CHAPTER 67
As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting a golden hue over the tranquil landscape surrounding Dronacharya's ashram, the air was filled with the laughter and chatter of students returning from their evening prayers.
The Pandavas, accompanied by the Yadava princes Satyaki and Satyashree, walked briskly, invigorated by the day's lessons. Arjun, with a gleam in his eyes, surged ahead of the group, his hands slicing through the air, mimicking the finesse of a divine weapon that Dronacharya had unveiled to him and Ashwathama.
"Aur fir Guruvar ne yeh mantra bataya...." His brow furrowed in concentration, he recalled the intricate instructions that the revered guru had imparted, his voice filled with reverence and awe.
The air was thick with admiration, particularly from Satyashree, whose focus was unwavering. He leaned in closer, his gaze was fixed on Arjun, absorbing every detail with rapt attention. It was as if Satyashree was unraveling the secrets of the divine weapon through Arjun’s vivid tale, his mind painting images of grandeur.
"Aur kal uss divyastra ko wapas lena sikhayenge Gurudev." The third Pandav sighed with a smile.
With a knowing glint, Satyashree surged ahead of the group, a smile tugging at the corners of his lips, filled with a knowing confidence.
"Arthat..." He muttered bent down, plucking a slender blade of grass from the earth, the evening breeze teasing at his hair. "Gurudev ne ek teer liya, iss bhaati.... Aur fir woh wala mantra ucharan kiya..."
With the grace of a seasoned warrior, he quietly whispered the incantation Arjun had described, channeling the energy that swirled in the twilight air. The rest of the group chuckled, mistaking his actions for innocent mimicry, unaware of the deeper intent behind his exuberance.
But then suddenly the atmosphere thickened as an ethereal glow enveloped his hand. The air crackled, and a radiant light erupted from the blade of grass. The playful pretense fell away in an instant; the laughter faded into gasps of disbelief as the divine astra materialized before their eyes—a swirling vortex of energy and light, threatening to unleash its power upon the unsuspecting grounds of the ashram.
"SATYASHREE !" Gasps erupted from the group.
"Yeh tumne kya kiya ?!" Yudhishthir shouted, fear etched in his voice.
"Iss astra se sampurn ashram nasht ho jaayega !" Satyaki’s eyes widened in panic, recognizing the astra's deadly nature, but Satyashree remained unfazed, a serene smile on his lips as he gazed at the weapon.
Arjun, recovering from disbelief, resolved to fetch Dronacharya. "M-Mai abhi Gurudev ko bulata hu ! Woh astra ko wapas le lenge !"
"Gurudev ko kyu kasht dena hai ?" Satyashree shook his head, still smiling.
In an instant, the astra vanished, leaving only the lingering echo of its power. Silence fell, and the group stared at Satyashree in disbelief. The innocence in his smile contrasted sharply with the earlier chaos, leaving them questioning the true nature of the divine boy before them. His hair fluttered lightly in the evening breeze, and his demeanor seemed to radiate an ethereal glow, as if he belonged to a realm far beyond their understanding.
The blade of grass, now merely a token of his playful defiance, lay harmlessly at his feet. Satyaki, still recovering from his panic, looked at his younger brother incredulously. "Yeh tum kaise kar lete ho ?" he whispered, half in admiration and half in concern.
The weight of the moment pressed down upon them all. Arjun, still shaken, took a cautious step forward, trying to reconcile the reality before him. "Bina Gurudev se s-sikhe tumne astra ko prakat kaise kiya ?" he stammered, disbelief lacing his voice.
Satyashree tilted his head slightly, a twinkle in his eye. "Aap hi se toh sikha, Arjun. Abhi abhi toh aapne hi iss astra ko prakat karne ki sab vidhi batayi hume. Keval mantra hi toh chahiye."
"Tumhe." Bheem crossed his arms, "Keval tumhe mantra chahiye. Baakiyo ko purn shikshan chahiye hota hai, astra prakat karne ke liye."
"Satyavachan." Nakul said, "Uss din isne Varunastra ko bhi wapas le liya tha."
Sahadev added, "Jabki Gurudev ne hume use wapas lene ki vidhi batayi hi nahi."
"Varunastra ko wapas lena kaunsa kathin karya hai ?" Satyashree simply shrugged.
"Aur iss divyastra ka kya ?" Arjun gestured towards Satyashree, who seemed to radiate effortless mastery. "Yeh astra toh Varunastra jaisa saral-" Before he could finish, Satyashree waved his hand dismissively.
"Ashram nahi lautna ? Der ho rahi hai." He began walking, the gentle breeze ruffling his hair.
Satyaki, still recovering from his panic, looked at his brother incredulously. "Tum hum sabko aise bhayebhit na karo, Satyashree !"
He turned, a playful bounce to his step, as if the chaos he just conjured was nothing but a fleeting game. The group exchanged glances, a mix of admiration and concern swirling among them.
