It was finally lunch break, I really needed a pause from education. I needed to refill my energy with some food. I waited patiently in the line, collected my food and went to go sit next to my friends. The gang was sitting at one of the corner tables, I saw Calem waving at me, motioning for me to come over. I smiled towards his direction, but what caught my eye was the boy from before.

As I was making my way towards our table, I saw Ash. But he wasn't getting food like everyone else, he seemed to be leaving the school. "Why is he leaving the school" I said under my breath.

The gang noticed me staring into a different direction while I was making my way to the table. Knowing Dawn, of course she would start something "So who were you checking out Serena" she teased.

"It's the new boy, Ash. I just saw him leave the school premises" I said to the group.

By the looks of their faces, I'm guessing they had already met him or got to know him from the other classes. I actually wouldn't be surprised if he acted the same way within the variant lessons.

Calem then commented "Who cares about him, he's just some loser and acts all high and mighty" Couldn't argue with that I suppose, from my own personal experience with him, although I didn't appreciate him using the word 'loser' to describe someone he just met. 

"His attitude towards students and teachers is something to be noted" May added.

'A bit harsh, but it is the truth. He is being very intolerant of others, but still. Something is missing in this picture. There's just a piece that hasn't been added to the puzzle. There is more to him than just that, I'm sure of it.' I kept to myself

How has this guy been in our school for less than half a day, and already he has made a reputation of himself. This day just keeps getting better and better by the minute.

"Switching topics..." Gary started "What are you guys doing over the weekend, any of you have any plans?" He asked around the group

Nobody from the group seemed to have any plans for the weekend, neither did I. Maybe I would study a bit and practice my performance of my pokemon, but other than that I am open for anything. And so I said "I'm pretty much free the entire week, what do you guys have in store for us?" I questioned.

"On Saturday, we thought we could go for the beach, have a nice relaxing time with just us and our pokemon" Misty explained.

"The beach, that sounds like a great idea!" Drew decided to comment

"Yeah sure, whatever" Typical Paul I guess

"I could totally go for a tan, and while we are there maybe there are some cute pokemon that I can catch for the next showcase! " Shauna giggled at the thought

"The beach it is then for Saturday" I joined in on the decision

Calem started off again "Then it's settled, on Saturday we will all go to the beach together and have a great time!" 

Good to know I won't be spending my weekend inside doing nothing. I could already imagine the beach, nice sunny day, sky blue ocean water and to top it all off, my friends being there with me.

I was disturbed from my internal dream by another one of Calem's comments.

"And on Sunday if you want to join in, I'm going to the Santalune Gym and challenge Viola for the Bug Badge. I believe that Chespin and I can beat her" 

"Wouldn't it be better if you had more than one pokemon?" I questioned his decision of only using Chespin

"Chespin is my first pokemon and my strongest, there's no way we will lose that easily!" He said with determination

I sweat dropped at the statement 'He's your only pokemon, no wonder he's your strongest' and continued eating my food in peace. 

"So will you come to spectate me Serena" Calem put me on the spot

"I-a... I-I might have some spare time?" I ended my sentence as a question

"Oooo, Serena stuttering at Calem's proposal?" Dawn teased

"You know I'm not into battling, which is why I hesitated" I huffed

"Oh come on, don't you want to see me wipe the floor with Viola?" Calem attempted to be persuasive

I didn't know what to say, I was being put on the spot constantly. I really don't enjoy watching pokemon battles, but I guess since Calem asked so nicely I can't resist an invitation like that.

I sighed "Alright, sure I'll come, but only under one condition" Calem seemed intrigued by this, and insinuated for me to continue.

"If you lose, you'll never ask me to come to one of your stupid battles again" I put my terms down "And if I win?" Calem asked

I hesitated at first, but then answered "If you win, then... then I'll go with you to all of your gym battles"

"Alright!" He jumped up with excitement "Don't worry Serena you won't regret this!"

"Right, sure I won't" I sweat dropped yet again. "Quite the proposal there Serena" Dawn commented "Don't worry, you won't be going alone, all of us are coming with" She finished with a smile

'Thank god the others are coming as well, I don't think I can handle an entire day with just Calem, it's not like I hate him or anything, but I just can't stand that attitude for an extended period of time.' I sighed mentally

The ball rang indicating for us to start heading to our next class. I still haven't memorized the time table yet, I took a look at which class I have next. 'Why science out of all the subjects on this list' I complained

Well, let's try and stay optimistic here. Science can be fun right? Right?

