CHAPTER 75

Upnayan. It means to bring closer. The father brings his child closer to the Guru, the Guru brings his student closer to the scriptures, and the scriptures brings him or her closer to Brahm (truth).

It was the Upanayan sanskaar or Yagyopavitam sanskaar of Rameshwari. This meant her entering the first ashram of life, Brahmacharya, the student life.

Rameshwari was sitting beside sat beside Shri Ram, as Hanuman lit the fire of the yagyakund with the firewood that she had offered earlier.

"Tumhara pehla janm iss sansaar mei ho chuka hai. Ab mai tumhe apne gyaan ke garbh mei dharan karta hu, jo tumhara dusra janm hoga. Gyaan ki praapti ke baad tum Dwija kehlaogi. Ab tum mujhe vachan do, ki aaj se tum jeevan-paryant shaashtro ki, vigyaan ki, aadhyatmik gyaan ki, sabhyata aur sanskriti ki raksha karogi." Hanuman said.

"Mai vachan deti hu." Rameshwari said.

"Tum mujhe vachan do, ki tum yagyopavit ke 3 sutra-roopi vedatreya arthat kavita, gadd aur sangeet ki raksha karogi. Aur 3 hrino arthat Dev-hrin, Rishi-hrin aur pitru-hrin ke prati, apna kartavya purn karogi. Aur iske saath Manushya-hrin aur Bhoot-hrin ke prati bhi apna kartavya purn karogi." Hanuman said.

Dev-hrin means the debt towards Surya, Chandra, Vayu, Indra and other gods related to nature who help humanity by sustaining life on earth. This is payed off by offering sacrifices to gods through yagya.

Rishi-hrin means the debt towards the teachers and seers due to whom one acquires literacy, spiritual and worldly knowledge and vision. This is payed off by studying and teaching scriptures.

Pitru-hrin means the debt towards one's parents and ancestors. One is freed from this obligation through shraadh.

The other debts include Manushya-hrin which is showing obligation to other human beings which is payed off by offering hospitality towards society and people.

And lastly Bhoot-hrin, which is obligation towards birds, animals and other creatures that help one survive. This is payed off by expressing gratitude towards all the creatures.

"Mai teeno hrino ke prati apna kartavya nishtha se purn karne ka vachan deti hu, Gurudev. Saath hi mai prakriti aur paryavaran ke prati bhi apne kartavyo ka nirwah karungi." Rameshwari promised.

And once the promise was given, Hanuman took the sacred threads of Yagyopavit and gave it to Rameshwari.

"ॐ यज्ञोपवीतं परमं पवित्रं प्रजापतेर्यत्सहजं पुरस्तात् ।
आयुष्यमग्र्यं प्रतिमुञ्चशुभ्रं यज्ञोपवीतं बलमस्तु तेजः ।
नवभिस्तन्तुभिर्युक्तं त्रिगुणं देवतामयम् ।
उपवीतं मया दत्तं गृहाण गणनायक ॥" He chanted as Rameshwari wore the Janeu through her left shoulder.
(Om, this Yagyopaveeta which is very Sacred and born from Prajapati in the beginning, which is foremost in giving long life, this Yagyopavit which is worn as a White Thread, which gives Strength and fills one with Splendour, which is created by joining Nine Threads, which represents the Three Gunas and contains the Deities. This Upaveeta given by me, Please accept O Gananayaka)

And once the yagyopavit was worn by Rameshwari, Shri Ram and Hanuman ji leaned towards her either ears, to give her the Brahmupadesh, the Gayatri mantra.

"Om bhuvah." Shri Ram and Hanuman ji whispered together.

"Om bhuvah." Rameshwari chanted.

"Om suvah." They whispered.

"Om suvah." She repeated.

"Om mahah." They whispered.

"Om mahah." And she repeated.

"Om janah." They whispered.

"Om janah." She repeated again.

"Om tapah." They whispered.

"Om tapah." She repeated.

"Omgam satyam." They whispered.

"Omgam satyam." Rameshwari repeated.

"Om tatsaviturvarenyam." They whispered in her ears.

"Om tatsaviturvarenyam." She repeated once again.

"Bhargo devasya." They whispered.

"Bhargo devasya." She repeated.

"Dhimahi." Shri Ram and Hanuman whispered.

"Dhimahi." Rameshwari repeated.

"Dhiyo yo nah." They whispered.

"Dhiyo yo nah." She repeated.

"Prachodayat." They completed.

"Prachodayat." She chanted.

The one who illuminates the earth, interspace and the heavens, she meditated upon the light of that brilliant sun, so that light may enter her intellect.

And so the Upanayan sanskaar of Ram-Suta Rameshwari was completed.

Shri Ram and Hanuman ji chanting Gayatri Mantra in Rameshwari's ears felt so powerful to right 😍🙏✨

Idk if it's Gayatri mantra in itself, or Shri Ram and Hanuman ji chanting it together like so ✨✨✨
