CHAPTER 44

Vali after being trumped by his own arguments, realised his mistakes. There were no more questions clouding his mind. But he wanted to ensure that his only son Angad, who was dearer to him than his own life was taken care of after his death.

Vali had understood that Shri Ram held no grudge towards him, and was established in Dharma, hence he surrendered Angad and Tara's care to Kaushalya-Nandan.

Shri Ram assured him that both Tara and Angad would be cared for like before. Due to loss of blood Vali fainted but opened his eyes some time after when his wife and son came to his side, this time Vali addressed his brother.

"Sugreev, mere jaane ke baad mere prati shatruta ka bhaav mat rakhna. Kadachit poorv janmo ke fal swaroop hum bhai hoke bhi shatru ban gaye. Kiskindha mai tumhe saup raha hu, aur mera putra Angad, jo mujhe praano se bhi adhik priya hai, uska dhyaan rakhna. Angar tumhare bhaati hi shaktishaali hai, woh sadev tumhari sewa mei sabse aage khada rahega. Aur ha, Tara ko mat tyaagna. Yeh Sati stree samajhdaar aur atyant gyaani hai. Yeh jo bhi paramarsh de uska palan karna." Vali said.

He then looked at his valiant son Angad, for whom he also had a message.

"Putra Angad, samaye aur sthaan ke mahatwa ko samajhna. Sukh ho ya Dukh, niyati anusaar sabka saamna karna. Apne hridaye mei kshama ke ped ko seechna aur sadev apne Chacha Sugreev ke aadesh ka palan karna. Kabhi unke shatruo se mitrata na karna. Kabhi moh ya udaaseen se bandhan se ghrasit na hona. Sab karya santulit man se karna." He said.

And these were Vali's last words, he passed away soon after. Even in his last moments he knew the most pragmatic approach for his son to adopt. But after his death, his wife Tara was devasted and wanted to give up her life on Vali's pyre.

But Hanuman consoled her and reminded her of her responsibilities towards the young Angad. And hence Sugreev again accepted Tara as his wife.

Shri Ram suggested Sugreev to be coronated without delay and Angad should be declared as the crown prince of Kiskindha as Sugreev and Ruma didn't have an heir.

By the time the coronation took place, monsoons had already arrived. It was a season of relaxing and rebuilding. All those who were travelling returned to their homes. No military were undertaken during this season. Hence Shri Ram decided to wait till autumn to start the search for Dev Sita.
