CHAPTER 76

With Indrajeet gone, Ravan had lost everything. His lust for Devi Sita turned into extreme anger, so much that he wanted her dead. He rushed to Ashokvatika to kill her.

"Mai aaj iska vadh kardunga !" Ravan said raising his sword. But Devi Sita remained composed.

"Theheriye Lankesh." A minister named Suparshva held him back

"Nahi ! Iske Karan mere sampoorn kutumb ka naash ho chuka hai ! Mere bhai ! Mere putra ! Mere bhaanje ! Sabka vadh ho gaya !" Ravan said.

"Kintu isko maar ke kya labh ab ? Bhutkaal ko hum badal toh nahi sakte. Iske vadh karne se aapke mrit sambandhi laut toh nahi aayenge. Iske liye sabse upyukt dand yahi hoga ki aap Ram ka vadh kare." Suparshva said.

Ravan huffed in anger and returned to his palace, leaving Sita alone. While she sighed, even now he wasn't ready to let her go. He could atleast save what's left but no.

The war had to go on, Ravan sent some other surviving Rakshas warriors to the battlefield but they were all eliminated by Shri Ram.

Lanka was in ruins, every household had lost a person in the battle. The women were mourning. They didn't blame Shri Ram, they knew he was here to take his wife. They all were angry at Shurpnakha, who was the root of adversity.

"Uss vridh stree ka dussahas bhi kaise huya Ayodhya ke yuvak Rajkumaro par ku-drishti daalne ki !?"

"Shurpnakha ne hi Khar, Dushan aur Ravan ko yudh ki aag mei dhakel diya !"

"Shurpnakha ke bhadkane par hi Lankesh ne Sita ka haran kiya aur Ram se shatruta ! Kaash unhone Vibhishan ki baat sun li hoti !"

"Yadi Ravan ne Vibhishan ka paramarsh maan liya hota toh Lanka aaj ek shamshaan ghaat nahi bana hota."

And so the women of Lanka wailed.

It was too late to make amends, Ravan decided to throw everything and everyone that was remaining in the fire of this war.

Ravan once again entered battlefield and aggressively started to take down anyone who came in his way. His only aim was to look for Shri Ram.

Lakshman tried to stop Ravan buy the king of Rakshasas was filled with so much aggression that he shot a shakti weapon that hit Lakshman right on the chest, making him unconscious.

Shri Ram was furious at this, he showered his wrath on Ravan in forms of arrows that severely injured him. The king of Rakshasas was so hurt that he had to escaped from battlefield.

Shri Ram then got emotional looking at Lakshman, tears fell down his eyes.

"Utho Lakshman ! Utho ! Mai tumhare bina Ayodhya nahi jaa sakta Lakshman.... Mai Mata Sumitra ko kya mukh dikhayunga ? Tumne hi toh mujhe van mei sambhala tha.... tum mujhe praano se bhi adhik priya ho Lakshman. Tumhare bina Mai jeevit nahi reh sakta. Mujhse baat karo Lakshman, mujhse baat karo." Shri Ram sobbed.

And rescue once again came in the form of Hanuman, who once again flew to Lanka and brought the herbs asked by Sushen for Lakshman's treatment.

Soon the son of Sumitra was back on his feet, Shri Ram smiled proudly at Hanuman, there was no task that he didn't complete successfully or didn't do well.

Shri Ram showered all the praises at Hanuman and when he was out of words, he hugged the son of Vayu tightly.

"Hanuman, Tum mam priya Bharatahi sam Bhai." Shri Ram said embracing him. (Hanuman, you are as dear of a brother to me as Bharat.)
