Chapter 52

"Sir, there are people who demand to speak with you immediately. We've tried getting their identities, but none of them are willing to reveal who they are or what their business is. Their only request is an audience with the man in charge here."

I glanced at the sudden appearance into my office, giving a deadly look at the grunt who only seemed to panic once he realized what he had done "S-sorry, sir. Orders?" He requested, I looked down at the photo filled with memories, from a better time. Shoving it aside in the drawer, I gave my answer "Bring them in. Tell the leader of the pack to come speak directly to me. As for the others, let them be do as they will but maintain an eye on them at all times."

"We don't want any security breaches." I shot at him sternly, standing from the comfort of the office chair and towards the panel overlooking the industry "Yes sir!" He shouted, I could hear the movement of a body part struck against another, in the reflection I saw the salute held by him. Soon I could see him running across the deck towards the entrance.

'Come. Let's see what we have here.'

I stood starring through the see through surface in front of me, looking at the operations being prepared with haste. My face, a dead expression taking its course 'Soon it will all be prepared. The grand scenario will be revealed, it would be on another level. Something the world had yet to see.' My lips curled upwards slightly, a menacing grin now plastered on my face.

My eyes fell upon two grunts handling a cage filled with pokemon 'But still we need more energy.' I thought to myself, looking out into the facility containing countless machinery and members spread about doing their own thing. Few had been assigned to security, as this place is well hidden from the public and only a small portion of people know about this place. People who I allow to know about this.

My short tempered attention shifted to an ongoing battle between a Houndoom and a Crobat. The cheers escaping as the crowd watched, the two contenders neck to neck. Countless pairs standing or sitting farther away from the ruckus, engaged in their own affairs and conversations. Eventually my silver eyes came across a cloaked figure in the background. The grin had faded as the hidden face tilted upwards towards the box we were situated in.

The stare had been growing tense until the figure shifted their head forwards and continued with their path. I closed my eyes, taking in a deep breath before turning around and back to the guest who paid an surprise visit. Walking back towards the unannounced visitor, sitting at the desk while drinking from a mug filled with an unknown substance. I grabbed the chair at my desk, taking a seat while resting my elbows on the table, my hands meeting above at the face which stared at the figure.

"Mind speaking about your business here?" I questioned the man, who looked up and placed his drink on the table "I've come here to negotiate with you. And to warn." He said, a hint of disturbance in his voice. I grew interested immediately at the sound of the proposition "You've come here to negotiate, and to warn me of what exactly?" I inquired at the bold statement put by the figure sitting in front.

"All that will be spoken in good time. For now, I would like to know something about you 'Lysandre'." I raised my eyebrow, while motioned with my hand to continue "I'm listening." The man moved his arm towards the glass "This is what I would like to know of. What is it you do here? You're goal? Surely the infamous Team Flare wouldn't rile up the region without a solid purpose."

"Had we not just met? It would not be quite acceptable to spread word of our plan to outsiders. For all I know, you could be a part of any of the Protection Association and their gang of idiots." He sighed, while crossing his arms "I suppose it is true, but if we are being honest here-" The man leaned in closer with a grin plastered over his face "There's no reason for me to rat you out. I'm only after a single thing, and you could help me achieve that." I stared at his eyes, complete craze written all over them.

I leaned back in the leather chair, raising my hand at the chin pondering about the risk. I took another look at him, he seemed familiar yet as if those eyes hadn't seen the light of day in years "I can recognize you from somewhere. For which organization did you take part in?" I questioned with curiosity earning myself a couple of chuckles from the man "I guess you could say I worked for a crime organization located in Kanto and Johto."

My interests grew by the minute. The look, personality and tone of his voice. It seemed that he was speaking the truth "Alright then. You already know me then, the name is Lysandre and I'm the owner of this fine establishment. And you would be?..." I asked extending my hand towards the mysterious figure "Nothing at the moment." He met my hand, giving it a firm grip with a strong shake.

"You asked to know of the operations that take place in Team Flare?" The man nodded, looking through the glass and at the view on the outside of the high standing office room "Certainly. I believe that we could possibly share a common interest." He stated, keeping his eye outside "Well then, let us begin. To put it shortly, Team Flare is an organization set to establish a new world. Built up of these ruins left by society."

"A common goal, but for what reason and through what intentions?" He spoke with curiosity all over his rough voice. I grinned at him, standing up from my seat "Only those who have been chosen will be allowed to live in the new world. Humans have trashed this world without regards of anything else other than themselves."

"As for intentions, let me ask you? Have you ever heard of the legendary beast that goes by the name of 'Zygarde'?" The man shook his head at me, indicating me to explain "A powerful thing, once completed. However our research has come to find that it can be found in it's most vulnerable state, something we refer to as "cell form" Zygarde. This is it's weakest state, and although it can call upon it's other cells to gain strength."

