CHAPTER 33
When Shri Ram was rushing back to his Parnakuti, he found a very unhappy looking Lakshman, coming towards him.
"Lakshman ? Tum yaha ? Sita kaha hai ?" Shri Ram asked.
"Bhabhi ne hi mujhe yaha aapke sahayata ko bheja tha." Lakshman said and then the son of Kaushalya got worried.
"Lakshman.... Tumhe yaha nahi ana chahiye tha ! Yadi Sita ko kuch ho gaya toh ? Uske bina Mai ek kshan ke liye jeevit nahi rehna chahta, uske bina mujhe koi rajya kya, Devtao ka singhasan bhi nahi chahiye. Yadi ashram pahuchte hi maine Sita ka muskurata chehra nahi dekha toh meri mrityu ho jayegi ! Maine Sita ko tumhare rakshan mei rakha tha Lakshman toh fir tum use akele chhod yaha kyu aaye !?" Shri Ram said distraught.
"Bhaiya, bhabhi aapke cheekhe sun vyakul ho uthi aur mujhe jaane ka aadesh diya. Maine mana Kiya toh woh mere charitra aur nishtha par lanchhan lagane lagi. Mere liye unke katu-vachan asahaniya the iss liye mai aapke paas agaya." Lakshman said.
"Woh mere nahi Marich ki cheekhe thi ! Sita ne jo vachan tumse bole woh krodh aur vyakulta se utpan huye. Kintu tum toh mere parakram ke baare mei jaante the na. Tumhe apna saiyam nahi khona chahiye tha Lakshman." Shri Ram said.
The situation was serious and they had no time to argue further. Hence without wasting any time they rushed towards the ashram. And as they had feared, Devi Sita wasn't there in Parnakuti,
And there were clear signs of struggle. Lakshman went around the entire hut but no one was there. And it seemed as if someone had deprived Shri Ram of his breath.
"SITEY !!!!!" Shri Ram screamed. His pain echoed throughout the cosmos.
"Bhaiya..." Lakshman muttered seeing his brother on knees.
But suddenly Shri Ram got on his feet and ran outside the Parnakuti. Lakshman followed behind him, calling for him.
"SITA !" Shri Ram kept screaming her name while running through the forest.
In an isolated place like Dandakaranya, there was no one around from whom he could ask about the whereabouts of his dear wife. But he was so grief-stricken that he began asking those who couldn't answer.
"Godavari nadi, kya tumne meri Sita dekhi ?" He asked, but received no response.
"Hey Vriksho ! Kya tumne meri Sita dekhi ?" He asked, but again recieved no response.
"Hey Pashuo ! Kya tumne meri Sita dekhi ?" He asked the deers and squirrel but how could they answer.
"Hey Pakshiyo ! Tumne toh meri Sita ko dekha hoga ?" He asked from the birds.
"Hey mahan parvato ! Tum toh yahi the, tum batao meri Sita kaha hai ?" He asked the mountains.
Receiving no response from anywhere, Shri Ram fell on his knees. He sobbed and sobbed.
"Bhaiya, sambhaliye khud ko !" Lakshman said.
"Hey khag, hey Mrigh, hey madhukar shreni, tum dekhi Sita Mrighnayani ?" He asked like a mad man. (O bird, O deer, O sweet tree, did you see Sita, the deer eyed one ?)
"Bhaiya, aise dukh na manaye. Mere saath chaliye bhabhi ko dhundhne. Woh awashya yahi kahi hogi." Lakshman said.
But Shri Ram was in a state of shock as he continued to lament to Lakshman.
"Mai Sita ke bina Ayodhya kaise jayunga ? Uske bina toh swarg bhi suna lage mujhe. Tum Ayodhya laut jaao Lakshman, mai nahi aayunga. Bina Sita ke mai jee nahi sakta. Maine pichle janmo mei awashya kuch paap kiye hai jiska yeh fal hai. Dukh bhare ghatnaye samaapt hi nahi ho rahe Lakshman. Pehle vanvas aur Mata se virah, fir Pitashree ki mrityu, Sita sang thi toh maine yeh sab sahan kar liya. Kintu ab woh bhi chali gayi." Shri Ram said as endless tears fell from his eyes.
Even the eyes of Mahadev were moistened seeing the separation of Shri Ram and Mata Sita. He remembered the time when Devi Sati immolated herself.
His pain was also felt by both Amarsri and Srinav at Chaitanya Lok who also not so long also endured painful sting of separation.
Amarsri stared at Shri Ram, remembering how she also had cried when Rishi Agatsya had cursed her husband.
While she still remained composed, tears fell from the eyes of Srinav. Because he knew, she must've cried the same way.
Lakshman somehow got Shri Ram to get hold of himself, and again they both started to search for devi Sita. Their initial efforts were in vain and Shri Ram was getting impatient by each passing second. Now his sorrow became fury.
"YADI MUJHE SHIGREH SITA NAHI MILI TOH MAI ISS SAMPURN SHRISHTI KA NAASH KARDUNGA !" Shri Ram roared in anger.
"Bhaiya, aap toh apne Dhairya aur aatma-saiyam ke liye jaane jaate hai. Hum abhi nahi jaante ki Bhabhi ko kya huya hai aur kisne kya Kiya hai. Toh kisi ek ke apraadh ke karan baaki nirdosho ko kyu dand mile ? Yadi hum Bhabhi ko na dhundh paaye toh aap awashya woh kare jo aap chaahte hai." Lakshman said.
He massaged the feet of his elder brother to calm him down. His words did have effect on Shri Ram, as he relaxed.
"Bhaiya, aap toh sabhi praaniyo ke liye adarsh hai. Yadi aap hi dukh ke karan apna santulan kho denge toh baaki manushya paripakvat roop se apne dukh ko kaise sahenge ?" Lakshman said.
He then went on to give examples of people who had lost so much more or had gone through similar pain and had dealt with it with utmost patience and fortitude.
Lakshman's words had the desired impact, Shri Ram got hold of his emotions and began to think systematically. They again started to search for Devi Sita.

A/N
Shri Ram ka prem sabne dekha.... Ab unki Virah ki vedna dekhna.... The urge it takes not cry.
And Lakshman ji plays a very important part in holding Shri Ram together..... Because if you see the things prabhu said out of grief.... He would've definitely killed himself due to separation if Lakshman ji wasn't there.
