I woke up after a good night rest. 'I haven't slept that well in a while' I thought to myself

I laid there for good minute or so, staring at my ceiling. I don't know what I was doing, I didn't feel like going back to sleep, nor did I feel like getting up. I turned to my side and noticed the time. "Oh no I overslept!" I yelled as I got out of my bed at the speed of light and zoomed into the bathroom to change

To be completely honest, I was having a panic attack. I couldn't afford to miss a single day at school, my attendance would be ruined and all my hard work would go into nothing. I was left standing there not being able to pick between two pieces of clothing. Looking at them both gave me an idea, my mom would know which one!

I ran downstairs, while hearing Fennekin say something, by the looks of it, she seemed to have just awoken and probably just said good morning. I tripped at the end of the stairway and fell face first onto the wooden floor.

"What seems to be the rush?" My mother asked with her cup of coffee in her hand, and Fletching perched onto her right shoulder.

"Mom! I'm going to be late for school, why didn't Fletchling or you bother to wake me up!" What's the point, it doesn't matter if I leave now or in an hour. The bus had already left by now, and so have my chances at making it to class on time.

My mother extended a hand for me to grab which I accepted, although I'm still getting them back for not waking me up. I was pretty sure Fletching enjoyed its sadistic acts when waking me up. Fennekin came running down the stairs and went into the living room. She went to her bowl of food and happily began eating.

"Fennekin, how could you be eating now! We have to go at this very moment, if we run we could still make it on time." I said looking at the time on my phone. I turned and sprinted towards our hallway, the first pair of shoes I saw were put onto my feet. I reached for my jacket but was stopped by a hand. The hand was connected to my mothers body.

"Serena... I don't mean to ruin your mood or anything. I'm actually quite happy that you are taking school seriously." She chuckled at me 'What?' I thought 'What's so funny, and why are you holding me back!'

"I hope you realize that today is Saturday, the weekend had already started" She burst out laughing

When I heard that sentence, it felt as if all the weight on my shoulders had been pulled off and my heart regained its neutral state. "Oh thank Arceus" I sighed flinging my shoes away

"Since you are now caught up with our current time, what would you like for your weekend breakfast?" Usually I eat only cereal or a fruit before heading to school, because I don't have time to make my breakfast. But during the weekends my mom allows me to choose anything that I want.

"Some eggs and bacon would be delightful" I said as I sat down on the sofa and turned on the TV. There wasn't really anything interesting being played, but I still stayed on a channel that talked about the weather. Seeing as we were going to the beach later today, it would useful to know if there will be any weather changes, even though things can happen unexpectedly.

I got bored real quick, but watched just enough to know how the weather would be like for today and tomorrow. I switched to a news channel to see if there is anything interesting going on. The reporter seemed to be talking about events that had happened about two weeks ago in the Kanto region, but hasn't been announced due to uncertainties that were caused by the event.

Supposedly, an evil crime organization named "Team Rocket" who specialized in stealing pokemon and using them for their own needs has been stopped. They then proceeded to show footage of the organizations headquarters, but it was all left in ruins. This man named professor Oak, came in and explained that they blew it up to destroy all of their technology along with the blueprints to create these.

I've heard of professor Oak, he is the professor who gives people their starting pokemon in the Kanto region, he is also very famous around here in Kalos as well. According to some sources that I've read, professor Sycamore and Oak have a very good relationship, they meet very frequently. I suppose professors must collaborate in order to further in their research.

"Breakfast is ready" My mother said as she was walking into the living room. "What's this? Could you turn it up a bit?" She requested. I complied and turned up the TV audio. 

"Was this a group based effort?" The reporter on the scene asked. "Well actually, there is somebody, who I will not mention by name. Privacy reasons of course, who had been working on this case for a long time now. It was because of his help that we were able to even find this secret base and take them down" 

"And was this so called 'person' present at the time of the take over?"

