Haze
I stretched my arms, then cuddled closer to the Joker. A warm stream of light illuminated the dust particles in the air. I looked back, through the window. There were trees, and past that, mountains, the tips frosted with snow. I sighed with happiness, a warm glow in my stomach.
"We should probably get up, Harls." I smiled and wrapped my arms around him.
"I know. It's such a nice day though. I just want to lie here with you."
"Same. But the kids will be getting hungry." He kissed the top of my head, sending shivers down my spine.
I sat up, bent down and kissed him back, my eyes closed and my hands knotted through his brown hair.
"Let's go then."

Our children were like angels. They cooed and squealed as I placed a bowl of blended apple in front of them, the light catching their eyes and the strands of their hair. The Joker bent down and kissed them each on the forehead as a good morning. They giggled and patted his face.
"What do you want to eat?" I asked, leaning over the counter.
"I'll have what you have." He smiled at me, a dazzling smile that made my heart beat faster. "I'll go make us coffee."
And so we danced through the kitchen, him making coffee, the smell filling the room, while I sang and spread fresh jam onto pieces of toast.

We were walking, hand in hand through a meadow. The sun was in the middle of the sky, glowing down onto us and making the white flowers a warm yellow. He plucked a buttercup off the ground and held it below my neck. I felt its delicate leaves flutter against me.
"Do you like butter?" He whispered.

Harley. Harley. Harley. Harley.
I was beating a man. His blood was all over me, filling up the floor of the room, and getting higher, over my toes now. My bat was a blur of colour, hitting him fast, too fast. He was drenched in his own blood. I was laughing loud, the sound echoing through the room and back at me.
I walked around to the front of the chair. That's when I started to scream.
It was the Joker, his eyes open wide, the skull of his head beaten in, strands of his green hair on my bat, plastered to his face, on the ground floating in his own blood. But I couldn't stop. The bat came down again and again and I screamed in anguish. His eyes moved, looked right at mine.
"I never loved you." Oh it hurt so bad.
