CHAPTER 60
Mata Parvati was missing those days when they all her kids would come together. While readying the puja thali she was occupied in the memories of all the good old days.
"Behen ?" Narayan's ever so sweet voice ringed in her ears. A smile appeared on her face as she turned around, standing up.
"Bhrata Narayan ? Pranam." She greeted smilingly.
"Nahi. Mai tumhara pranam swikar nahi kar sakta." Narayan said playfully.
"Kyu Bhrata ? Mujhse koi truti huyi hai ?" Mata Parvati asked.
"Parvati, tum bhul gayi ki aaj Rakshabandhan ka din hai ?" Narayan asked causing her to chuckle.
"Nahi Bhrata, mai bilkul nahi bhuli. Dekhiye, maine toh sab taiyaariya kar rakhi hai." Mata Parvati smiled showing him the puja thali which had the Rakshasutra. Narayan smiled at her.
"Waise Devi Laxmi kaha hai ?" Mata Parvati asked.
"Chalo mere saath." Narayan said with a knowing smile, definitely hiding something.
He and Mata Parvati went to the place where Mahadev does his meditation. To the suprise of all mother she found Devi Laxmi, Devi Saraswati and Brahmadev.
And that was not all, her happiness was increased a thousand times seeing all her children together. Amarsri, Srinav, Kartikeya and Ganesh were there and even Ashok Sundari had come with her beloved husband Nahush.
"Pranam Mata !" The children greeted.
"Pranam Devi !" The rest of the gods greeted.
"Kaisa laga mera upahaar ?" Narayan asked.
"Ati priye Bhrata, isse adhik mai aur kuch maang nahi sakti !" Mata Parvati smiled.
"Hume shigrata karni chahiye, muhurat nikla jaa raha hai." Nahush said.
"Uchit kaha putra." Mata Parvati smiled.
And hence the ceremony of Rakshabandhan began. Mata Saraswati tied rakshasutra on the hand of Mahadev, while Devi Laxmi tied it to the wrist of Brahmadev and Mata Parvati tied the Rakshasutra on the wrist of Narayan.
Similarly Amarsri and Ashok Sundari started by tying Rakshasutra on the hand of Ganesh first.
"Jiji, yeh Rakshabandhan ki pratha kabse shuru huyi ?" Ganesh asked.
"Jab Mamishree Laxmi ne Raja Mahabali iss Rakshasutra se bhai behen ke bandhan mei baandh liya." Ashok Sundari said.
"येन बद्धो बली राजा दानवेन्द्रो महाबल:।
तेन त्वामनुबध्नामि रक्षे मा चल मा चल।।" Amarsri said. (I am tying you with Rakshasutra, similar to the one tied to Bali, the powerful king of demons. O Rakshasutra, be firm and do not waver !)
Ganesh smiled looking the Rakshasutras tied on his wrist. Ashok Sundari and Amarsri then tied Rakshasutra on the wrist of Kartikeya. And then lastly the wife of Nahush tied the Rakshasutra on the wrist of Srinav.
"Amarsri, tum kisi ko bhul toh nahi rahi ?" Mahadev hinted.
"Nahi Pitashree. Unhe mai kaise bhul sakti hu." Amarsri smiled, closing her eyes and joining her hands.
"Swamiye Sharanam Ayyappa." She chanted.
And thus appeared the son of Harihar, the one who liberated Mahishi from the curse, the uplifter of fallen beings, Ayyappa Swami.
"Pranaam Jiji." He greeted.
"Pranaam Bhrata. Rakshabandhan ki shubhkamanaye." Amarsri smiled.
Ayyappa Swami smiled as he extended his right hand towards her and she tied a Rakshasutra around his wrist. And hence the celebration of Rakshabandhan was conducted in Kailash.
