CHAPTER 90

Shatrughan and Rameshwari had reached Madhurapuri with their army, they were standing right in front of the city gates.

"Chachashree, yudh-niti kya hai ?" Rameshwari asked.

"Isse sadharan yudh samajh ke, Lavanasur Trishul nahi layega. Kintu use yeh abhaas hone mei adhik samaye nahi lagega ki uske samaksh asadharan yoddha hai. Aur jab use yeh abhaas hoga toh kya hoga ?" Shatrughan asked.

"Woh Trishul lene punah jaayega." Rameshwari guessed.

"Sahi uttar. Toh batao Yudh-niti kya honi chahiye ?" He asked.

"Iss anusaar Yudh-niti toh yeh honi chahiye ki isse pehle Lavanasur apna Trishul lene jaaye, hum uska vadh karde." She said.

"Ati-uttam Rama. Yudh mei vijay praapt karni ho toh shatru ko vijay ka avsar nahi dena chahiye. Isse pehle shatru woh avsar praapt kar sake, uska vadh kar dena chahiye. Jis prakar Lakshman bhaiya ne Meghnaad ka vadh kiya tha, uska Nikumbhala yagya bhang karke." Shatrughan said.

"Isse mai smaran rakhungi." Rameshwari said bowing her head.

"Koi aur prashn ?" Shatrughan asked.

"Ha. Aap Lavan ka vadh kaise karenge ?" Rameshwari asked.

"Mere Rajyabhishek ke samaye, Ram Bhaiya ne mujhe Vaishnav-astra diya tha. Wahi astra Lavan ka kaal banega." Shatrughan said.

"Uchit hai." Rameshwari said.

"Toh chalo, yudh ka shankhnaad kar dete hai." Shatrughan said with a smile.

"Awashya." Rameshwari grinned.

They took out their conch shells and so did the Sena-Nayak. Blowing them, they announced the inevitable war.

Hearing the shankhnaad, Lavanasur got on his feet. He was all ready to march into the battlefield. But his wife tried to warn him once again.

"Swami, mera man baitha jaa raha hai. Kripiya yudh mei na jaaye." She said.

"Lavan ki patni ke mukh se yeh kayarta bhare vachan shobha nahi dete." Lavan said.

"Woh Suryavanshi hai swami." She said.

"Tum bhulo mat Rani ! Ki Suryavanshi ke ek mahaan Raja Mandhata ka vadh maine kiya tha apne Trishul se. Toh yeh kaun hai mere samaksh ?" Lavanasur said arrogantly.

"Yeh dono unke bhai aur putri hai jinhone aapke Mama Ravan ka vadh kiya tha." She said.

"Toh Aaj usi baat ka pratishodh mai lunga ! Ayodhya-naresh ne mere Mama Ravan ka vadh kiya tha na ! Aaj mai uske Bhai aur uski putri ka vadh karunga." Lavanasur said.

"Toh apna Trishul lete jayiye." She requested.

"Chitiyo ko kuchalne hetu divyastro ki awashyakta nahi hoti, Rani." Lavanasur said arrogantly and stomped out.

With his army he too marched outside the city and came face to face with the radiant Suryavanshi warriors. Lavan saw the main attackers Rameshwari and Shatrughan, both as radiant as the son.

"Rama, ab lagao tankar." Shatrughan said.

At that Rameshwari smiled and raised the best of bows, Gandiv, which was on her shoulders. She pulled it's string till her ears and let's go of it, creating a loumd and thunderous twang, which inflicted fear in the hearts of the enemy soldiers.

"Bhayebhit kyu hote ho !? Keval kala pradarshan hai aur kuch nahi !" Lavanasur said to his soldiers.

But after hearing the twang, even Lavan auestioned himself for a moment, as to whether he made a mistake by not bringing the trishul.
