In New York, dreams are born, cultures collide, and possibilities are endless. It's a city that never sleeps, always buzzing with energy and excitement, inviting you to explore its every corner.
In a bustling neighborhood, there was a prestigious school that had a rich history and a reputation for excellence. The school was a towering building with ivy-covered walls and large windows that allowed sunlight to stream into the classrooms.
The hallways were adorned with colorful artwork and inspirational quotes, creating a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere. The classrooms were equipped with the latest technology and resources, providing students with everything they need to succeed. The teachers were passionate and dedicated, pushing their students to achieve their full potential and explore their passions.
Students bustled through the hallways, laughing and talking excitedly about their Spring Break.
An eighteen year old girl was at her locker, putting her books up. She had porcelain skin dotted with dusty brown freckles, orange-brown hair with yellow streaks and she had light teal-blue eyes.
"Savyyyyyy!" A seventeen year old girl squealed as she wrapped her arms around Savannah's waist. The girl had chocolate brown skin, deep red and magenta hair and deep blue eyes. "Can you believe it? Our class is going on a field trip!"
Savannah giggled, "I know, I know, Penny. I think Rhonda would share your enthusiasm considering how she loves the outdoors."
Penelope grinned excitedly and she hopped up and down. "I can't wait!" "Hey, y'all!"
Penelope and Savannah looked over at six other girls as they walked over. Trinity Schmidt was a nineteen year old girl who lived with her parents and her brother. She had a part-time job at the local library. She had light brown skin, deep brown eyes and dark brown hair that was tied in a ponytail with a dark purple bow.
Reyna Rose was a seventeen year old girl who had her own boutique shop. She lived with her parents and her sister. She had almond brown skin, dark brown hair and deep blue eyes. She was wearing light blue eyeliner.
Stacy Griffin was a seventeen year old girl who lived with her dad. She was a skilled magician apprentice who helped her dad with his magic tricks. She had pale ivory skin, raven black hair and light blue eyes.
Anika Jensen was an eighteen year old girl who lived on a nearby farm with her grandmother, her brother and her little sister. She had pale ivory skin dotted with deep brown freckles, emerald green eyes and blonde hair that was tied in a ponytail. She often wore a cowgirl hat that belonged to her dad.
Felicity Simpson was a seventeen year old girl who lived and worked at a cottage that housed a lot of animals that she would take care of. She even worked at a pet store and on most weekends, she worked as a veterinarian. She had porcelain skin, light brown hair and teal-green eyes.
Rhonda Dash was a seventeen year old girl who lived by herself. She was a professional athlete and she was even awesome at sports, especially soccer. She had pale ivory skin, dark brown hair with light tan-brown streaks and dark brown hair.
The eight girls were not only best friends, they were also in a band. Whenever school ended, they would hang out at Savannah's house and play their instruments. Savannah, Anika and Rhonda played guitars, Penelope played drums, Felicity played with the tambourine, Reyna and Stacy played the keytars and Trinity was the lead singer.
"Hey, girls," Savannah chuckled, "so how many of the students are going?" "Just the people we know from class," Stacy replied, "most of them aren't happy."
"Well, I'm sure the trip won't be this lame when they find out it's a scavenger hunt," Rhonda snickered. Anika gave her friend an amused look, "I thought you weren't fond of those kinds of things."
Rhonda shrugged. "Hey, if I find treasure, it's finders keepers." Penelope burst into a fit of giggles and the bell rang.
"So when is the field trip?" Savannah asked curiously. "Right after class," Trinity answered, "Principal Celestina and Vice Principal Lune are taking us to the Appalachian Mountains."
"Awesome!" Rhonda squealed, jumping up and down with excitement. Felicity giggled, "I can't wait to see what kind of animals are there."
"I'm sure there'll be plenty of critters for you to see, sugar cube," Anika chuckled, patting her friend's shoulder, "now let's hurry on to class 'fore we get detention!"
At that, the girls immediately hurried to their classes.
Meanwhile in the Appalachian Mountains, the forests were surprisingly calm. There were no humans that were jogging down the trail. It was all just... quiet.
Until there was a rustling sound and a large hulking figure that flew above the trees, scattering leaves all through the air. It flapped its wings before it landed outside of the mouth of a cave. It walked into its home and growled softly, folding its wings against its sides.
This creature wasn't just any ordinary animal. It was a dragoness. She had bright blue scales that shimmered in the sunlight and her eyes were glowing white. The dragoness walked over to a nest and in that nest were eight eggs. They were all colored differently.
The dragoness gently nudged them before she growled and turned to see a much larger dragon. He had silver scales and crimson red eyes. Scars littered his skin.
"Leave this place, Magnar," the dragoness spat as she stood in front of the nest, "you will not have them."
"We will see, Celeste," he growled before he charged at her with a roar.
Celeste stood on her back legs and she slammed into Magnar. The two tumbled across the ground, biting and clawing at each other. Magnar bit down on her throat and she screeched in pain before she swiped her claws across his face. He yelped and reared his head back.
Celeste kicked him off before she scrambled over to the eggs and she waved her claws. A white glow washed over them and Magnar let out an enraged snarl.
"NO!" He roared, leaping at the eggs but before he could try and destroy them, they were already gone.
Celeste fell on her side, gasping softly as blood dripped from the bite mark on her neck. Magnar let out a roar of anger and he spun around to face her.
