CHAPTER 37
Time had passed by quickly in Ayodhya, with the great administration of Shri Ram and his obedience to the laws of nature, there was no disease, neither floods nor famine, and no untimely deaths.
Citizens in the kingdom were joyous, healthy and righteous. There was no fear of hunger or robbery. Everyone engaged in their daily affairs in righteous manner.
As the sun began to show up in the sky with his full glory, Shri Ram entered his bhavan after completing his morning prayers and rituals.
But before going to his room, he entered the room of his daughter, which she had gotten a year back on the behest of Devi Sita who insisted that daughters need their own space to play and grow.
Entering her room, he saw that she was still asleep. Just in front of her bed was the huge balcony, with a great view to the Sarayu river, but the curtains were still down, allowing only faint sunlight to enter the grand room of hers.
Shri Ram smiled as he drew back the curtains, allowing sunlight to finally enter the room, and causing the gold and gem embellishments in the room to glitter.
Just as the sun rays touched the eyes of Rameshwari, she instinctively pulled the duvet over her face. Shri Ram chuckled as he went towards her and sat beside her sleeping form.
It's been four years and still she wouldn't open her eyes unless he gently wakes her up, with a song.
"Sarvapratham Surya tujhko hi nihaare
Darshan hetu Devta bhi padhare
Apsaraye kehti 'avsar sewa ka do na'
Rajivnayan khol bhi do RamSuta Rama." He began to sing.
It was silly, how she'd refused to wake up before he sings to but Shri Ram didn't complain.
"Dekhne ko tujhko chidiya che-chehaye
Tere sang jhoomne ko pushp leheraye
Anand ka prakaash shrishti mei bhar do na
Rajivnayan khol bhi do RamSuta Rama." He sang.
And at their mentions the birds gathered and sat on the hand rails of the balcony, chirping to the tune in which Shri Ram sang.
"Sahastra sevikaye lagi teri seva mei
Niche khadi praja darshan ki iccha se
Uth ke inn sabka uddhar karo na
Rajivnayan khol bhi do RamSuta Rama." He sang.
He pulled the duvet from her face to see it properly, but she just turned to the other side, as he shook his head with a smile.
"Chacha Bharat dekh rahe raah tihaare
Chacha Lakshman bhi huye vyakul bechaare
Karte Ripudaman bhi teri pratiksha
Rajivnayan khol bhi do RamSuta Rama." He sang.
Shri Ram gently made her turn around again, so she faces him.
"Mandavi nit-din vyanjan pakaaye
Chachi Urmila naye vastra banaaye
Shrutkirti laayi aabhushan naye, ha.
Rajivnayan khol bhi do RamSuta Rama." He sang.
But her eyes were still closed and this made Shri Ram even more eager to wake her up now.
"Ab kyu mujhe tu pratiksha karaaye ?
Tere sang khelne ko jee machlaa jaaye
Apni mithi vaani se 'Pitashree' kaho na
Rajivnayan khol bhi do RamSuta Rama." He sang.
A small smile appeared on Rameshwari's face, as she flutter opened her eyes which fell firstly on her father. Seeing him her smile turned into a grin, subtly showing her pearly whites.
"Itna prayas toh kisi devta ki tapasya mei nahi lagta jitna tumhe uthane mei lagta hai, Ramey." He said with a smile.
She chuckled getting up from the bed and touching his feet.
"Yashasvi-bhava." He blessed with smile.
Soon few of her thousand hand-maidens, those who were incharge of getting her ready in the morning came inside the room to do their job.
"Ramey, ab Mai chalta hu. Mujhe Raj-darbar jana hai." He said.
"Ji Pitashree." She smiled.
