CHAPTER 54
Heavy rains were pouring, it was as if the clouds were mourning due to the pain of Devi Sita who was about to give birth to her children.
Her screams of agony echoed in the entire Valmiki Ashram. The labour pain was more intense than anything she had ever imagined. Nothing could be more brutal, not whips or chains.
The room was only the bed and four walls, the ashram women acting as midwives were melting into the background as if they weren't even there. Devi Sita wasn't in sense to see anything.
With each contraction came a pain that dominated her entire being. In those moments, for those seconds that stretched into infinity, there was nothing else.
The room might as well have been empty for all the awareness she had, and when they did talk, touch, gain her attention she found it so hard.
To reply Devi Sita had to find herself from the deepest recess of her own mind and drag herself forward, to use her voice, open her eyes.
The midwife was telling her that is was time, time to push. The pain was unbearable, but even in such a vulnerable moment her mind was fixed on her husband. She had to do it, she had to do it for him, for Ayodhya.
With a guttural grunt she pushed the way the midwives told her to. Soon she felt the baby crowning, the hot stretching of flesh and held her breath. Without any further effort the baby slid into the hands of the midwife. And in the similar way, the other baby also came out to the world.
A sigh left the lips of Devi Sita, as she now lay still on the grass bed, her eyes half closed, waiting for the agony to subside.
Now all she could here was the soothing sound of the rains and also the sound of her children, her twins crying.
"Badhai ho devi, judwa putra huye hai." A midwife said.
And at that her mind reminded her of a conversation.
"Sitey Maa, kya mere bhai nidra mei hai ?" Rameshwari asked innocently.
"Putri Shiromani, 9 mahine purn hone tum samajh lo woh nidra mei hi rahenge. Aur tumhe kaise pata ki tumhe bhai hi milenge ?" Devi Sita asked with a smile.
"Aise hi." Rameshwari shrugged her shoulders.
A small smile appeared on the face Devi Sita. Indeed twin boys were born. Her Shiromani was right.
Soon the midwives brought her sons to her after bathing them and placed them both over her chest.
And although it was raining heavily, to Devi Sita it was as if only sunshine existed the world, as if all the earth was ushered into harmony. She looked into those new faces, those new consciousness. They were perfect. Just like her and her husband Shri Ram.

And the present day descendants of Shri Ram, the family of Maharani Padmini Devi of Jaipur, have descended from Kush.
It is said Kush was dark complexioned like Shri Ram while Luv was golden complexioned like Mata Sita. And when the citizens of Ayodhya saw them, they said that these both are splitting image of Siya Ram ✨
