CHAPTER 10

Rohini came to the courtyard, where the rest of the ladies were, carrying her son Balram in her arms.

"Balram aaj so hi nahi raha tha toh socha apne sang leti aayu-" She stopped when her eyes fell upon the unknown visitor.

Yashoda smiled, "Accha kiya jiji. Padhariye."

Intrigued, Rohini couldn't help but inquire about the enchanting woman before her. She delicately placed a hand on her cheek, her expression filled with wonder, "Yashoda, yeh sundari kaun hai ?"

"Nayika naam hai, jiji. Apne pita se milne Gokul aayi thi." Yashoda said.

Nayika joined her hands, "Pranaam."

"Kalyaan ho." Rohini couldn't help but smile.

However, the little Balram was not merely content with admiring her from a distance. He yearned to be embraced by her, the daughter of his esteemed lord, someone he cherished more than his own self. With outstretched arms, the tiny figure of Balram squirmed and whimpered, his face contorted in a cry.

Rohini furrowed her brow, confused by the cause of his distress. She attempted to soothe him by gently rocking him, yet he fussed even more, his tiny hands reaching out towards Nayika, who approached with a radiant smile, to the queen of Vrishnis.

"Lagta hai aapka putra mere paas ana chaahta hai." She said reaching out for the baby.

Without a moment's hesitation, Rohini allowed Nayika to hold her son, who eagerly nestled into her embrace. His once troubled countenance transformed into one of serenity and bliss as he gazed up at her, a sense of familiarity and pure happiness shining in his eyes.

But the little son of Yashoda, looked at them both, a frown etched on his face. This did not sit well with him, who was feeling left out and wanting her attention. His lips began to quiver, as a cry escaped his lips, catching everyone's attention.

"Arrey lalla !" Yashoda picked him in his arms, and cradled him but he was inconsolable, as he looked at Nayika and Balram.

Nayika simply shook her head with a knowing smile, fully aware of his antics. She playfully teased him, pretending not to notice his cries. The little lord extended his hands at her, as he wailed for her attention.

But as the crying continued, she couldn't help but give in for her heart melted as she saw the desperation in the little lord's eyes. She couldn't resist his innocent plea for her attention any longer.

"Mujhe dijiye." Nayika said, as she gently picked up the incarnation of her father with one hand from Yashoda, while the other held Sheshnaag's incarnation securely.

And so, she cradled both her father and uncle in her arms, feeling the warmth of their love and the joy of their childish innocence. The little lord of all, looked at her with a pout. His innocent expression tugged at her heartstrings, reminding her of the childlike joy that resided within each of them. Nayika couldn't help but chuckle softly as she gently rocked them back

The Gopis surrounding them, who had been skeptical of the mysterious stranger at first, couldn't help but laugh and coo at the sight of the babies in her arms. They were reassured by Nayika's gentle and loving nature, and soon joined in to entertain the babies.

They began imitating animal sounds, making exaggerated gestures, and even dancing silly dances to elicit giggles from the adorable infants. The atmosphere became a delightful blend of innocence and mirth as the Gopis reveled in the feeling Vatsalya bhaav.

Yashoda smiled, "Tumhare paas jaa ke na jaane kyu yeh dono itne prasann ho gaye hai."

"Maano dono janmo se jaante ho tumhe." Rohini added seeing how pleased the boys looked in her arms.

Yashoda went towards Nayika, keeping a hand over her shoulder, "Laali, tum kab tak Gokul mei theherogi ?"

"Kyu ?" Nayika looked at her curiously.

"Yadi tum kuch samaye nikaal yaha aao aur inn dono balako ko sambhaal lo, toh meri badi sahayata ho jaayegi." Yashoda said.

A smile appeared on Nayika's face, here she had come thinking she won't be able to see the incarnation of her father that easily after today, but Yashoda herself was giving her the opportunity to be with him, play with him.

"Awashya." Nayika beamed, "Jab tak mai yaha hu, tab tak mai aapki sahayata kar dungi."

"Ati uttam !" Yashoda was relieved, "Tum apne pita ke ghar ka pata bata do, mujhe jab tumhari awashyakta padegi mai tumhe bulwa lungi."

Nayika looked at her with a nervous smile,"Woh... Um..."

Seeing her expression the little lord and the incarnation of Sheshnaag giggled.

"Ha batao Nayika, kaha hai tumhare Pita ka ghar ?" Rohini asked.

"Yaha se thoda dur hai." Nayika said, "Parantu aap chinta mat kijiye, aapko jab bhi meri sahayata ki awashyakta hogi, mai prastut ho jaayungi."

"Parantu kaise ?" Yashoda asked.

Smilingly Nayika said, "Aap prem se yaad toh kijiye, nahi aayi fir kahiyega."

And then she handed the babies to their respective mothers and joined her hands in front of them.

"Ab mujhe jana hoga." She told.

"Ek kshan thehero !" Yashoda said as she rushed inside her kitchen, leaving Nayika intrigued by her sudden departure.

Moments later, Yashoda reemerged, clutching a small earthen pot in her hands. With a warm smile, she extended it towards Nayika.

"Isme gud wali kheer hai." She said.

"Gud wali kheer ?" Nayika's lips parted as she looked down at the vessel and then back at her, the memories of her previous incarnation's bond with her and her kheer, flooded in her mind.

Holding up a plate, with a piece of millet bread dipped in tarkari in her aged hands, Kaikeyi gazed at Rameshwari who for some reason was making a fuss today.

"Nahi khana aur." The little one declared, turning her head away.

"Parantu kyu Rama ? Aaj itna kam bhojan ?" Kaikeyi asked gently.

"Aapki gud wali kheer bhi khaani hai. Yadi yeh kahungi toh pet bhar jaayega na." Rameshwari explained.

This statement elicited a chuckle from everyone present in the dining area.

Smilingly, Shri Ram said, "Kaha tha na Majhli maa, aapke kheer ke samaksh yeh swadisht se swadisht bhojan bhi thukra de."

"Kyuki uss gud wali kheer se swadisht kuch nahi !" Rameshwari proclaimed folding her hands.

"Ha. Maine swayam banayi hai. Iska Sevan awashya karna." Yashoda insisted, her voice brimming with conviction.

Nayika's lips curled into a grateful smile, her heart touched by Yashoda's gesture.

"Awashya." She smiled, before turning back on her feet and stepping outside the house.

A/N

Rameshwari and Kaikeyi ❤️
Now Nayika and Yashoda ✨

The reason why I'm showing them now, is the same reason why I showed Vidyashree with Dashrath.... Meaning when the incarnation of Krishneshwari comes, she won't be able to meet Yashoda, because it doesn't make sense with the plot.

Hence showing it now 🌝✨

And speaking of Vidyashree.... I remembered I made an art of Parshuram and Bhargav -
