CHAPTER 57

Rameshwari, Taksh and Pushkal got off their chariot, in a forest area. They chose this side of Sarayu river because it won't be crowded.

Walking towards the river, they saw plenty of trees with juicy fruits hanging from the branches as if luring the little kids to come and eat them.

"Jiji, woh fal chahiye." Taksh said.

"Kintu yeh toh bahut upar hai. Todenge kaise ?" Pushkal asked.

Rameshwari thought for a moment, wondering whether they should ask the charioteer to pluck the fruits for them. But then her eyes fell on the rocks, by the side of Sarayu river.

She went towards it and picked one up, aiming it at the twig of the fruit. Rameshwari threw the stone, which cut the twig off and made the fruit fall down. Similarly she threw another stone and made another fruit fall down.

Taksh and Pushkal were elated as they went towards the fruit and picked it up. But there were only two fruits, it wasn't enough to satisfy them.

"Jiji, aur fal chahiye." Pushkal said.

"Kintu ab fal ghane shaakhao ke andar hai, waha tak patthar kaise jaayega ?" Rameshwari said.

The fruits were barely visible deep in the branches of the dense trees.

"Toh aur fal nahi milenge ?" Taksh asked with his big round eyes. Seeing them Rameshwari sighed.

"Jai Maa Durga." She muttered before going towards the tree and climbing it.

This was a task of great difficulty. Every now and then her feet would slip, and she'd get scared for a moment.

"Maa Durga, raksha kare." She mumbled.

Taking a deep breath, she climbed again until she reached the top. She sighed in relief and so did her brothers who would scream everytime her foot slipped a little.

Rameshwari then looked at the fruits, and leaned towards them holding one strong branch, and began plucking the fruits and throwing them on the ground.

Taksh and Pushkal were overjoyed everytime a fruit fell on the ground and were quick to grab them.

"Aur chahiye kya ?" Rameshwari asked.

"Nahi Jiji." Pushkal said.

"Ab aap niche aajayiye." Taksh said.

Rameshwari nodded and with great care began climbing down. Luckily her feet only slipped twice slightly. Finally reaching the ground she took a long sigh. Climbing trees was scary, she thought.

"Chaliye Jiji inn falo ka anand lete hai." Taksh said.

"Awashya." Rameshwari smiled.

The three went towards the Sarayu river, removing their footwear and sitting down with their feet in water. The coolness of the flowing river was incredibly soothing.

Also the fruits too were very sweet and juicy. The risks were worth taking for such a delightful taste. Eating the fruits Rameshwari, Taksh and Pushkal enjoyed the time, joked and laughed. Until he arrived.

"Rajkumari Rameshwari." A firm voice called.

All three of them recognised the voice, which sent shivers down their spine. They nervously turned their heads only to look at Shri Ram.

At this point they knew they were screwed. Especially Rameshwari, because her father had called her by her full name and title.
