So the woodlands around Strawberry weren't the greatest, predator wise. Chose to move a little further north into Big Valley, why I didn't come here first I don't know. It's beautiful with the mountains and the wildlife grazing without a care that I was happily camped by the stream. I could hear a couple of bears in the distance but luckily this space was far too open for their liking.

I have also recently caught wind that Mister Van der Linde and his boys have headed up into the mountains to lay low; despite all the traffic in the area between the town and homesteads, I have reason to believe I tracked them right; heading north to an old mining town. That's the only place I know that far north, vaguely remembering it as a child travelling with my father. They'll be up there a while until the thaw breaks through when spring comes around. In the mean time I can only carry on with my life, taking easy pickings off folk and cutting some deals with business'. I'll take what I can get, and with the high quantity of  whitetail deer and pronghorn in the area, I sure won't be going hungry any time soon.

So today was interesting to say the least... I travelled east for a few miles and headed into a local livestock town to get a few supplies as I was running low; just the essentials. It had more to offer than Strawberry, went by the name of Valentine I believe. While walking past said livestock sheds however, I learnt that my dear Cashmere doesn't like sheep all that much. Threw me on the floor before I could even register what was happening.

I could tell he felt bad as soon I got off my arse and got the air back in my lungs. Stood there like a scolded child after it's mother gave it a telling off; he's a young horse granted, but he's got a wise head when he needs it. If only he'd use it more often. Think he could also tell I wasn't all that happy with the mud makeover as well, never known a town to have streets this filthy! Got absolutely everywhere; now I need a bath, clean clothes and a whole new lot of dignity.

Despite all the strange looks and stare downs from folk, I managed to get shit done. Gentleman running the hotel didn't make too much of a fuss when I trudged in asking for a bath and a room for the night. At least this way I can get well rested before snooping about here, finding any easy pickings
