CHAPTER 75

The battle between Lakshman and Meghnaad was a not for the faint-hearted. It went on non-stop for three days and three nights.

There were times when even Vibhishan came close to fighting with Meghnaad but he backed away as tears clouded his eyes.

"Mere bhai ka putra toh mere putra samaan hi huya... Yu toh Meghnaad ka vadh karna mere liye uchit nahi kintu Shri Ram ke vijay hetu mujhe yeh karna swikaar hoga. Parantu yeh ashru ruk hi nahi rahe. Meghnaad ka vadh Lakshman ko hi karna padega." Vibhishan said emotionally.

But Meghnaad wasn't a bit emotional when he attacked and injured Vibhishan. But before he could kill him, Lakshman would again challenge Indrajeet.

Both of them fought like two mighty lions on the battlefield, trying to over power one another. Both were extremely tired, both were gravely injured, but neither stopped fighting.

On the other side Ravan had sent several of his commanders to attack solely on Shri Ram and kill him. The commanders marched into battle with their armies, which took a toll on Vanar sena.

Thus Shri Ram jumped in with his illustrious bow and began to burn them with his fiery arrows, just like how the sun appears in the sky and slashes the sheath of clouds.

The force of his arrows were so strong and his actions were so Swift that the Rakshasas could see themselves getting hit and injured but couldn't spot where Shri Ram was, just like the way a strong gush of winds uproots the trees but remains unseen.

Like the man deluded in sensual pleasures cannot identify aatma seated in the body, the Rakshas army couldn't see Shri Ram. All they could see was the devastation he was inflicting.

"Woh raha Ram ! Haathiyo ka vadh karte huye !"

"Nahi ! Ram waha Rath tod raha hai !"

"Nahi Nahi ! Ram toh humari sena aur unke ghodo ka vadh kar raha hai !"

The Rakshasas exclaimed among themselves confused, trying to make sense of the situation. Sometimes they could spot Shri Ram, but the next moment they felt as if they were seeing thousands of him raining his arrows on them.

The Rakshasas became so confused that they began attacking and killing each other. Even while he was unseen, the outer edge of his golden bow seemed like a swiftly rotating band of fire.

Shri Ram's assault on the Rakshas's appeared no less than Kaal Chakra, the best wheel of destruction. Within a span of three hours, he destroyed 10000 chariots, 18000 elephants, 14000 horses and horse warriors, and 200000 Rakshas soldiers.

While in the temple of Nikumbhala the battle between Lakshman and Indrajeet was still going on. Their bleeding bodies shone like Palash trees in full blosson.

The volume of the sounds created by twangs of bow strings and the booms of celestial weapons kept increasing with each passing moment.

Hanuman had lifted Lakshman on his shoulders to keep him on the same level of elevation as Indrajeet. Lastly Lakshman summoned Aindrastra, and shot it at Meghnaad severeing his head from his neck.

Taking a deep sighs of relief, Lakshman, Hanuman and Vibhishan along with Vanar troops headed back to their camp.

Learning about the death of Indrajeet at the hands of Lakshman, Shri Ram was joyous and proud of his younger brother's feat. He tightly hugged Lakshman and affectionately made him sit in his lap, like a father does with his son.

Gosh.... The destruction of Rakshas soldiers by Shri Ram..... Reminded me of Arjun's way of fighting... He too would fight in a very illusory manner, confusing the enemy ✨✨

And you know in Bhagwad Gita, when Shri Krishna is saying that he is best among best, he tells in devtas he is Indra, in Pandavas he is Arjun..... He also says that among warriors wielding weapons he is Ram.

This shows that Shri Ram was the best warrior to ever grace this earth. After Shri Ram, comes Nar-avatar Arjun.

No wonder in Dhanurveda it's said to take names of Mahadev, Shri Ram and Arjun before going to battle.

And let us also appreciate Lakshman ji jo Ravan ka hukum ka ikka kaat diye ✨✨✨
