CHAPTER 21

On the orders of Shri Ram, the gates of the palace were opened. Everyone came rushing in to see the princess, maintaining the line.

In the decorated great hall, from the centre stage, Shri Ram and Devi Sita greeted and welcomed them all. They were standing on the either side of the cradle, with the royal family around them.

"Aap sabhi ka yaha swagat hai." Devi Sita said.

"Mere priya Ayodhya vaasiyo, mai jaanta hu ki aap sabhi ne iss kshan hetu atyant pratiksha ki hai. Kripya apni Rajkumari ka paalna jhulaye aur aashirvaad de." Shri Ram said.

"RAJA RAM CHANDRA KI JAI ! RAJKUMARI RAMESHWARI KI JAI !" They all cheered.

This was it. This was the moment, Damini thought. She climbed the few stairs over the centre stage, great enthusiasm and excitement visible in her eyes.

With some struggle she finally reached the top of the centre stage, her eyes set on the cradle. And there she was lying in her shishu-roop, with an unparalleled aura.

The moment their eyes met, Rameshwari smiled. Damini walked close to the cradle, she didn't even realise tears were already rolling down from her old eyes.

She touched the small feet of her isht-devi, and the very moment a divine glow took away all her pain, all the years of suffering, the mere touch of Rameshwari's feet freed her from the curse.

And to everyone's surprise, the woman for whom even walking was a tough job was standing straight up, without the need of her stick. The citizens were extremely astonished.

Damini joined her hands in front of her, happy tears falling from her eyes. If this is how one meets their isht-devi, then she was ready to endure a thousand more curses.

She then bowed down to Shri Ram and Devi Sita who were looking at the scene with a smile on their faces.

Happily Damini, went on her way. To spend the rest of her days reminiscing the face of Rameshwari and singing her praises.

As she went away and was seen by the rest of the citizens, a new wave of enthusiasm to see their princess, whose miraculous touch ends sufferings.

"RAM-SUTA KI JAI ! RAM-SUTA KI JAI !" They all hailed.

And so one by one the citizens came in and bowed before the princess, some swinged her cradle, others touched her feet, while some did all of it. Everyone wished for her well-being and showered all the praises on her.

"Ram-Suta sadev sukhi rahe !"

"Kitni Sundar hai Rajkumari, bilkul Maharaj jaisi."

"Rajkumari Maharaj jaisi hi veer ho aur hum sab ki raksha kare."

"Rajkumari ke charan Ayodhya pade aur yeh bhoomi dhanya ho gayi."

Not only them, even Rameshwari was delighted meeting the citizens, who were showering all the love and respect on her. She kept smiling and giggling at them as they praised her.

"Maharaj." Devi Sita looked at Shri Ram.

"Ji Maharani ?" He gazed at her with a smile.

"Rajkumari Shiromani apni praja ko aur praja apni Rajkumari ko dekh atyant prafullit hai." She said.

"Praja aise hi sukhi rahe Maharani, meri yahi kaamna hai." He said smiling at his happy citizens.
