CHAPTER 107

The cool water of Tamsa river was soothing the grief-stricken mind of Devi Sita as she filled the water in her pots. Her mind was completely immersed in the thoughts of her husband, Shri Ram, like always.

She looked to her side, where her sons were playing a game by throwing stones on the river, competing whose pebble would reach the farthest.

A small smile appeared on her face, seeing them both laughing and giggling among each other.

"Luv-Kush, chalo." She told after both her pots were filled with water.

The twins came running to her hurriedly, taking hold of the pots.

"Hum utha lenge Mata !" Kush said.

"Bahut bhari hai yeh." She said.

"Mata aap nischint hoke chaliye." Luv said.

Both of them picked up the pots, and started walking but with a little difficulty as they were indeed very heavy. Devi Sita shook her head, and smilingly took both the pots from her sons.

"Isse mai utha lungi putro. Tum dono aage chalo." She said holding the pots with ease.

The twins slightly poured but obeyed, and walked ahead as their mother followed behind, keeping her eyes on her sons.

Soon they reached the Valmiki ashram, which was bustling with activities as always. But the one thing that caught the eye of Devi Sita was the lake where lotuses were blooming.

She stopped in her tracks, as her gaze fell on two lotuses, one was full bloom and another was just a bud, ready to attain its glory. Both of them were close to one another.

A smile appeared on her face as those two lotuses reminded her of her Shri Ram and Rameshwari. A sense of peace and relief swept over her, as she realised the one year time which Rameshwari had asked for was about to get over in just a few days.

This means soon she will get a chance to meet her husband, who was always in her mind, heart and soul.

"Mata ?" The voices of her twins brought her out of her thoughts.

"Ha ?" She looked at them.

"Aap ruk kyu gayi ?" Luv asked.

"Kamal pushpo ko dekhne hetu. ATI Sundar hai." Devi Sita said.

"Mata, aapka naam Sita nahi Kamala hona chahiye tha !" Kush said giggling.

"Ha, yaha sab kehte bhi hai ki aap Mata Lakshmi ke bhaati hai." Luv said with a wide smile.

Devi Sita chuckled at her twins, the only source of her joy.

Meanwhile on the other side, the palace of Shripuram was restless in doing preparations since they heard the horse of Ashwamedh shall enter their premises.

The king Ratnakar Sagar was clear in court today, that the horse will not be stopped and that he accepts the sovereignty of Shri Ram over his kingdom. The ministers had also supported this decision.

Right now the son of Senpati Mahipal, Shaurya-shakti, was running across the palace looking for the one and only prince of the kingdom.

Finally Shaurya Shakti found the Mrunmaye, who was in the front yard of the palace, doing what he liked very much. Doing his excercise while picking up chariots with a single hand.

He was surrounded by charioteers, who were scared for their chariots, internally praying that they don't fall and break. They were quite intimidated by the prince himself, not because he was holding a chariot like it was a toy, but because they had rarely seen him crack a smile.

The face of Yuddheswar's avatar remained serious but also carefree as he raised the chariot up and down with a single hand, like it was nothing.

"Bade bhaiya ! Rath ko chhodiye, aur meri baat suniye !" Shaurya said.

At that Mrunmaye swiftly put the chariot down, much to the relief of its charioteer, as the prince turned to look at Shaurya-shakti.

"Mrun bhaiya, aisi suchna mili hai ki aap prasann ho jayenge." Shaurya said.

"Yahi na, ki Kosal ka Ashwamedh ka Ashwa Shripuram aa raha aur uske saath aa rahe hai Rajkumari Lakshman aur Rajkumari Rameshwari ?" Mrunmaye asked.

"Aapko kaise pata ?" Shaurya-shakti asked with a confused frown.

"Pita-Maharaj, mujhse bina mantrana kiye koi nirnaye nahi lete." Mrunmaye said.

"Arthat, Maharaj ne aapse mantrana kar yeh nirnaye liya ?" Shaurya-shakti asked.

"Nahi. Maharaj ne yeh nirnaye mere sujhaav par liya." Mrunmaye corrected.

"Oh." Shaurya-shakti nodded before a mischievous smile appeared on his face, "Waise, Rajkumari pehli baar humare Shripuram aa rahi hai." He said.

Mrunmaye looked at Shaurya-shakti, pressing his lips together, trying to hide his smile but failing. The son of Mahipal chuckled while the son of Ratnakar Sagar just walked away.

"Kaha chale bade bhaiya ?" Shaurya-shakti asked.

"Pushp chunne !" Mrunmaye said leaving.

The charioteers stood there shocked with wide eyes, wondering did they really saw Mrunmaye smile ? And that too at the mention of a princess ?