"Yes, he was actually the person who stopped the leader of the disgusting crime organization. But unfortunately, he hadn't done so without taking injuries. We later found him  in a critical condition on the top of the building, on the rooftop, but there's no need to worry, the hero has already recovered and is back at doing his job!" The professor ended, and refused to take anymore questions.

'Wow, a single person was able to first of all, get leads onto their secret hideout, and then not only take down most of the criminals there, but the leader as well? Whoever this person might be, I would love to meet him one day' I was stuck in deep thought

"Serena if you don't come soon, your food will be cold" I hadn't even noticed my mom leaving the room and going back to the kitchen. I really need to start paying attention more, it's really starting to show in my classes as well.

I made my way to the kitchen and took a seat at the chair where my plate with food was located. The chairs were very comfy for dining room chairs. I looked at my plate of bacon and eggs, the eggs stood out as two eyes, and the bacon was positioned to make the appearance of a smile. This made myself smile.

"So you are going to the beach today?" My mom guessed

"Yes, the whole gang is going" I replied to my mom while chowing down on some toast and then drank some orange juice to pour it down

"What about that boy you mentioned yesterday, Ash was it? Is he coming?" I spat the orange juice out of my mouth and looked at my mom, my cheeks flaring up in a bright shade of maroon. From the other side of the room, I could hear my mom giggling. 

Completely embarrassed I still tried answering her question "N-No, actually none of us have his phone number. Meaning that he couldn't be invited even if we wanted to" 

"What a shame, I would love to hear more stories about him and get to know him as well." My mom really did have similar thoughts to me, I guess I know where I get my way of thinking from.

"Yeah, it really is" I sighed quietly. "Sorry did you say something" My mom said poking her head into the dining room. 'How could she have even heard me, what are those ears made of?'

"N-No, not a single thing, I don't know what you're talking about" I whistled innocently while my mother glared at me with suspicion.

I took a look at he clock on the wall and jumped out of my seat "Oh would you look at that, I need to get going" I said while getting my shoes on and taking the bag that was near the entrance. 'If I spend anymore time here, I will arrive to the beach looking like I already got a sunburn'

"Okay honey, whatever you say. Have a great time, and make sure that there is no funny business." She really knows how to make me feel uncomfortable.

"Mom, we are all friends!" I yelled at her. "I know, I know but seeing as you and the other girls will be in bikinis, the guys might try to pull something, or even pull something out" I couldn't stand listening to this anymore, I grabbed Fennekin and went out the door, slamming it shut.

I walked towards the beach as it wasn't so far away. To my surprise I thought that Dawn and Shauna would also be going this way, but I guess they must've taken a car and are there already. I don't mind though, I like spending time with my pokemon.

I smiled at Fennekin who was walking beside me. She looked very clean, I spend a lot of my time grooming her, since I enjoy doing it and she enjoys being brushed as well. 

"Hey Fennekin, I know we haven't really used that much time practicing our pokemon performances, but wouldn't you say it's about time for us to join one?" I asked my furry little friend

"Fennekin?" She tilted her head

I giggled, and continued "Yeah, we both know that we find joy in doing it, and I think that we definitely have what it takes!" 

"Fennekin, Fenne-Fennekin!" My dancing partner said with excitement.

"So you agree? Yay!" We both jumped into the air making up ours minds.

"And besides I'm getting tired of those dreams. I wan't to make them a reality!" I said to Fennekin "Make what dreams a reality?" I turned my head and spotted Dawn walking towards me.

"Oh hey Dawn, how long have you been standing there?" I asked her, hoping she didn't see the things before that "Long enough that I know you have a re-occurring dream" She chuckled

I joined in on the laughing and we both made our way towards the beach. We got there quite swiftly and made our way to the rest of the group. I saw that everyone was already in their swim suits, even Dawn who took off her upper layer, revealing that she had also had a swim suit on.

"I see everyone came prepared already" I said to everyone

"We thought it would be easier to just wear it before we left instead of changing" Paul explained "Yeah, but you forgot to mention that it was my amazing idea" and there he goes again the ego-filled Gary.

