the other. Lord Death allowed this to happen as his sisters are not happy with an old man and his schemes."
Hermione scowled as one name came to her lips.
"Dumbledore."
The woman nodded.
"This is why we trained you in both etiquette and fighting," Arno told the teen. "You are of noble birth in both the wizarding world and the mundane world. In your blood lies the de Laserre family bloodline. Not to mention the Dorian bloodline."
The woman and Arno then began to fade and the woman said, "It's time for you to go, Hermione. You are waking up. Make us proud petite fille (granddaughter)."