"Recently, we had been collecting these cells and conducting thorough research on the creature. A spectacular piece of nature indeed, never had I seen such beauty before. Out of this, we shall create a similar beast that will bring about the new world. The other Zygarde can either live in our new world, or die in the old."

He seemed to be intrigued by the idea, leaning forward "Then why capture all of the different pokemon, are they already the 'chosen' ones?" I let out a psycho laugh "Those weaklings will never be apart of our world, they will be used to create it. The energy subtracted from them is all we need."

"The sacrifice of the many, will bring luxury to a few?" He ended as a question, I nodded "Of course. Isn't it the way nature had always functioned? Those who learn to adapt will survive, the others will become apart of the distant history." The man smiled, clearly having some sort of agreement to my statement "From my understandings then you require energy?"

"Yes. That is currently what we require. The most effective way of gathering it according to our findings is the energy radiated when trainers and their pokemon engage in mega evolution." The figure stood up from his seat, and same as I was a while ago, stared out into the distance of the Team Flare headquarters "If I'm being honest. I could care less of your goals of creating a new world, however that doesn't mean that we can't come to an agreement. I will support you by any means necessary."

I smiled mentally, another piece added to the board "Then what would you require?" I spoke out, questioning his own interests of this deal "My own interests are currently unrelated. You said that you require energy?" I nodded towards him, causing him to fully turn around "Let me ask you something Lysandre. Have you heard of a boy named Ash Ketchum?" He said in a very hateful tone "I don't believe I have heard the name specifically. Some kind of accomplice of yours?

He shook his head "Can you recall the Team Galactic headquarters being raided, resulting in them shutting down?" The man asked, my mind shifted to the day I had heard the news. It caught me completely off guard. Cyrus was a strong leader, it was impossible to believe he was taken down that quickly "After so many years, how could they have possibly taken them down with such haste?" The man let out a laugh at my knowledge of the situation, making a fool of me "You honestly believe that it was only the Sinnoh Protection Association? No my friend. There was other help, more than just that of what the media had put to hide the truth."

I raise my eyebrow at him, completely confused at what he meant "I had one of my own confirm what had happened. What do you mean there was other help in taking them down?" The figure returned to its seat, eyes closed with a grin stretching across the face "Remember the name I spoke of?" I recalled back "Ash Ketchum." I spoke, without a second to spare "Exactly." He cut through without a moment of hesitation "The boy was involved with the affairs of Team Galactic."

I stare at him incredulously "A simple boy couldn't take them down." I looked out at him for an answer, but there was none. Meaning it must have been true, I sat there with my mouth agape "The things he had done that I heard. The boy was merciless when it came down to the grunts." Looking at the ground, I thought over the situation and the new information "This means that it was a personal matter. He will most likely come after us next." I stated standing up, thinking about our next course of action "Of course he will. He wasn't only been caught up in Team Galactic. He blazed through Team Rocket as if it were nothing."

"Team rocket?" I turned my attention to the man, who nodded his head in return "They've been gone for months, their leader died along with their cause." I stated looking at the ominous figure 'Who is this and where did you come from?' I thought to myself in wonder, trying to search for a motif. An evil laugh bounced off the walls of the room, he must have completely lost it. My mind couldn't make anything of the mans actions, only wrapped in confusion "Did he? I hear he still roams around the regions."

"And you would know this how?" This conversation wasn't going anywhere, he stayed silent. Before this could go anywhere else, I decided to re route back on track "Before we got off topic, you mentioned that boy, Ash Ketchum. What does he have to do with anything in regards to us except that he may be a potential threat?"

The figure stood up and dropped a folder on my desk, I bent forward to look at the title 'Ash Ketchum' It read out, a profile. I glanced from the file upwards "This boy is capable of more than you think. This child possesses a special power that is shared between his pokemon." I took the folder and began sliding through the pages worth of information, and stopped until on his picture "This is the fool you are talking about?" I pointed towards him, earning myself a nod "The power you speak of, is it the connection between the Greninja and him?"

"You've met I presume?" He returned with a question, while I stayed silent staring directly at the child on my desk recalling back to the moment "He was already interfering with our plans. There was a delay because of him, but I taught him a lesson by nearly beating him into a pulp. Trust me, there is nothing special about him. A fancy trick he knows, what of it?" I ended by slamming the document shut, sliding it back across the table.

"Lysandre, you disappoint me. You were in combat against the one of a kind beast. Are you going to sit there and tell me that you didn't feel anything when you were battling it?" My mind took me back, I was hovering there in boredom looking down at him with my dead eyes. The moment that wave of cerulean burst out of the ground, the feeling. A sudden wave of energy shot out of them "They are able to access the point beyond evolution without a key stone. We both know what that means." I couldn't help but put on a maniacal smile, open wide while stretching ear to ear realizing the energy contained in them.

I rubbed my hands against each other, greed filling my mind 'Think of all the power we could get from them...' I looked up at the mirror, who seemed to be sharing my exact thoughts as he let out a maniacal chuckle.

"You get what you need, and I get what I want."