I don't know how it was even possible, but Gary was actually even more arrogant than Ash. Right Ash, my mom was right, it was a shame he couldn't come, I could get to know him a bit more. No wait what, why am I thinking about him. I barely even talked to him.

"Why aren't you in your swim suit Serena?" Calem questioned, and everyone glanced my way. Oh crap, I certainly don't wish to tell anyone about my conversation before I left the house in a hurry. 

'Think, think, think. You can make something up on the spot, you are great at improvising' I said to myself in confedence

"I was in a hurry" I simply stated, surely they will believe that and leave it as it is

"What were you doing?" May asked

'May, I may have to give you a beating later' I sighed mentally

"I-I... Ehm. I... was caught up watching an intense battle" I facepalmed in my mind

I was worried none of them would believe, I mean what kind of excuse is that, all of them know I don't even like watching battles.

Calem's eyes became filled with stars "Wow really? Which one? Who was in it? Was it a league match or was it a challenger attempting the Elite Four for the championship?" He was throwing questions my way left and right.

I just sweat dropped at his reaction to my made up excuse. "The details of what I did before I got here doesn't matter. Let's go enjoy ourselves and have a nice day" I said to the group

"Does anyone know where there are any changing booths around here?" I asked no one in particular

Calem zoomed past everyone and jumped right in my face "There's one that way, he pointed to a small building "If you want I can escort you"

"No, that's fine. But thanks for telling me where it is" I thanked him

With that I left the group and went into the changing room. For something that is open to the public, this was very clean. Just the way I like my things. After I got done changing I went back to the gang. Most of them were already in the water, but May was laying on a towel on the beach, obviously getting a tan.

Seeing as it would be more fun to be in the water, I jumped right in. I swam around for a while and it felt extremely relaxing. The blue ocean was crystal clear, you could easily see the ground beneath us, and all of the pokemon that reside within this massive aquarium. There were all sorts of water types. From a distance I could see Misty going crazy, since she absolutely adores water type pokemon. 

I tried doing this thing, where you would lay on your back and basically just float on the top of the water. I finally got it to work and relaxed. But it was short lived as I was splashed by some water. I looked to see Gary basically splashing everyone, he really wanted a battle to start.

Within mere moments, the group was in an all out brawl of splashing each other with water. Nobody was giving up, but eventually everyone became tired pretty easily. Keeping yourself afloat while blocking and attacking really takes a toll on your stamina.

The gang was now back on land and we were all drying off in the sun. Our towels and stuff were spread so that it formed a circle. 

"This was great everyone, I can't remember the last time we had this much fun as a whole group!" I spoke my mind

"It sure has been a while hasn't it, we were all so caught up doing different things" Shauna added 

"Or it is because none of us are capable of efficient time management and organization" Paul being optimistic as ever I see

The entire group chat didn't really last that long. We broke up into smaller discussions, me talking to Dawn and Shauna, while Misty was talking to May and Drew. The last group was made up of Calem, Gary and Paul.

I was paying attention to our conversation, when May yelled out of nowhere "Hey guys, look it's that new kid, what's his name again. Ash. Yes, Ash that's it!" 

I rotated my head and saw Ash walking down this road just above the beach. 'I wonder where he is going'

Things were getting quite dull here, and this might be a chance for me to get to know more about him, and besides none of us could invite him before, so why not do it now?

I was going to speak, but got beaten by Calem "Who care's about him, he's just some loser and an unsocial idiot" I wasn't very fond of  that comment, because it's not as if any of us know him. Even though Calem didn't want to have him here, I'd still like to give it a try.

"Hey, Ash!" I yelled waving my hand for him to spot me. "Why don't you come and join us?" I asked loud enough for him to hear. I thought since he didn't really have anybody to hang out with, he would accept and possibly become part of our group.

But I was disappointed and a little hurt when I saw him glance at my direction before turning his head and kept walking completely ignoring my proposal. He didn't even bother stopping to at least think about it.

I sighed 'I guess he has better places to be' I frowned while recalling the moment
