CHAPTER 13
Shri Ram entered the dining area of rasoi ghar where his brothers had already been seated. But seeing their niece, they all stood up from their seats and rushed towards her.
"Bhaiya hume khelane do na !" They said.
"Arrey ! Arrey ! Araam se bolo Ghabra jayegi." Shri Ram said, but instead his daughter giggled.
"Nahi ghabrayegi, dekho yeh toh khil-khila ke has rahi hai." Bharat said.
"Khelane se pehle khila de ? Bhook lagi hogi ise." Shri Ram said.
Suddenly their eyes fell on their mothers who entered the dining hall. The brothers bowed down and greeted them.
"Ram, tumhe Raj-sabha jana hai na ?" Kaikeyi asked.
"Ji Mata." Shri Ram nodded.
"Toh laao, Ram-Suta ko mujhe do. Mai ise dugdh sevan karwa dungi tab tak tum shigreh bhojan karlo." Kaikeyi said.
"Awashya Mata." Shri Ram said handing over his daughter to Kaikeyi, who too was ever so happy to go in the arms of her grandmother. But the other sons of Dashrath weren't as they looked at their elder brother with sulking faces.
"Yeh uchit nahi kar rahe aap, Bhaiya." Lakshman said.
"Maine kya anuchit kiya ?" Shri Ram asked.
"Aap hume humari bhatiji ko khelane hi nahi dete. Aap use chachashreeyo ke sneh se vanchit kar rahe hai." Shatrughan said.
"Maine mana Kiya hai kya khelane se ? Khela lena." Shri Ram said.
"Khelane se mana nahi kiya kintu khelane bhi nahi diya ab tak." Bharat said.
"Accha thik hai. Sandhiya ko mujhe sauchiko aur ratnakaro se milna hai putri ke vastra silvaane aur abhushan banwane hetu. Tab tum teeno uska dhyaan rakhna." Shri Ram said.
"Jaisa aap kahe !" They said with faces lit with joy.
Shri Ram shook his head and went towards his seat as the rest of the brothers followed behind. Sitting down their eyes were stuck on the Ram-Suta in the lap of Kaikeyi, drinking milk from the golden spoon.
Soon their wives came, serving food to their husbands.
"Jaga hi diya na aapne." Devi Sita said putting food on his plate.
"Maine nahi jagaya... Woh... Um... Apne aap jag gayi." Shri Ram said.
"Aapke Karan na ?" She asked raising her brow.
"Woh alag baat hai." Shri Ram said.
"Ek hi baat hai." Devi Sita said.
Shri Ram looked at Devi Sita with a demure smile before focusing on his food. The Janak-suta shook her head chuckling.
Soon he finished his breakfast and before heading to the court, he went to his daughter who was in the lap of Kaikeyi.
"Pitashree shigreh aayenge." He said placing a soft kiss on her forehead and the left with his brother.
