CHAPTER 22
The sun was ready to set, when finally the gods who had come in disguise got the chance to meet Rameshwari. The line had really tested their patience.
They had been waiting since morning and now it was evening when they finally entered the palace. But it was all worth it after seeing the face of the Ram-Suta, smiling at them.
The devtas and their devis were elated swinging her cradle. They became euphoric looking at her smiles and hearing her adorable giggles.
And then they all left just as swiftly as they had come. Even the last ones of the praja had also gone to their homes.
Now as the sun was set, came in the kings and queens from all around Bharatvarsh. Seeing the royalty entering the eyes of Rameshwari got stuck on the doorway.
Many familiar kings like Sugreev, Vibhishan and Nisaadh-raj Guha had also come to participate in the celebrations.
Several unfamiliar kings and their families came too, Shri Ram and Devi Sita welcomed them. They were all in awe with the Ram-Suta, who had a subtle but unnatural glow to her.
They congratulated Shri Ram and Devi Sita, initiated some small talks, swinged the cradle and then went on to the other hall for the feast held in today's honour, there they were being attended by Bharat, Lakshman and Shatrughan.
This cycle went on and on, until darkness had engulfed the day and moon had taken over the duty of the sun to brighten the sky along with the other stars.
From her cradle, Rameshwari still kept looking at the doorway as if waiting for somebody.
"Kisi ki pratiksha kar rahi ho kya shiromani ?" Devi Sita asked caressing her head, making Rameshwari look at her.
Suddenly the jingling sounds of anklets fell on their ears. Hearing the familiar tune, Rameshwari was elated as she looked back at the dooraway, finally seeing the one she was waiting for.
Mrunmaye came running in to the grand hall with his parents following behind, Samriddhi devi was quick to pick her son up in her arms.
The little boy giggled which very much revealed his excitement. The eyes of Shri Ram and Devi Sita fell on their last guest, and they went to welcome them.
"Ayodhya-pati ko Shripuram-naresh ka pranaam." Ratnakar Sagar said.
"Aapki hi pratiksha thi Rajan, jabse aapki Mahateja Tapasvini putri se bhet huyi tab se aapse milne ki iccha thi man mei." Shri Ram said.
"Tri-lok ka uddhar karne wale Shri Ram ko humari pratiksha ? Lagta hai ki sabhi janmo mei kiye punya iss hi jeevan mei mil rahe hai." Ratnakar said.
"Aapke karm hi varisht hai Maharaj. Kripya meri putri ko aashirvad de." Shri Ram said.
And then Ratnakar Sagar and Samriddhi devi walked towards the cradle, seeing the one bound to him for eternity, Mrunmaye became elated.
"Maa, niche ! Niche !" He said trying to wiggle his way down.
Samriddhi devi placed him on the ground and he took a close look at Rameshwari holding the edge of her cradle. She giggled seeing him finally.
Mrunmaye smiled as he showed her the flower he was holding in his hand and tucked it on her ear. The adults chuckled seeing the adorable scene, especially Shri Ram who was keenly observing the little children with a smile on his face.
'Maine vachan pura kiya devi.' Mrunmaye smiled.
'Jo aap sadev karte hai.' Rameshwari giggled.
Mrunmaye then turned to his mother, tugging onto her garment.
"Yeh gudiya chahiye." He said pointing at little Rameshwari, who looked at him rather confused.
"Kya ?" Samriddhi raised her brow.
"Yeh gudiya Sundar hai. Mujhe yeh wali chahiye." He said.
The adults laughed at his innocent wish. Shri Ram turned to Devi Sita, with a victorious expression on his face.
"Dekha Sitey, mai toh kehta hi tha ki meri Ramey gudiya jaisi dikhti hai. Ab toh yeh baat pramaanit bhi ho gayi." Shri Ram said with a chuckle.
