The Return

'Are you sure that's the best idea, Aria?'

I shake my head with a laugh. Alexa was right to worry, but I had to give it a try. I needed to know. I quickly type up my response.

'It's worth a shot. Besides, it may not do anything at all. There is a chance they are lost to us.'

I lean back, feeling slight dread in me and the thought of not being able to see them again. Any of them again, to be honest, but...

I feel his sense of calm wash over me, as it usually did whenever I started to feel upset or uncertain. I don't think he could hear my thoughts, as I have tested it and gotten nothing in return. Not even a reassuring feeling that he at least heard me. He just always knew when to make sure I knew I wasn't alone whenever I felt like no one would understand.

Especially after a nightmare.

They have been recurring, always the same thing too. Despite us all making it out safely, sort of, I still suffer the experience of seeing and believing all of my friends, my family, were dead. That I had failed them, and he had won. I feel a shiver run down my spine. Even after a month, those visions still plague my mind. I don't think I will ever be able to live the same way again.

Alexa responds, and her reply amuses me.

'Come on now, Aria. We both know why you really want to go.'

I feel my blush rise, but I won't deny it. I truly did miss him. We somehow formed a bond through my short stay there, and I wanted to get to know him better.

'I won't deny it. I do miss Reginald.'

I can hear her smirk through the words she types up.

'I bet lover boy misses you too.'

I shake my head once more but give no reply. Instead, I roll my mouse down and click on the grass block icon on my taskbar. My screen goes white before "Minecraft" appears in the usual cobblestone grey text. It doesn't take long for the loading screen to switch over to the main menu. I see my little avatar in the corner, and I feel my heart slightly tingle. I would be her again if this works the way I was hoping it would.

With the End Portal activated, I could easily get back home. I don't know if my character has any power left in her, though, and my sword was left behind. However, I smile still. If Reginald was there, that was all I needed.

I click multiplayer, and a list of servers pop up. I see our personal group server, Endertech, and a few others I would join my friends on occasionally. However, at the very bottom was a world that held no banners, no titles, no pictures, or logo. It was all blank and simply named "The End". I never named it, and everyone one of us had this saved on our computers. I hover over it with my mouse, and a notification pops up suddenly. It was Alexa again.

'Just... be careful, okay?'

I smile and type my reply, then move back to the world. Taking a deep breath, I click on it, and it slowly starts to load like normal. I watch the little block start filling itself, and the closer it gets to a hundred, the more my chest starts to hurt. 'Come on, please work...' I feel fear start to sink in as it reaches the nineties. I could still feel Reginald trying to comfort me, but there was a hint of curiosity in the comfort. I try to send him reassurance. This had to work, it just had to.

'Come on, load me in!'

Suddenly, I hear a faint voice in my mind. I try to focus on it, but get distracted as purple particles start to pop up on my computer screen. I gaze at them in confusion. This wasn't normal for regular Minecraft, or what happened last time. The purple starts to fill the screen a bit more, and I hear that soft voice speak in my mind again. It was so soft, I could barely hear it...

But I recognize the accent.

Suddenly, a purple pixel flashes past my eyes. Then another, and another. I gaze around and spot myself being surrounded by them. I close my eyes, slightly lifting my hands in victory. Just as I start to teleport into the game, I hear the voice one more time, and my heart soars.

'Aria?!'

'I'm on my way, Reginald.'

Then, I feel it.

My body being slightly torn apart, but no pain, only mild discomfort. The purple seeps through one of my closed eyelids and I feel the energy sink into my body once again. The vwoop echoes in my ears and I feel the warmth of my bedroom vanish.

So anyways, get ready you guys!

Aria and the gang aren't done just yet, so as always,
