CHAPTER 8

"Ab Shri Ram aur Devi Sita ke milan ki ghadi aa gayi hai." Mahadev said.

"Swami, iski pratiksha toh samast sansaar ko thi." Mata Parvati said.

"Waise Pitashree, Raja Janak ke paas Shiv Dhanush aya kaha se ?" Ganesh asked. Mahadev smiled and then looked at Amarsri.

"Akhand Maharani, Mithila kiske dwara sthapit huya tha ?" He asked her.

"Raja Nimi ke dwara. Nimi ke putra Mithi ke naam se Mithila nagri ko uska naam mila." Amarsri said.

"Toh putra Ganesh, iss Nimi vansh ke chhate (6th) pidhi ke Raja, Devaraat ko Devo ne mera Dhanush diya tha. Tab se hi Nimi-vanshiyo ke paas yeh Divya dhanush hai." Mahadev said.

"Uttam." Ganesh nodded.

"Aur Nimi ke teyisve (23rd) vanshaj hai Raja Janak, Devi Sita ke Pita. Jinhone apni putri hetu veerya-shulka ki pratigya li hai. Unka pran hai ki jo bhi Shiv Dhanush ko utha uss par pratyancha chadhayega, woh uss yoddha se Devi Sita ka vivah karayenge." Srinav said.

----

When Janak heard of Vishwamitra's arrival in Mithila, the capital of Videha, he along with his Purohit Rishi Shataanand rushed to welcome the revered Brahmarishi.

Seeing he was with his disciples, Janak got curious about the two princely young, strong and handsome boys among them. Vishwamitra introduced the Videh-naresh to the princes of Ayodhya and also narrated the valor shown by them in the past few days.

Shataanand was especially delighted to hear about Shri Ram and Lakshaman's visit to Ahalya devi. He was the first child of Rishi Gautam and Ahalya.

And then Vishwamitra along with all his disciples participated in the grand yagya which was being conducted. Later one day, Vishwamitra made a suggestion to Janak.

"Rajan, mai chaahta hu ki aap dono Ayodhya ke Rajkumaro ko Shiv Dhanush ke darshan de." Vishwamitra said.

"Awashya Brahmrishi." Janak agreed. Shri Ram and Lakshman became excited that they were going to see the mighty bow of Mahadev himself.

Janak asked for the bow to be sent and by then he told them about his dear daughter Sita. Janak narrated how he had found her in the womb of earth while tiling the land for the religious ritual.

He was overjoyed to get such a gift of a daughter from Bhu-devi, and from that day he decided that whosoever could string the divine bow of Mahadev shall marry his precious daughter. This was the Veerya Shulka for Sita.

Janak told how he and his wife Sunaina had brought up Sita with a lot of love and care. They had one more daughter of their own after that, Urmila, but still Sita had a special place in Janak's heart.

Janak's brother Kushadhwaj, who was the custodian of Saankaashya janpad also had two daughters by the name Mandavi and Shrutkirti.

"Jab se meri putri Sita vivah yogya huyi hai, tab se anek Raja Maharaja aaye aur iss Dhanush ko uthaane ka prayatna kiye kintu vifal ho gaye. Kitno ko toh yeh unka apmaan laga aur Videh par aakraman karne chale aaye." Janak said.

It was true. Several kings had besieged Mithila and it lasted for a year, before Janak's army chased them away. Not even gods or Gandharvas were able to pick up this bow.

"Jis Dhanush ko koi bhi na utha paya, mai use Rajkumar Ram aur Lakshman ko dikhaunga. Aur yadi Ram use utha ke uss par pratyancha chadha leta hai, toh mai Sita ka vivah usse karwa dunga." Janak said.

And soon the Shiv Dhanush was brought into the assembly in an 8 wheeled iron case, which was being pulled by 5000 well built, best of Mals, of Videha.

The bow indeed was extremely huge and heavy. After all it was wielded by Mahadev after Devi Sati had immolated herself. Shri Ram was especially astonished seeing the Dhanush of his aradhya.

"Kya mai Shiv Dhanush ko sparsh kar sakta hu ?" He asked.

"Awashya." Both Janak and Vishwamitra consented.

Shri Ram went towards cart on which the bow was being carried, he opened the iron case and he keenly looked at the most splendid bow. Indeed this opulent bow was that of the Adi-dhanurdhar, anything less would be a lie.

And suddenly to everyone's astonishment, Shri Ram held the bow from its grip and lifted it up and also stringed it as if it was a child's play. Gasps filled the assembly.

Firmly holding the bow in his hand, Shri Ram simply pulled the string towards his ear, as if shooting an arrow. But the force by which he pulled the string was such that the Shiv Dhanush broke into two with a loud bang !

The assembly was stunned, everyone's jaws dropped while Vishwamitra maintained his smile. Janak became euphoric, finally he had found the most worthy match for his daughter Sita.

----

A delightful smile appeared on Mahadev's faith as his eyes moistened a little. The union of his aradhya Shri Ram and Devi Sita, was accomplished through his bow.

He was in complete bliss and so were Mata Parvati, Ganesh, Amarsri and Srinav after seeing the great valour being exhibited every day by Shri Ram.

Amarsri and Srinav looked at eachother, nodded in understanding and agreement before standing up.

"Ab aagya de Pitashree." Amarsri said joining her hands.

"Kaha jaa rahe hai aap ?" Ganesh asked.

"Vivah mei samellit hone." Srinav said.

A/N

Okay so some people have been debating about the age of Mata Sita and Shri Ram at marriage.

Those who do propaganda to defame our culture, what can we do of them. But those who are genuinely in doubt, here's my theory.

We know for a fact that Shri Ram was under the age of 16, as mentioned by Dashrath when Vishwamitra came to seek him. It took 4 days to reach Siddhashram, 6 days to guard the yagya and another 4 days to reach Mithila. In total 14 days.

So in short the age of Shri Ram was still less than 16.

As per Mata Sita, Janak says since she has reached the age of marriage. Vedas says that after reaching puberty, a girl must wait three years before seeking a groom.

Age of puberty is ideally 13. So 13 + 3 years of wait = 16.

And Janak also says that many kings came and failed. And there was even a seige for 1 year. So this makes Mata Sita be 17-18....

So by this logic, my theory is that Mata Sita would've been older than Shri Ram, who was under 16 at time of marriage.

But again this is just my theory, there can be mistake cause we're assuming that she reached puberty at 13. It could be before or after.

Let's say if Mata Sita reached puberty at the age of 12, then her marriageable age would be 15 and then failing of so many kings + 1 year of seige.... She would be 16-17 at time of her marriage.

But whatever the case is, for a fact we can be sure that Mata Sita wouldn't have been less than 16 in her marriage.

So don't believe people who to defame our culture say Mata Sita was 5 and Ram ji was a grown man all.... It doesn't even make sense....

By this logic Mandavi would be 4, Urmila would be 3... Shrutkirti could be 3 or 2.....

Like ew dude ! Listen how your logic sounds like !