He stalked towards her, his tail lashing sideways. "You can't stop the Great Fire, Celeste," he snarled, "nor can your clan."
Celeste coughed out blood and she glared up at him. "That... m-may be true... b-but I-I know... that my children... will stop it. They will stop you."
Magnar snarled before he slammed his claws into Celeste's chest. The dragoness gasped before she fell limp.
Magnar breathed heavily as he stared at her limp form. He gritted his teeth before he snarled and he stepped over it and stormed out if the cave.
"Flare," he snapped at the air. A dark red and orange wyvern flew down and landed next to Magnar.
He had bright red eyes and there was a scar on his abdomen. "Yes, my alpha?"
"Go and burn Celeste's body," Magnar said with a scowl, "I'm sure her little kingdom will no doubt hear of her passing soon."
"Yes sir," Flare replied, "but... what about the eggs?"
Magnar growled, "they've most likely been destroyed. Just do as I said and once you're done... if those eggs haven't been destroyed... send the Dark Dragons to track them down."
He flew up into the air. Flare watched him before he looked at Celeste's body. He walked closer and he sighed softly.
"You were a good queen," he murmured, "may the Spirits be kind for your Solas."
He blew his flames at Celeste's body before he flew up into the air and disappeared through the trees.
On the other side of the Appalachian Mountains, Principal Celestina, Vice Principal Lune and the students were walking down a trail.
"Alright, students," Principal Celestina said, "everyone will spread out and start looking for the assigned objects on your lists. Come back to this exact spot once you're all done. And stay safe."
"Oh yeah! We've got this in the bag!" Rhonda grinned. All the students started to disperse in groups of four.
Savannah, Trinity, Anika and Felicity walked through the woods.
"Okay, so what are we looking for?" Anika asked, looking at the list.
"A bush of blueberries, a pinecone, a few bird eggs and I think some kind of fruit," Trinity read out loud. She frowned in confusion and she glanced at the trees.
"Okay, the pinecones and blueberries I can understand but why bird eggs?" She asked.
"Well Vice Principal Lune was in charge of the lists so maybe we can ask her later," Savannah said.
"Found some eggs!" Felicity called out from nearby and the three hurried over to their friend who had pulled back some bushes and Anika widened her eyes.
There were four eggs but they were too big and too colorful to be bird eggs.
"Well... those are mighty colorful," Anika commented. Felicity and Savannah nodded in agreement. Trinity picked up the pale light grayish mulberry egg and she stared at it.
"I think we should take these with us," she said, "I can't explain it but something about these eggs feels... different."
Savannah picked up the brilliant amber egg and she looked at it. "They're all warm," she said.
Anika carefully picked up the brilliant gamboge egg and she blinked in surprise. "You're right!"
Felicity picked up the pale, light grayish gold egg and she held it close.
Then Trinity's phone went over, startling her. She took her phone out and she looked at it.
"Looks like the rest of the girls found more eggs," she said.
"Oh boy," Anika murmured, "let's meet up with them and we can head back to the campsite."
Savannah nodded and the girls hurried into the trees. Unbeknownst to them, a cloudy white dragon was watching them from the bushes. He had stormy gray wings and sky blue eyes.
"The eggs... were found by humans?" He murmured, his eyes wide with shock. He inhaled sharply before he scurried away.
Savannah, Trinity, Anika and Felicity walked over to the other girls who looked at them. They were holding different colored eggs too.
"This is crazy! What are they?!" Rhonda asked as she held a pale, light grayish cerulean egg. "Beats me," Trinity said.
"They're so colorful and warm and shiny!" Penelope exclaimed as she held a pale light grayish raspberry egg and nuzzled her face against it.
Stacy looked at the pale, light grayish heliotrope egg and she frowned in confusion. "Where did they come from though?"
"Again, it beats me," Trinity said. Savannah looked at the egg.
"It's certainly beautiful," Reyna murmured as she held a light gray egg. The girls all jumped when they suddenly heard the sound of a whistle.
"Oh feathers! We gotta hurry back!" Anika exclaimed.
"But what do we do with the eggs?" Rhonda asked nervously. "We can't just leave them!" Felicity protested.
"We'll just hold onto them until after the trip!" Savannah said, "let's put them in our backpacks and we'll decide what to do from there!"
The others nodded before they carefully but hurriedly put the eggs in their bags and ran back to where their class was.
"There you are!" Principal Celestina exclaimed once she saw the girls, "is everything alright?"
"Yes ma'am," Trinity said quickly, "sorry, we just lost track of time trying to find bird eggs."
"Got it!" Penelope piped up and she shook her head wildly, sending pinecone pieces and blueberries flying out of her hair.
Rhonda stared at her, flabbergasted. "How-?" "I wouldn't question it, darling," Reyna chuckled.
Penelope smiled innocently and Principal Celestina chuckled.
"Well, since this class has finished and with school already ending for the summer, I think that concludes the summer activities today," she said.
"Yay!" The students cheered happily.
"Let's get back to the bus," Vice Principal Lune said, crossing her arms. She glanced at the girls who were whispering and looking at their bags.
Her eyes narrowed slightly. "Now, girls," she said. They jumped and hurried to the bus.
Vice Principcal Lune watched them with a deep frown and she looked towards the forest for a moment before she followed Principal Celestina.