We're now half way through the science lesson and I'm already sick of it. I just can't wait to go home and relax. Oh wait, that's right we have homework. Great, there's that to look forward to. I'm currently located at the middle section of the science classroom. I haven't really been paying attention to anything that has been said by the professor, it's stuff we had done last year, just a repetition. 

Unlike the class right before lunch, Ash was with me in this lesson as well. Although he didn't seem to be as arrogant as he was in the pokemon studies. Actually, now that I look at it he has been quiet this entire lesson. I really don't understand him, how can he be a complete jerk in one lesson, and then be as if he didn't do anything in the next? 

I took a closer look and found out why he hadn't said a word this entire class. He was sleeping...

I nearly fell out of my chair as I noticed this. 'Sleeping again? You won't learn a single thing if you keep this up' I thought in my mind

Unfortunately for him the professor noticed Ash having a nice rest in his class. The professor didn't seem too amused by Ash's lack of respect. 

The teacher then began his punishment for Ash "Ash, seeing as you have plenty of spare time and this lessons seems boring to you could you please answer these questions on the board" 

Ash nudged and slightly lifted his head to listen to what the professor had requested of him. He then looked past the professor at the questions. For a second it was portrayed as if Ash was finally put in his place.

The kids in the room started giggling and whispering to each 

"Look at him now, all frozen"

"That's what you get when you don't pay attention"

"Karma really does have it's way doesn't it?"

The comments kept on coming and coming.

Ash seemed completely ignorant of any of it. He stood up and walked towards the board. On his way to the board, the professor handed him a marker and Ash began answering the questions.

Within the next minute Ash answered all five of the questions. The professor's face said it all, he was completely shocked. Everyone's jaws fell at the detailed answers, and pin-point accuracy. These are questions that aren't even in our current chapter, and what on earth is this terminology he is using?

I've never even heard of 'Quantum fluctuations'. 

Ash was waiting for an order from the teacher, but did not get one. I watched as he decided to take matters into his owns hands. He began walking back to his seat, while passing the professor Ash handed him back his marker and I quote what he said "Maybe I'm not the one who needs to be educated"

I couldn't believe what I was hearing, the room was filled with dead silence, except for a laugh coming from Ash's seat. The class glanced at the pokemon, and it was Pikachu laughing at the interaction that just occurred between the student and the teacher.

Ash sat back in his chair, and just like before he went back to sleep, completely disregarding what happened.

Shortly after the professor began to pickup the lesson again, but not with as much enthusiasm as before. Sooner rather than later, the bell went off and the school day was finally over. 'This was too much for me for today' I sighed

I started packing up, but was immediately pulled by someone. I rotated my head and noticed Dawn pulling me towards the school's battlefield.

Once we arrived I saw Calem battling with another student, he turned his head in my direction and a grin appeared on his face.

"Why did you bring me here, you know I don't like watching battles" I huffed at Dawn

"Oh come on, try being a bit more open-minded for once in your lifetime" Dawn criticized

Most of that afternoon was wasted in my opinion. I was not enjoying myself, even if it was Calem battling, I don't care. Everyone seemed to be finally leaving and heading towards the bus, I joined them until I noticed I forgot my bag in the science classroom.

'Right, Dawn dragged me all the way out here before I could even pack up all my things. And because of that I'm going to miss the bus and I'll have to wait on the next one, wasting yet again even more time' 

The halls were completely empty, so getting there was quick. Usually during school time the halls are filled and it is sometimes hard to move through them.

I reached the classroom door and opened it. I headed to my spot and noticed that my things are still scattered all over the desk. I was relieved to find everything untouched, I hate it when people touch my things without my permission.

Took me a while to gather all my equipment and materials, but I finally managed and stored them in my bag. I picked up my bag and threw it over my shoulders.

'As soon as I get home, I'm taking a nap' I thought to myself with a smile

Since I was sitting in the middle section, to the left to be precise I wasn't aware of my surroundings, because when I turned around I was met with something unexpected.

Ash was still there, his head on the table. Sleeping. Nobody even bothered to wake him up? Not even the professor? Makes sense seeing what he did during the science lesson.

I started getting closer. I was going to wake him up and then leave, but the moment I tried to extend my hand to nudge him a bit, I noticed a pair of two yellow ears with black tips on top belonging to a pokemon twitch. It was Pikachu. Pikachu then woke up and immediately noticed me. 

He jumped on the other side of Ash on the table in a defensive position, and started gaining sparks around his cheeks. "Pika, Pikachu" He yelled as if to tell me to back off.

I swear he was about to discharge his electricity into me but was stopped by a hand. The hand belonged to Ash, he seemed to have woken up.
