Chapter 17 -A Talk with Friends-

About two weeks has passed since I broke up with Blake, although, it hurts me to say this, but it's the best for the both of us. I continued with my special training as usual, but this time, I have some help from Pyrrah. I'm not too close with Team JNPR, let alone any other team, but I could use some help with perfecting my fighting style.

I quickly duck under the spear that Pyrrha threw at me, and then I charge towards her, holding both Eden and Azazel in sword mode. When I was about to strike her, I notice that she had her arm extended towards me, and I knew what this meant. I turned around and quickly grabbed her spear that was flying towards me.

"I though we agreed that we wouldn't use our Semblance," I said as I turn around to face her.

I handed the spear back to her, while she an innocent smile on her face.

"I'm sorry. But you can't expect the enemy to always follow the rules," she explained.

"*Sigh* Fair enough. Try to work on your body language while battling. You're telegraphing your attacks with your Semblance," I said, turning Eden and Azazel into their gauntlet mode.

"Stopping for today?" Pyrrha asked with a concerned voice.

"Yes. Things... has been rough for me lately," I told her.

"Yeah, I heard. Sorry that it didn't work with Blake," she said in a sad tone.

"It was for the best, really," I said, walking towards the exit of the arena.

"Hey (F/n)? If you ever need to talk to someone about relationships, I'm here for you," she said with a small smile.

"Jaune still oblivious?" I asked jokingly.

"Sadly, yes," she responded.

"Sorry to hear that. I hope that he figures it out soon," I said with a smile myself as I leave the training room.

'How can you be so dense, Jaune? I do not wish to call Cupid or Aphrodite for assistance,' I though as I walk towards my dorm.

When I was about to open my door, I heard Weiss calling for me.

"What's wrong, Weiss?" I asked.

"You need to talk with Blake. Since the news said that the leader of the White Fang is dead, she's been working herself to death, to figure out who the next White Fang leader will be," she explained.

"*Sigh* Fine. Where is she?" I asked, letting out an annoyed sigh.

"She's at the library. I hope you can try to knock some sense into her," she said, walking away.

Few minutes later, I arrived at the library and started to look around for the kitten. After a while, I found her, looking at one of the holographic monitors. When Weiss said that she was working herself to death, she wasn't kidding. She had bags under her eyes, her hair was a bit of a mess and her eyes looked red.

"Blake, are you alright?" I asked her with concern as I approach her.

"(F/n)! Y-yeah, I-I'm fine. Why do you asked?" she asked nervously.

"Well... judging by your appearance and all this paperwork... No, you're not doing fine. *Sigh* Blake, I don't know why you're doing this to yourself, but you need a break," I said to her in a serious tone.

"No! You don't understand. With Adam gone, The White Fang only got Roman as their leader. Oum knows what will happen now!" she said, getting a bit angry.

"Blake, you're in no state to do anything right now. You need to rest," I said to her.

"No! If I'm we aren't going to stop them, who will!?" she shouted.

"Your team," I simply responded.

She went silent after hearing that.

"You got a strong team by your side, but it will only function well when everyone is working together, and right now... you're not. You're trying to do everything by yourself. And besides, you're only young once. Enjoy the peaceful time you have left," I said to her with a smile.

Suddenly, she wraps her arms around me and started crying. I hugged her back and started to calm her down.

"Shh, it's going to be alright. I'm here for you," I whispered to her.

'Father Oum, we lift up all those who are facing illness today. We ask that you would bring healing, comfort and peace to their bodies. Calm their fears and let them experience the healing of your love. Amen,' I though as use a bit of my healing powers to calm her down.

"Come, let me help you to your dorm," I said, gently guiding her.

She didn't hesitate and started to walk alongside me. Halfway to the dorms though, she fell asleep, so I needed to carry her bridal style. After some time, we arrived in front of her dorm. I knocked on it and seconds later, Ruby opened the door for us.

"Hey Ruby, could you help me with Blake? She fell asleep halfway here," I explained to her.

"You talked to her?" she asked in a worried tone as she opened the door completely for Blake and I.

"I did, I only hopes that it's enough to calm her down a bit," I explain as I put Blake in her bunk bed.

"(F/n), thank you for helping her," Ruby said with a shy smile.

"Hey, no matter what she thinks of me, I'm still her friend," I said, making my out of their dorm.

"Say... (F/n)?"

"Yes Ruby?"

"W-would you like to go to Vale with me tomorrow?" she asked shyly.

I though for a minute, to see if I had anything planed for tomorrow, but nothing came up.

"Sure, I got nothing planned," I said with a smile.

"Great! I'll wait by your dorm after school," she said with enthusiasm.

"Alright. See ya," I said, walking back to my dorm.

-Team Sylph's Dorm-

Nickel was busy checking the exams that the students did, until (F/n) came walking into the room.

"Hey (F/n). How are you holding up?" Nickel greeted.

"Hey Nickel. Things could be better," he responded with a neutral expression on his mask.

"That's understandable. But you're still standing after everything that happened," said Nickel with a smile.

"Yeah, but life does it best to bring me down," he said, sitting on his bed.

"It does for everyone. Though you did cheated death twice," said Nickel, remembering the story he told about Blake and Adam.

A sad smile was formed on his mask as he looks down to the ground.

"Well, I won't bother you anymore from your work. I'm going to sleep for a while," he said lying down.

"Alright. Sleep well. And remember, if you need to talk, Rogue and I are here for you," Nickel said before getting back to his work.

"You're the second person to say that, but I still appreciate it," he said before he falls asleep.

'Poor kid. *Sigh* I do hope that everything will turn out right for him at the end,' Nickel thought as he continued to check the exams for mistakes.

-Gods Realm-

"Hello son," Lillith greeted the moment I opened my eyes.

"Hello mom," I greeted back.

"Are you ready for your training?" she asked with a gentle smile.

"I'm ready. What are going to do today?" I asked curiously.

"Flying exercises. Lucifer and Apollyon mentioned that you can fly, but that you needed some practice. So that's what we're going to do," she said as she spreads her demonic wings open.

I did the same with my wings and prepared myself mentally, because I knew how tiring this is.

"Come on, show me what you got," she said, taking flight.

I walked towards the edge of this floating island and looked down to see the Hellish landscape.

'It's now or never,' I though as I take a few steps backwards and made a running start towards the edge.

With a powerful jump, I leaped into the air and started to glide around with the help of my wings.
