Chapter 12 -Learning Different Tastes-

A week has passed since that little chat in the library, and we decided to go on a calm and peaceful date on the weekend. Right now we were on our way towards Blake's favorite tea house. Things has been... nice to say the least. Blake is very different from Yang, but different in a good way. While Yang is... energetic and hotheaded, it can also be tiring after a while. Blake on the other hand, is calm, collected and mysterious.

Once we arrive at the tea house, I started to smell the scents of teas in the air, something I'm not really used to, but it's quite calming.

"I see a spot there next to the window," said Blake as she started towalk towards the table.

"Alright. Say Blake, what kind of tea would you recommend to me? It's not something I drink too often," I said to her as we both sat down at the table.

"I would recommend Earl Grey tea. In my opinion, you can never go wrong with that," she said with a smile.

"Alright, thanks," I said with a smile.

Moment slater, a waiter came by and took our order, then went away to prepare them.

"So Blake, what have you been reading lately?" I asked.

"W-well... I've been rereading a book about a man with two souls again," she said, blushing slightly.

"Judging from your blush and that stutter, I presume that there are some mature content in it?" I asked curiously, causing her to blushmore.

"*Sigh* How do you read facial expressions so well?" she asked in an annoyed and curious tone.

"I learned to pick up on the little things when I was surviving at Mountain Glenn. I could pick up the smallest of sounds there and judge from how far they were and learned to read the body language during fights to predict their attacks. Reading faces however, took me a while to read them. But back to the book, if you like to read those 'mature books', well... I'm not one to judge someone's personal taste," I explained to her.

Her blush started to fade as a small smile stared to form.

"Thank you, (F/n). And speaking of judgment, I've been meaning to ask you something."

Just as she said that, the waiter came back with our teas, and we boththanked him.

"And what would that be?" I asked curiously.

"Why... did you forgive Yang like that?" she asked hesitantly.

I stayed silent for a moment, not really knowing how to answer.

"*Sigh* When... someone does something wrong, don't forget all the things they did right. Things don't happen for no reason, they happen to teach you something," I explained.

She was shocked that you said something so deep.

"Where... did you learn that?" she asked, still shocked.

"You're not going to believe me, but I learned them from gravity around Mountain Glenn," I responded, chuckling a little.

"So... that, and what you said to Yang were..." She started.

"Quotes that I read over the years at the ruined city," I said finishing the sentence.

We both laugh at this. Blake and I continued to talk about anything that came to mind and spend about an hour or so just talking. Eventually, we paid for our tea and started to walk to walk around Vale, enjoying the scenery. At some point we arrived at the park and decided to take a break and sit down at the nearest bench.

As we looked around the park, we started to hear music nearby. We look to the source of the sound, and saw some street artists, two playing the guitar and the other a violin. But the curious thing was that I recognized the song they were playing. Subconsciously, I started singing with the music.

"You spoke a word and life began.
Told oceans where to start and where to end.
You set in motion time and space.

But still You come and You call to me by name.
But still You come and You call to me by name.

If You can hold the stars in place,
you can hold my heart the same
Whenever I fall away,
whenever I start to break.
So here I am, lifting up my heart,
to the one who holds the stars

The deepest depths, the darkest nights
Can't separate, can't keep me from Your sight
I get so lost, forget my way
But still You love and You don't forget my name

If You can hold the stars in place
You can hold my heart the same
Whenever I fall away
Whenever I start to break
So here I am, lifting up my heart

If You can calm the raging sea
You can calm the storm in me
You're never too far away
You never show up too late
So here I am, lifting up my heart
To the one who holds the stars

Your love has called my name
What do I have to fear?
What do I have to fear?
Your love has called my name
What do I have to fear?
What do I have to fear?

If You can hold the stars in place
You can hold my heart the same
Whenever I fall away
Whenever I start to break
So here I am, lifting up my heart (lifting up my heart)

If You can calm the raging sea,
you can calm the storm in me.
You're never too far away.
You never show up too late.
So here I am, lifting up my heart,
to the one who holds the stars.
You're the one who holds the stars."

I snap back to reality, by the sound of clapping. I look around and it seams that I have brought some unwanted attention.

"Ehm... T-thank you, but please, applaud the music artists over there. They did all the hard work after all," I said, feeling a bit embarrassed.

Moments later, they went to the street artists and started throwing some lien at their instrument box.

"Never doing that again," I said out loud.

"You... were amazing. I didn't know you could sing," said Blake in a surprised tone.

"That's because i don't normally sing. That time... I kinda forgot that I was outside," I explained.

Blake started to laugh at me. I don't mind her laughing at he, in fact, I quite liked her laughter. As time passes by, the sun slowly started to set on the horizon, signifying that we should head back to Beacon We mounted the Bullhead and started to make our way.

"(F/n) ,I really enjoyed our time together," said Blake as she leans her head against my shoulder.

"So did I... Kitty," I said, taunting her with that nickname.

She gave me a playful punch against my shoulder.

"Say (F/n)?"

"Yes, Blake?"

"I been meaning to ask you something about your mask," she said, putting her hand on my masked face.

"What about it?" I asked curiously.

"Well... when you were at the infirmary, the doctors and nurses tried to pull off, but it wouldn't budge. The same counted for your weapons onyour arms," she said.

"Oh.Well, the mask does attach to my face, but I can detach it my letting it scan my fingerprints. My weapons however... I never had problems removing them, though I would do that rarely," I explained.

"Huh, that's curious. Mind if I try the mask on?" she ask, a bit shyly.

"Sure," I said as I put my fingers against the mask.

Moments later, the mask fell in my hands and handed it to Blake. She carefully put it against her face, and it attached to her.

"Wow, this... is pretty high tech. Night vision, heat vision, radar, recorder, scanner, this is very useful. Now I understand how you're so skilled when it comes to movement," she said looking around.

After a minute or two, she tried to remove the mask, but a worried expression started to form on the mask.

"Here, let me help you," I said as I put my fingers against it.

After a second, the mask released Blake from it's grip. She was still looking nervous, but I couldn't help to but to let our a chuckle. Eventually we reached Beacon and I guided Blake to her dorm.

"Thanks for today, (F/n)," said Blake, giving me a kiss on my cheek.

"No problem, Blake. I enjoyed our time together as well," I said, kissing her cheek as well.

"See you tomorrow," said Blake as we started to part ways.

"See you tomorrow," I said, walking towards my dorm.

-Team RWBY's Dorm-

Blake walked in the dorm and noticed that her teammates weren't there. I saw a note on the desk from my team.

'Hey Blake, I hope that you enjoyed your time with (F/n). We are out to buy some dust, so it should be back soon.

Sincerely, Ruby.'

"Alright. At least this give me a chance to read Ninjas of Love," she said as she walks towards her bed.

But once she lays her eyes on the pillow, there was another note. But she look at the emblem that the letter had, her face turned a bit pale. It was Adam's emblem.

She reluctantly reached the letter, and started to read it.

'Blake,

It has pained me since your departure from me and the cause...I regret to do this but you have left me and my followers no choice

Return to the White Fang and pledge your loyalty to us or your family, friends and team will suffer for your selfishness and fear...

You have 2 weeks to decide.'

She was on the verge of tears when she finished reading this. She knew what Adam is capable of, and he would do.

She read the note again, and again, but she eventually came to a conclusion that she has no choice... She has to rejoin the White Fang.
